Omg, finally a reviewer, who actually uses the product in the video and shows how to use it with different devices….. have you tried it with Apple Music lossless through the iPad? Did it support 24bit 192khz? Have you also tried it plugging it into the iPad than an external AMP? I heard that it may not put out power in that case. Thanks for the real world review.

I’m using Apple Music in the demo, and yes it works fine with the iPad 6 mini and iPhone 13 Pro Max as long as you have Apples Lightning to usb3 camera adapter for the iPhone.

Great video. I have mine hooked up to my helix m four dsp, and it sounds great. Have you tested different optical cable brands? Do you think is there any difference in sound quality?

That’s awesome! For optical toslink I use Audioquest Forest and it sounded great but that comes out of my PAC Amp Pro for CarPlay & Android Auto and the radio which I haven’t used since I bought the Fiio M17 lol. For my coaxial digital cable I use the Audioquest cinnamon, but have tested about 5-6 others. Bluejean coaxial digital cable was really good as well but it’s stiff and doesn’t look as good as the Audioquest cables.

Thanks, it’s a great little device for people that only have optical toslink on their DSP’s especially for the price. The M17 sounds so good! I’m going to do another video on it soon since I have had it for almost three months now.

@@CarAudioHorizons Hi Dave, yes! exactly the older DSPs only have toslink as a digital source but time is changing in the electronic world and I am sure there will be more options for the digital coaxial outputs along with other newly developed inputs and outputs. Spot on Dave I'm waiting for continued audio review of the M 17 I believe the M17 sounds more powerful than the A&K SP2000T I can not be so wrong

@@CarAudioHorizons Hi Dave about 5 years ago we used toslink but now everyone in EMMA uses the hot cake Digital coaxial and 95 percent use Fiio DAP for the sound and access to the coaxial source which is believed to be better than Toslink.

Hey Dave, thanks for the great videos. i am building a similar system but will be using a mosconi 8-12 aerospace. i am debating to run a M11 or my iphone for a direct digital source. if using the D10, are you still needing a dsp controller to control master volume? the mosconi allows optical and digital coaxial inputs but need the topping. installer is stating i need the dsp controller to control volume

Thanks man! Yes, anything that is going straight Digital into your DSP via optical Toslink or Coaxial Digital you would need the DRC to control the volume. If you’re using a Fiio DAP and have a coaxial digital input on the Mosconi you don’t need the Topping. Just go straight from the DAP to the DSP for the best SQ. If you’re going to use your phone or iPad then go with a Topping d10s or d10b. Unless you have a PAC Audio Amp Pro, or Zen piece or equivalent with an optical toslink output, then you don’t need the topping

Hi Dave. Sorry for my english but i'm italian. I want purchased my first fiiO, the m11, but in my car i have a Dsp with only SPDIF connection (Steg dsp 6to8). Can i connect the Dsp at the FiiO with mini toslink to SPDIF cable? And FiiO m11 ESS does have a plug for minitoslink? where is? Because it's has coax, 2.5 and 4.4 mm plug but i don't know where i have to plug the minitoslink, if i can use this option. Another things. You raccomanded, in other videos and comments, to use Rca to connect the FiiO, but if i have the Dsp connected to my 1 din alpine stereo, how can i switch to FiiO and my stereo sound if the type of the connection it's the same? My dsp is turn ON when i going to turn ON my Stereo alpine so... how can play both (FiiO and stereo) with a 2 type of Rca in one dsp (i know my dsp can have 3 couple of Rca) but how can run 1 only sound (FiiO in this case) without the alpine? In future hope i can buying an helix Dsp 3S but for now i have to listen with my Steg DSP. Aux connection with FiiO on the Alpine stereo sounds good? Just for the first time... The Fiio Players only have coaxial Digital outputs, they do not have optical toslink. So you would also have to use a device like a Topping D10S or D10B via USB with a Fiio DAP in order to run optical toslink into your DSP. Doesn’t your Steg DSP have auxiliary input?

Hi, i've heard that the Amplifier/ DSP Eton Stealth 7.1 can play music at 768khz / 32 bit. Is it true? And which input for it, RCA or Digital or both? And i don't know if i can connect one more 2ch Amplifier (Eton 450.2) to the 2 channels output of the Stealth 7.1 for more power to woofer? As well as, is it available to connect one more Amp/DSP to the Stealth 7.1 output for more speakers? Thank you so much!

Hi! I have a question. I'm looking at a joying headunit which has usb out. I would like to do usb audio. So how would that work? Would I do it like this?.. headunit usb-----helix hec installed into the helix mini dsp mk2? Or is it usb from the hu right into the DSP? Or hu----dac---dsp?

@@mrcleeo You wouldn’t be using the DAC in the Joying if you’re running optical out into the Helix mini DSP. You would be using the Helix DAC. Here is how the connections work Coaxial digital is the best connection, followed by Optical Toslink and then finally USB. If your Helix DSP Mini had coaxial digital in, then I would suggest using that but since it doesn’t the next best connection would be Optical Toslink

Unless you have a requirement for the balanced connection you can get the cheaper d10s. d10 balanced has balanced connections but is not a balanced device.

What do you mean by it’s not a balanced device? It’s a fully balanced DAC.
