Retirement in Malaysia comes with MANY benefits. Here I cover topics including safety, cost of living, healthcare, people, culture, food, technology, and MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) visa benefits plus updates.
As always, THANK YOU for your support and love. We wish you all the absolute BEST with building wealth and enjoying retirement.
ABOUT US
Greetings from the Biesingers! We are so happy you are here! We are a family of four sharing our financial freedom (FIRE) journey, including tips on how to build wealth, retire early, and retire abroad.
At age 21, we purchased our first real estate property and then became first-time landlords at age 22 as college students. We worked extremely hard to pay off my student debt. Doing so helped me graduate with my MBA completely student-debt-free!
We have other diversified investments and are excited to share more with you in our channel. We have now hit Coast FIRE which allowed us to move abroad and semi-retire in Asia!

MM2H visa is still being restructured so applications cannot be submitted at this time (hoping for the program to be re-opened ASAP)!

Obviously. Malaysia is much safer than Japan. Because Malaysia don't suffer earthquakes and Tsunamis.

Hope re-registration of agents will be completed soon. The issue is what if you are paying for an agent not registered later.

If I were to retire in Malaysia, Penang would be the only place I would choose.

Unfortunately, the government is not accepting new applications currently, they are reviewing/auditing MM2H agents - no one knows when the program will be available. Agents are not open until the full audit has been completed - they do not have a government licensed to do business. As you detailed, no income or liquid assets have been advised as yet. MM2H press conference was in December 2023, everyone was expecting the program to be opened in early 2024... then March 2024... then April 2024... now we're in May. No more information forthcoming?

@@BiesingerFIREJourney a lot of people do. Seems like a lot are in limbo, just waiting or have just given up waiting and applied to other countries. We live in Portugal but travel to Malaysia regularly .

@@tinglestingles do u think Malaysia is better than Portugal for retirement? I was looking to move to Portugal with my malaysian wife and kids. would u recommend Portugal or Malaysia & why

@@vive928 Portugal for us… taxation is high. Economic issues. Low birth rate. Lacking opportunity for young people. Corruption is not good. Outside the main cities… the place is very sparsely populated. Food lacks flavour. We are looking elsewhere to live. I would very much recommend Portugal for a holiday but not full time especially with a family.

Lmao you must be joking to retire with 26, I get the point of not working for someone. But just lying around and living without a goal can't be a fulfilling dream. What do you do with that time? Consume?
