@@ankitdixit6073 attractiveness doesn't correlates with just a good looking face, it has to be charisma. A charismatic personality includes all the things you mentioned such as body language, confidence, self awareness (being comfortable in your own skin)

It might be different if you re-framed the request in such a way that it appears to benefit her, but not in a "tit-for-tat" manner that reduces the relationship to a business transaction. Also, you are re-enforcing her anxiety about her appearance, by pressing the issue of seeing her in a photo. If you already think she is attractive why do you need a photo? Drop the issue and move on to more important matters like personality, character, and values. If she likes you and feels comfortable and confident with you, then she will send a photo as a gesture of acceptance - as a gift, not as a requirement. Once you start obsessing over appearance, you have already doomed the relationship.

I think it was to influence society (particularly men) on how to ask a woman properly to dinner. Like you said the theme is too old-fashioned for the modern audience so this part flies over many people's head. It is still a memorable scene because it is a tribute to the traditional ways when men used to be men and did as they pleased and did not care of the woman came with him to dinner or not. Now a days it is just Netflix and chill or Popeye's chicken and Dickin'

Well I'm guessing they've already had breakfast, and they've both probably got plans for lunchtime when they get off the train. Dinner's when she's most likely to be free.

Bear in mind that the guy was a criminal mastermind who tricked a mafia boss and the interpool at the same time). Only until he opened the safe did she actually believe it was him in disguise.
