As a huge truex fan, I'm so sad to see him leave, but I'm glad that he's not spending extra years falling away.

Truex is the guy who introduced me to Nascar as a kid. I had this generic 1 race car balloon for my birthday, and one day when Nascar was on, my Dad said as he pointed at Truex, "There's your guy!" Ever since then I rooted for Truex. I remember his second win in the 56 car, and the heartbreak of that 2013 season. I always wished he won a lot as other racers, but knowing he was going to the 78, I assumed his career was up. Boy, was i wrong! 2015-2017 were some the best years as a Truex fan. I wasn't scared the second time when he moved to the 19, and those years, 2019-2021 were good as well. Yes, 2022 and the end of 2023 were painful, but I still enjoyed them. If Truex is retiring, (I don't know who to root for after, maybe Ryan Truex,) I'm gonna be rooting for him one last time to get more wins and another championship. 🥲 Go Truex! Let's get to 40 wins and one more Championship!🤩🏁

As a huge MTJ fan, best way I can say it is, I’m not surprised, but I am disappointed. And by golly, I hope he goes on a tear during the rest of the season and goes out on top.

Truex is like a tale of two careers. From Xfinity champ to looking like his career was over after MWR fell apart to one of the most epic career resurgences in sports history. He can definitely walk away with no regrets at this point.

Martin Truex Jr. is a definite Hall of Famer who will be widely missed among the Cup personalities. My prediction for his replacement: Ryan Truex. Might not be realistic, but it is a prediction.

It's sad to see him leaving... I almost forgot he starting at DEI. Having him and Kevin retiring in consecutive years is hard, but they retiring on their own terms, not getting kicked out of NASCAR.

Noah has a 0% chance of going to JGR, he and Ty Gibbs HATE each other, they will never be teammates. The Berry and Childers duo is also not likely since JGR focuses more on the single sponsorship seasons rather than the 10 different sponsors throughout the year strategy, and unfortunately, I don't think Berry would be able to find one big main sponsor. Briscoe, at first, doesn't seem realistic, until I thought of a few factors. The main, and most important factor is that Mahindra money. Briscoe has that one big main sponsor he can bring that over to JGR and satify the sponsorship strategy that JGR is known for. Also, Tony Stewart. I know that Stewart isn't involved in NASCAR really at all, but let's not forget Stewart won 2 championships for Gibbs, drove for him for years, has a good relationship with Joe still and Briscoe has been Tony's protege. Eric, I think you're right on the money that Briscoe will get that 19 seat.

cole pearn was the best thing to happen to mtj. before he wasn't even a top ten driver. and yes i've been a truex fan since day 1... now he's still a good driver but after cole left he hasn't been the same..will miss him another door and link to the oast is closing

As a Truex fan, i’m sad but not shocked. The last few years these rumors have been around, even all the way back sense 2020 I remember back then. I will always remember that 2017 championship as my favorite moment of his career

Briscoe could also bring Mahinera along with him for sponsorship so there is also that and they could drop the #19 and go back to the #18 as well

I doubt that Gragson will go to JGR, whether he wants to or not, because of his former disagreements and conflicts with Ty Gibbs in Xfinity, particularly during 2022. I don't think Gibbs would be willing to be his teammate.

Martin was just picking up a check for a few years. He's not in danger of winning a championship this year or any future year. Good luck in retirement, and thanks for racing in NASCAR.

Mt J's career is backwards if you think about it most drivers fall off towards the end from 2006 to 14 he was irrelevant and I think a lot of people were wondering how we still had a ride from 15 to now he all the sudden just became a top five driver every year in Nascar

I think he was continuing to race for Sherry. When she passed last year, he already made the commitment to 2024.

That would be funny and kind of awkward if Kyle Busch miraculously gets signed back to JGR after his departure just 2 years back.

Nothing against Briscoe (other than him ruining Reddick's Bristol Dirt win), but I'd really like to see Kyle Busch back a JGR.

Remember when it was announced Gibbs would be driving the #54 Joe was asked about the plans for the #18 and he said it would be making a return in the future was the plan all along to "loan" Busch to RCR and have him return to the 18 Bass Pro Shops car 👀👀👀 unlikely but would be interesting

I really like the possibility of Briscoe to the 19. Wonder if Mahindra will go over to JGR. that would be K. A. Awesome. I'm happy for Truex; but another of my favorites is retiring. I'll never forget 2017 Championship year.. Winning Vegas, sweeping all 3 stages, while Kyle & Joey go at it on pit road. Spanked them in the 600. I honestly miss the 78 on track.

I think the most impressive thing about Truexs career is that he did not become the race dominating force we know him as until he was well into his 30s. One of the most impressive career revivals in not even NASCAR but all of sports.

I think Mahindra goes with Briscoe wherever he ends up but Ford is fucking up not figuring something out for him.

Going to have to get tickets to a west coast race so I can see him in person once. Truex’s championship year is when I started watching NASCAR.

I assume the retirement rush was to sign a 4th driver before the charter reduction is finalized. I’m assuming it will go like Roush reducing from 5 - 4 cars. NASCAR grants the 4 car teams time to finish out their current contracts then sell the 4th charter. If truex retires 2 months after the new deal is signed, that could potentially force the 19 to shut down at the end of the season. Signing a contract now secures the 19 team for the terms of the new contract as the 4th car

I did see another past article that involved Mahindra Tractors returning with Chase. Believe they mentioned that they’ll return if the team that signs him, does it for Chase’s skill and not just for the potential of Mahindra being on board

5 championship 4 appearances... winning 1 and finishing 2nd in 3 of them. We nearly had a Truex championship in 4 of 5 seasons. It was an amazing run.

Chase Briscoe does several dirt races each year. Joe, Why do want another dirt racer on your team, just to not let him race dirt? “I like dirt track racers, but once they sign with me, they can only race my cars. Once they come here, they can no longer hone their skills and enjoy racing what got them here, but they have a good car in Sunday.“ If you’re a racer, would you take that deal?

I couldn't have asked for much for his career after how it started, but man the news today felt like a dropkick to the stomach. I'm just hoping he'll make a few Xfinity starts with JRM in the future so I still have someone to root for.

As a fan of MTJ this really sucks. I knew this was going to happen but I was really hoping one more year. But I really hope MTJ goes out winning races and a 2X Champion. And I hope they put Noah in the #19.........

I can say Jeff Gordon went out on top racing for a championship in his final season. MTJ can very well do the same. A win is coming this year

I just hope we still see him around the sport after he retires. He’s not linked to any TV broadcasting deals or anything in a management roll with a team, so it does concern me we won’t see him much around the track after this season

I had picked Briscoe as my new favorite driver after Harvick retired, but its been hard to watch. It would be awesome if he gets the 19 (likely 18 next year).

Noah Gragson is no way going to Gibbs. Ty Gibbs did the hit job to get him out of Legacy with that stupid internet like. Gragson told Jones to kick his you know what and they got him out of there because of that.

When Chase Briscoe sent it into Tyler Reddick at Bristol dirt I was like. Ok, he’s a wild man who will do anything to win.

Would love for Briscoe to stay Ford, but also want him to be in top equipment. Right now that is JGR. Briscoe will be the best option and best driver available. He has sponsorship that will follow him. Ford will be in trouble though. I also feel like Truex jr wouldn't be announcing retirement without JGR having someone already in place. I could be wrong. Maybe it was discussed behind closed doors. We will see though.

I think Gragson is just as talented as Briscoe. I think keeping bass pro would mean alot for JGR and Gragson is gonna be cheaper than Busch. Also, most people are not keeping the slim possibility of Sheldon Creed in mind. Creed has alot of funding and is already inside JGR.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but I believe someone (maybe Stern) reported that Briscoe still has support from Mahindra and other sponsors. So he does bring some money with him.
