As a engineer main myself, direct impacting a grenade nuke into the back of my teammates skull really does make me feel at home 🏡. Very good video I await more.
Honestly I think one of the best parts is that it doesn't actually trigger my arachnophobia, I am very arachnophobic to the point where I actually get panic attacks but I still scratch Steve every chance I get. It's honestly amazing
Feel like the glyphids are more ant like than spiders. Yeah they got 8 legs but everything else, swarms, acid shooting, bigger variations of bugs in the same colony, are things ants have.
I think it's important to note that, although you showed a cosmetic store and a battle pass in the game, *Deep Rock Galactic has no actual microtransactions.* Both of these features can only be progressed through by playing the game, and when the performance pass ends, its unique items become obtainable in the same way as all the other items in the game. There is cosmetic DLC you can buy, but it only represents a small fraction of the amount of cosmetic items in the game, and functions more as a donation button, for people who want to support Ghost Ship Games. This is definitely an important detail for people like me, who usually try to avoid games with microtransactions. Deep Rock Galactic looks like just another greedy game on the surface, and it doesn't really do a good job of showing new players that it's not. I remember one person I know bought the game, and immediately stopped playing because they got a 'gift' of some starting resources after the tutorial, thinking the game would use this to trick them into dropping hundreds of dollars on cosmetics.

We got a cavern on our 3rd mission that had two morkite springs in the lower section, but it stumped us, because we looked everywhere for the 3rd one. Turns out it was 300 metres straight up. So queue our very creative solution to get the pipelines up there using a driller and engineer to make a almost perfect route up, then post the gunner at the top to help hold off the hordes as we made our way up and down during the extraction process. Then our scout could hold the lower pumps on his own due to minimum distance pipes close together. It took us an hour to clear a hazard 2 area with 4 of us. Not to mention the extraction pod so happened to land at the very top right as we all ended up at the bottom. So very creative uses of our movement mechanics ensued, including a zip line to get to the very top with seconds to spare (the pipeline took 3 minutes to travel the entire run)
Greybeard with over 700 hours here. This game is fucking amazing, the community friendly and always welcomes new players. Try it out if you want one of the best coop-shooters out there. Rock and Stone! Edit: You can pretty much play Scout without any falling damage when you're using the Hoover Boots Perk and the Special Powder OC for the shotgun. It takes some practice but you basically don't need Engineers platforms anymore.
Engineer is still my favorite class. It's extremely helpful when playing solo for the obvious reason of having turrets to watch your back, but the engineer also has a lot of weapon upgrades that provide armor stripping. Essentially, you aren't just the DPS; you are also the debuff to enemies that make them take more damage. Combine all of that utility and power with platforms that can be upgraded to practically remove fall damage and you have a surprisingly versatile class for such a common archetype.
Engines only real weakness is lack of vertical mobility. Yeah sure you can use the pancake to make a stair case but it is more efficient to put up a zippie or drill through it.
Your friend says the grenade launcher sucks. Your friend lacks critical information. Your friend does not know you can turn it into a literal nuke launcher later into the game.
As a Gunner main, I can agree that using a Zipline is the equivalent of using a chairlift, and not the ones installed at ski resorts, the ones you put in your home. But at the same time I can become a Calliope tank with the electric railgun from ULTRAKILL, so it equals out in the end.
Excuse me but you can set up a zip line and use it to stay out of reach of the swarm while gunning them down with impunity. It’s a pretty good defensive tactic
I have a decent amount of experience with 90 hrs in DRG, and I have not played a single game that is not with randoms (I have no friends with DRG). It is genuinely pretty fun, and I have faced two toxic players who were less toxic and more narcissistic. This game has the best community I’ve seen. All gunner and all engineer are pretty fun, haven’t done all driller, and all scout is hell. Edit: do want to clarify, all scout is hell in a fun way. Like Darkest Dungeon. It’s hilarious to do, just never expect to actually win (on haz 5). All scout probably ups the effective haz rating by ~2.
My experience as a Driller main is "Screw your ledges and caves, I make my own stairs". Someone's comments of "All upgrades for the driller are just war crimes". Which. Is accurate.
Very accurate. I double checked and the number of weapons Driller has that aren’t warcrimes with at least one upgrade are…Impact Axes, High explosive grenades, Satchel charges, And that’s it. Everything else has at least one warcrime involved.
Today in Deep Rock Galatic. Sniss starts a burger king on the surface of Hoxxes. Soundsmith is, in fact, ballin'. And the scout running Hoverclock + Speical powder has achieved orbit
@@ybnby9804 I like it more than Maxor's to be honest. My girlfriend tried to get me into Maxor but it was just too much for me. This lets me feel that same energy without being overwhelmed.
as a veteran myself the grenade launcher is pretty good. its best to use when you see a ton of grunts grouped up and you should not use it on single big targets as that's where its weakest.... unless you have the Hyper propellant overclock then you should only use it on big tanky targets as you turn the grenade launcher into a rail gun with practically 0 explosion range
After years of playing multiplayer games, this is the only game I actually asked for help instead of getting screamed at for not having 100% health he entire match
You can turn the minigun into an auto aim gun when aiming at a wall with the right upgrades and overclocks Source: 700 hours total and ~300 hours as gunner
in the latest Deep Dive, it was to the Radioactive Exclusion zone. second stage, just one GIANT CAVERN. and like 7 of the rare stone DNA structures all clustered up. it was beautiful.
It is the only game where I can be hit by a small nuclear warhead, by some rando aiming for a small, non-threatening bug beside me, and go "Yes, that was the correct decision, random person with no mic, Rock and Stone!"
Great video. Looking forward to the follow-up videos looking at the content he hasn’t gotten to yet (other weapons for the classes and overclocks). He thinks he likes Scout now, just wait until he gets the Special Powder overclock for the Boomstick.
Awesome video!!! This is one of my top 5 favorite games, it's a genuine joy to play. I buy the cosmetic DLCs just to give the devs more of my money to keep developing more stuff

I nearly have 1000 hrs in this game and I'm still discovering new things. Btw if you like scout mobility, you can change your double barrel shotgun to propulse you into the air. You can also change the m1000 to make flot in the air for few sec. Im bad at it but it's fun to use.
Stalin is hands down the best class in DRG. Also jokes on you, blowing up my "heretical words" only makes my low self esteem grow in power edit: upon finishing watching this, damn...you shot me alot
The only downside I can give this game is that when the materials become largely useless in the very late game (except for when updates with new gear and overclocks drops), it becomes more about a challenge than anything else. Also, love me some driller.
What exactly is "late game" to you? Because you reach somewhere around level 100 in the forge before you have made every overclock, cosmetic, animation and skin in the game. Which all cost materials. And promotions cost materials as well, and a lot of them for the higher ranks.
Don't be scared by the battlepass stuff, new guys, it's only the mechanic, with none of the exploitation. All the stuff that comes with these seasonal battlepasses, become part of the basic game, and you can unlock them normally. No FOMO induced spending and stuff. All updates and expansions are free, you only pay cosmetic dlcs if you want, that aren't even all that compared to the stuff in game, so it's like a donation to the devs that didn't infect this title with MTX stuff
For anyone whos planning to pick up this game, solo is completely different from multiplayer, solo is slow and atmospheric, while multiplayer is hectic and fast. Best thing to remember is ROCK AND STONE!

Honestly driller is in opinion the best class, the maneuverability granted by the drill is absolutely unparalleled, the ability to shape the map to your whim is really good, the flammenwerfer is probably on par with the Gatling gun though it suffers in the ammo department which is why I have both ammo upgrades, and the satchel charge is really good if you don't have a skill issue
Love this game! Each class is distinct and valuable. New events all the time. 10 out of 10 for me. No micro transactions. They have DLC you can pay for but it mainly cosmetic.
The shotgun is definitely one of those weapons that feels like a wet slap without upgrades, and like a bug-annihilating precision instrument when fully customized. With the tighter spread and high-powered loads, if you pint it at a grunt's ugly maw it just dies, and Praetorians get absolutely stomped on.
drg is a gem i have 900 hrs in it since it released its very good and I'm super glad they added mod support i recommend trying the star ship troopers mod when you get upgrades in 1 class it adds 2x the bugs 1/2 the health its crazy fun or just increase the amount with another mod it really puts the fear of god in you even with maxed out guns
Driller and Engineer are such incredibly important roles. Like I'm a scout main and even I know that I'm only useful to Quality of Life, but definitely not integral hahas

@@Macrackle Build it for weakspots and armor breaking and you can fuck up a dreadnought pretty nicely... I play gunner so I dont know from experience but I've seen health bars disappear from it.
