Just a quick note as to how this video almost immediately made me money. I was listing today and had some jeans - Women's Levi's 550 Classic Relaxed Fit w/ Tapered Legs. They had a 10.5" rise and cut-off hems. I got them at the bins but I wasn't sure anyone would even want them. After watching your video I used High Rise and Fray (and Tapered). They sold in less than an hour. So THANKS AMBER AND JENNIFER 🔥♥

I believe Skinny is still selling so well because there's just so much of it out there. Yes people are still wearing the style but I've noticed I'm selling my Skinny pairs for lower than the trendier styles. Skinny styles are so saturated at the thrifts because brands made so much of it a few years ago when people were looking for it. I used to be able to list my Jeggings and Skinnys for $5+ higher on eBay. My sales slowed on them so once I lowered my prices they started selling really well again. I've learned that no matter the style there will be people out there looking for it
@AmberResells
@AmberResells Год назад
One thing I forgot to note in the video is that these were all listings that sold for $25 or more! So although it’s possible skinny may have dropped in price, it’s still a very common keyword and jeans that are selling for more than $25.

Yes, the terms ‘Mom’ and ‘High Rise’ (high waisted) are not mutually exclusive, any one pairs of jeans can be described as one, the other, both or neither. Of the listings with ‘Mom’ all but two were also described as ‘high’. When looking both ‘fray’ and/ or ‘raw’ we see those applied to 12% of the listings.

Be cautious when interpreting data. This data does not capture sell through rate, that is, there may be a kajillion (a technical term meaning more than scads🤪) listings for skinny jeans and only a small subset may actually sell. So, skinny jeans are selling but a different style may have a higher percentage of listings selling. In the end, you have to sell what works for you!

Love this Amber! Can't wait to hear what is next in your discovery. Here is my question, since I usually go to eBay for my comps, how do you rely on Posh when they throw all of their solds since the beginning of their existence? I know you can filter through recently shared but how do you know sellers are not sharing their entire closet from 13 years ago? vs. eBay where you know you are getting 90 days? hope this makes sense... because I sell on both platforms and a few others... hope my question makes sense xoxoxo
@jennifereaton2435
@jennifereaton2435 Год назад
On both platforms we used Recently Listed sort. We are relying on the somewhat limited data and the platforms’ own definitions for that data ( not made clear by the platforms) for different sorting methods available from both platforms. I had initially pulled the data without a recency sort, but, eBay’s default sort was ‘Best Match’ and Poshmark’s is ‘Just Shared’ neither seemed useful nor equivalent. So, in order to try and make both sets of data as equivalent as possible I decided to use recency sort since both platforms had that sort available.
@jennifereaton2435

Also, we do not use the Terapeak research data from eBay since that is intellectual property owned by the company.

Hi! Jennifer here. When I gathered the data from Poshmark I sorted by Just In and on eBay sorted by Recently Listed. In both cases the platforms have at the top of the sold listing the most recently sold items. By selecting the more recently listed sort we were trying to capture quick sellers.

It’s funny I am only 5 foot maybe 5’1 on a good day lol and seriously I have to wear low rise jeans because I’m so short 😢 hi rise jeans go up to my boobs 😂 this is TMI but the only reason I’m telling you this is because that is probably why low rise jeans still sell for us short girls 😊 there’s a lot of other things that are popular that I can’t wear because I am so short and I’m sure I’m not the only one with the problem but like maxi dresses no way if I want a long dress, I have to wear a midi and if I want a short dress, I usually have to get it altered same with my jeans I have to get them altered. However, I know capris are outs but again capris on me are like the perfect length Jean that is so funny to me. I have a pair of Miss Me jeans, capris style and nobody wanted to buy them. I hadn’t put them on since high school, but I realized the reason I had them was because they are like wearing a pair of normal jeans 😂 anyway, my long winded point is depending on your body size style, and height. People still have to buy all that old stuff or old styles because of the way they’re shaped. Also, this doesn’t pertain to you but I was watching a lot of other RU-vidrs and I cannot believe how shocked most of them were that torrid is number one right now don’t quote me on what list they were looking at but torrid is number one in most categories because it’s the only place big beautiful curvy girls can go get cute clothing because I could tell you right now anthropology and all those fancy places they say they’re getting plus size but they’re version of plus size it’s like extra large and that’s not gonna cut it. I have so much to say but you probably won’t read it. My last thing is that instead of looking for brands I look for style and feel and size so if it has all those factors, don’t care what the brand is and I’m pretty good at selling those types of things not to mention everybody likes the fact that it’s affordable, if I see some of those brand names that I just recently learned about I do try to pick them up but lately with the economy it doesn’t seem like higher priced items are moving anymore. I think everybody needs to rethink their business model and go on size look and fabric feel

Maybe more so a slimmer look - mid 90s saw a mid to late 70s resurgence with the "disco" and "funk" eras making a comeback. High rise flares/bell bottoms were back. - late 90s/early Y2K saw ultra low rise flares. Bare back jeans, lace up, no waist band were the trends. 100% this is the most trendy right now as far as flares go As the 2000s progressed Boot Cuts became the norm and moved away from Flares.
