What is so traditional about hats in general?

It's a working class garment forced by colonializing extractive kingdom, and then reclaimed primarily in Meixcos independence. It's the origens of South western Vaqueré mythos, and could not exist with the crossing of the Columbian exchange. So lots of love and pain embedded the history of this hat.

I love my Mexican people, but stawhats were used by Asians too. So, I wouldn't say it was "culturally appropriated".

Straw hats and Sombreros are not the same thing. They are similar. And CAN be one in the same, but have completely different evolutions.
