There’s a few things going on this season. Players simply are under performing, lots of arm Injuries and tbh plain bad coaching choices. Then, you have poor management choices in getting rid of players you should never have gotten rid of. There’s really no point in saying “oh these guys are better than they are and can beat big teams”. Their max potential with all cylinders firing is a wild card berth. That won’t happen this year or at least very unlikely. If it does they’ll just get swept again. It’s time to restructure but that doesn’t necessarily mean get rid of Bo or Vladdy Jr

Lisa's husband, Andy here. Surely the organisation are aware that this season has turned fairly toxic with much of the fanbase and as you say, those previous trades look petty bad in hindsight. The players don't seem to be playing hard for the club (with a few exceptions) and many of the top player's body language and even comments suggest they would like to go. The coaches upwards seem to be in denial that this roster should have been at least competitive. Something in the chain has to change and it looks like maybe it will be the players in the trade deadline and off-season that will take the bullet. I think they have to get it right or the Blue Jays will return to the 'ice age' of mediocrity and poor crowds for a while. High steaks indeed!

Adkins and Shapiro must go! I'm a 76-yr-old who's watched 'em since their openin, high-scorin'' "snow game". Though Jays could never replace Godfrey, Gillick, and Beeston, who created back-to-back Champions, despite replacing some key players, they've since hired underachievers, the current one enjoyin' Major's 8th highest Payroll. In their heyday, Jays set MLB attendance records, includin' first team to exceed 4-million through the turnstiles. In all honesty, this head office is worst yet. Shapiro is more blameworthy, simply because he hired and apparently still supports Adkins. Fire 'em! Then, clean house: Open the trade phones now. Trade Vladdy while he's hot goin' iinto second half. Springer, Bichette, all, should now be marketable, except Howitz, Barger, Falefa, and, Jansen. Finally, fire John Schneider. Gotta start over, Fans. Lets bring back Beeston, Gillick, and Godfrey.

Me need to get rid of Ross, we should trade our beloved Bo for some relief pitching. I believe in our starting rotation. I believe our bats will pick up in the second half. Hopefully Springer isn't out because his bat is hot. Let Vladdy finish out the season. Just get us two GOOD relief pitchers for Bo. That's what we need. Look at the games against the Yankees that just passed. We put up good numbers until they yanked Kikuchi. That is my opinion.

its hard to know what will happen. it is very rare to have a GM dismissed in the middle of the season. Atkins may very well be let go during the offseason. on the other hand, he is a Shapiro guy and they basically discuss every move, so there is that . . . The whole lot of them need to go including the Manager, hitting coaches (all 7 of them), the pitching coach, and Atkins buddy Buzinsky.

Anthopolous has won a division title every year since 2015 (including the last one the Jays have ever won). He won the World Series with the Braves in 2021. Who is the winner here? There was no reason given as to why he refused the extension offered by the Jays.

It is generally seen that the extension would have effectively been a demotion for Alex. Shapiro's predecessor Paul Beeston did not participate much in decision making on the baseball operations side of the Blue Jays which left Anthopolous as the overall decision maker. Shapiro's approach has always been one where he talks about "collective success". To someone who has had success in a role to shift to having decisions discussed collectively, where one of the people in the room with you for these decisions is your direct boss and many others in the room are folks that your boss had brought in is a tough pill to swallow. I would have left too.

If you are wondering why Ross isn't gone, it's because it has nothing to do with how good the team is. It's all about the 🤑. That's right, if you keep paying to see the games in person, or you watch the game on TV, there is no motivation to get rid of Ross. The problem is who would replace him? Other competitive teams will not allow you to talk to their management until after the trade deadline or after the end of the season. That means promoting from within. Firing Tweedledee and promoting Tweedledum. All of their management is cut from the same cloth. I can't think of anyone I would like to promote.

After the World Series win he was only offered a one year contract which he declined. They must have known something. His new job is using analytics which has been disasterist for the Blue Jays.

A change would be welcomed, but Ross is not the problem. He literally gave us half a decade of good baseball to watch. Sure our prospect list is not strong, but we are coming off a winning stretch and still had Schneider and Horowitz graduate to solid pieces from a bottom 1/3 farm. Screw rankings, I'll take those tangible results any day. We're in the best shape possible for a team ready to retool. If Shapiro doesn't go, whoever is GM doesn't matter.

It’s all because we have an ownership group that doesn’t take an interest in the running of the team . They are not involved in the day to day . They just look at the $$$ and as long as casuals keep attending home games , they will hear no message . They were going to spend 700+ mil on one player , and shifted to IKF / KK/ Turner = 38 mil spent down from 700 Make you scratch your head indeed but $300+ mil in renovations

Ohtani decided not to sign. Only Ohtani was financially worth spending that money on, since they would've recouped a lot of the cost in ticket and merchandise sales, in addition to increased revenue of their telecommunications services.
