I've been lucky enough in my life to have been given a Rolex GMT Master II, Pepsi. It's stainless, but it's a very VERY nice watch, black dial, obviously the blue and red bezel. It's a gorgeous watch. It needs a service and I'm not able to afford a service on a Rolex at this point in my life, BUT.. what a stunning looking watch. It's from around 2007. Lovely piece in my opinion.
That green dial on the Glashütte watch is called a fumé dial, or some folks prefer to call it an ombré. Both mean a dial which gets darker the further you go from the centre. Glashütte, by the way, is a town in Germany that is famous for watchmaking, with many watchmakers in the town. So, a Glashütte watch is just a watch made in Glashütte, just like a Swiss watch is a watch made in Switzerland. Michael's watch is made by one such Glashütte brand, called Glashütte Original.
@@perrybrasil4511 ombré means shaded; ambré means made of amber. And fumé means smoked. The dial in the video is referred to as fumé or ombré, and certainly not ambré.
I'm not a Daytona fan but, I do like the platinum with the brown bezel. The AP, not for me. If I was buying today, it would have to be the Glashutta, in green. Such a beautiful watch and not really a lot of money. I think I'll have to have a mooch online to see what's about. This is a lovely series.

Favorites from my collection are my vintage 1955 and 1965 Omega Constellations and, from the modern era, my Cartier Santos Stainless and Ball GMT Hydrocarbon, also stainless.

Glashutte simply makes the best watch in the world for the money ... unlike rolex wich make about 60% of their components themselves Glashutte produces 95%+ from the smallest screws to the hand engraved bridges everything is done by Glashutte and the quality control is unmatched!! I love Glashutte so much they are all amazing watches

What he means is a lot of people that don’t know about watches might confuse it for say a $8-15,000 Stainless Steel Rolex Vs a $125,000 platinum Daytona Same reason why a lot of people love white gold Rolex watches and call them stealth wealth ! Instead of a $35K-1.1 million dollar watch someone might think it’s only a $8-15K watch 🤷🏻♂️
Top luxury watch is the fake submariner you closely examined thats better than the original and 1/20 the price. Daytona definitely looks awesome with the brown!

I love all 3 watches. Michael, I admire your great taste. I also like the brown bezel on the Daytona, with a black bezel the contrast to the dial would be far too strong. But it's kind of crazy, this huge price difference between the G-O and the Daytona, right? The AP is also great, I really like this independent design. I think you can't compare watches with each other. You can see that with these 3 watches, each one is unique. I really enjoyed your trips to Switzerland. Will you be traveling to Switzerland again this year?
Without a doubt, for me, the Glashutte is my choice of the 3. The dial, the movement, the green is just... Wow. If this is the top 3 I would love to see a top 10.
As much as i love this channel. camera quality got to go up in this channel. blown up background is an eyesore. ND filters aren't that expensive. how do you jiggle the camera so much when you are stationary? invest on a Ronin S wouldn't break the bank would it? Im sorry Adam.

Maybe it's the colour balance as the camera is pointing towards the window, but the Daytona dial looks mint green to me, at best you could call it turquoise, but blue!!

I had a chance to buy a platinum Daytona for about 1/5th the current value back when they came out and I didn’t take it (it was still a heck of a lot of money). I’ve felt like a dumbass ever since.
The dial comes across as green, is that just the camera or is it a case of the color shifting over time? I like the pale metallic green but rolexes are a bit 1970 brutal in form. I like the color scheme of the AP, white and copper gold go pretty well together. My Tesla is white, I wear white pants, I like the bright cleanliness of white but it is a hefty watch. Like wearing an engine block or part of a safe :)

On that AP ... i have a Invicta that's "GOLD TONE" (i can't afford a gold watch .... YET) and when i walk in public, i get complemented heavily on it. A few years back ,while flying on holiday, i overheard two men talking : LOOK AT THAT, DO YOU THINK IT'S REAL, NAAAAW , IT COULDN'T BE. And when i looked up to see WHO (i didn't think it was me) , they both were Glaringly Looking Directly at ME 😨 .
Rolex "Platona" at 0:42. This watch is $120,000 USD now. The watch could be found for much cheaper than that in early years after its release. My friend saw one for $32,000 USD in South Africa. I saw one in Canada for $72,000 CAD. They are more than that today. The same Canadian AD was selling it for $98,000 CAD in 2017. But this version of the Daytona was not really a collector's watch until years after its release. Similar to the Nautilus, the value of many watches do not increase significantly after the initial release. The Nautilus could be had for $18,000 CAD at one time at my local AD. Now you need a lot more money for the watch. It may take years for the community to recognize the watch and for hype to set in.
as a huge fan from Germany, i have to stand up against the butchering of the word Glashütte :) You are actually very close to the right pronounciation. Its spelled like the british/irish accent "glass" and the "hütte" you are already saying right. But the harsh "SH" in "glashhutte" makes it weird. Keep up the awesome content! I really enjoy watching you guys and you form an amazing team!
I like that Michael goes for what he gravitates towards instead of just following trends (somewhat). Watch fans will get curious and explore different brands and models with different strap combos. I find myself reading about all the options out there and latest innovations that mightn’t be my style but as a fan I can appreciate watches that I’m not wanting to add to a collection. But looking back over the last 20+ years I can see my tastes and preferences change and evolve now and😮hahksajka ❤lol😅
Hi Michael and Adam I just watched video where you make confirm your Rolex watch is waterproof, as demostrated by the video insert where you are washing the blue Roll Royce, you are indeed lucky to be with us today!! simply because you directed the power wash spray upwards and the water discharge did not make contact with the bare Electrical overhead distribution networks parallel to the property boundary, instant death. Great selections and explanations what each means to you. But Michael… good luck getting $120k for the Platona - many under $100k on chrono and yours isn’t the new 2023 with the metal trim around the bezel.
Would if the Platona had a black bezel instead of this odd brown color bezel. It would have worked if the bezel was lighter brown /Caramel brown too. Or a blue Bezel. And for that reason, Rolex..... I'm out!
I hope I can one day buy a quality watch. I’ve got my old Seiko stainless for dress. And I’ve got a cheap Tauchmiester diver for active. It is a bit hard to see these vids. Looks like many people have got heaps of dough.
I had the Glashutte but on the Nubuck strap. I think Adam would prefer that strap. I'm team Michael on the Daytona. Love the brown bezel. The AP is my least favorite
I keep feeling a Niko influence in the background for some reason. The diamond watches are still my favourite because I like shiny bling, it's all about your personal taste. I think your holding back just a little but either way it's still a pleasure to watch and love all of the watches.
I dont prefer to fuss about watches. My cell phone has a clock on it. I am good. Watches are a commodity that fluctuate in value. Every few months and years we hear about big crashes in the funko pop and beanie baby market. Not much different. Something you buy and put on a shelf.
