Pokemon in general has so many lost characters that don't get enough attention. I've talked to length about Amber, but I think the two who need more talk are Madame Boss and Miyamoto, members of Team Rocket who are both mothers of Giovanni who would soon become the boss, and Jessie who would become part of the squad we know and love. Both only really had themselves established in the CD Drama, The Birth of Mewtwo, which I'm pretty sure is no longer canon, and the story of Miyamoto is actually pretty sad, adding even more to the Team Rocket Squad's tragic backstory. She went on an expedition by Madame Boss' orders to find the mythical Pokemon Mew, hoping it would get her paid enough to better support her daughter, only to disappear, forever roaming the lost mountains, wondering if she'll ever see her beloved again. Like I said, I thought these events were wiped from the anime's canon, but I actually saw it referenced once again in a handbook that details the events and characters in the show, all the way up to Journeys. I know it's not a book made by the creators of the series, but if they somehow knew something only established in an obscure Japan exclusive CD drama from 1998, then that leads to question if the events of that drama are still canon. Regardless, it's disappointing that we have all this Team Rocket lore that the series did nothing with, even in the finale where they had every opportunity to do literally anything and yet all they ever did was have the squad return to the usual status quo at the end.
@@Piss_Off_Plz I don't think any of the Team Rocket lore or even Amber is canon at this point. Both the first movie and Mewtwo Returns have been remade but with not even a hint of Amber
@@Piss_Off_Plz it's sad we had all that team rocket lore, yet the series preferred to use Jessie and James over using all that potential. Ash never got to have a proper rivalry with Giovanni like he did with the other team leaders.
I'd appreciate it if you were to include Skids from the original transformers cartoon. He had like two appearances throughout it, yet still had a toy. And he's pretty much only is noticed in comics, and even then a plotpoint was that a character was trying to forget him or something like that. Hell, the most famous version was the green stereotype from the Bay films.
There are so many Transformers characters that could fit the criteria of Lost Characters because the toy manufacturers keep such a big emphasis on showing off product, especially during G1, that the writers basically don't have time to actually... WRITE the characters beyond a token appearance or two. Aside from Skids, the two most standout examples being Swerve and Tailgate since they too would find more prominence in the IDW comics. Meanwhile in G1, Tailgate's in a crowd shot in one scene, the literal only distinctive moment Swerve gets is being stomped on by Trypticon and buried up to his neck like a carpentry nail, and both of these happen in the same episode, in the same scene.
I think The Penny Pincher from the old Batman comics would be interesting, he was the one Batman got the giant penny in the Batcave from, though that was retconned in later iterations to either be The Joker or Two-Face
If you're still doing lost characters I have a few characters who haven't appeared in a while. - Chester and AJ (Fairly OddParents) - Miss Slovak (Hey Arnold) - Scrappy Doo (Scooby Doo)
You should do sweet tooth from twisted metal that whole game series is basically dead but sweet tooth has appeared more and more times because he was like the games mascot so he is technically more than just one of the random character you go to Plato’s
How about a small segment on Daft Punk’s hair? Their robot suits originally had a full set of hair but they got rid of them literally seconds before the went on set.
While Mallow is the more in depth character in terms of overall personality and having a character arc, Geno is a character that is more mysterious and interesting(in my opinion) in terms of backstory and overall design. Pinocchio with lasers that comes from the Star Road is definitely up there with Luigi, Bowser, Mallow, and Yoshi as one of my favorite characters in the series.
Kind of shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the character of Sarah Bellum since she was the brains of the operation and the creators of the 2016 show only saw her body and nothing else.
I am once again requesting Maggie from PS Underground for a future episode. Anyway, I think it sucks that Geno is so antagonized by Smash fans these days. Like would he really be that strange compared to K. Rool, who, up until Ultimate, had been absent for 10 years, and Ridley, who was once considered “too big” by Sakurai?
Nack the Weasel, Bean the Dynamite, and Bark the Polar Bear would be good to cover. I'm not sure about Ray and Mighty because of Mania, but they could work too.
We need to have a talk about the lost characters known as stone wheels and chariots. Both were supposed to be in a short cars film that parodies back to the future called Backwards to forwards. Another lost character is Seven from Married with children. He was removed due to how unpopular he was and that the show even hinted at it with a his face on a milk carton
I have a request! Baby-Doll aka Mary Louise Dahl from Batman: The Animated Series. I feel like she's barely recognized and hasn't been seen in many years
I genuinely want Square to sell the Mario RPG characters to Nintendo, even if the latter likely wouldn’t be interested. Like imagine if Geno and Mallow were in Mario Kart. Heck you could make Boshi into an alt for Yoshi in Tour.
12:09 you forgot 'gets grievously injured' - I'm not kidding, that's part of his character, his action figures came with crutches and stuff. One of these action figures is gloriously named 'THE FUCT OF PEPSIMAN' too! It's also pepsi scented
I honestly can't stop thinking about Welcome Home, it's driving me insane. Update: I caved, I made a Tik Tok discussing the Lore, but as revenge I used In-Lore Evidence to unShip Tumblr's favorite Frank x Eddie. You don't get to occupy my head space Rent-Free, Wally.
Finally someone in RU-vid acknowledges the existence of Rawest Forest, I hadn't seen anyone talk about it. I think it was one of the very first videos I watched on RU-vid, the animation is awful but I love it and the lyrics are so good.
Lost Character Suggestion: Hermey The Misfit Elf. Hermey was an elf who wanted to be a dentist, but wasn't accepted, but I'm sure everyone knows his story. He still appears in merchandise, but hasn't had a speaking role or appearance since 2010.
@Zeepsterd I'm actually a recent fan of them (Cracker island is so good especially Cracker Island,Skinny Ape,Silent Running, Baby Queen and Possession Island)
I have two ideas for lost characters to talk about. First is Julius the Cat. It’s common knowledge at this point that Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was Mickey Mouse’s predecessor, but did you know that Oswald had a predecessor too? His name was Julius the Cat. His design is very similar to Felix the Cat’s design and he was in a lot of Alice in Wonderland shorts made by Disney in the 1920’s. Second is actually two characters. Charolette and Vendetta from a show called Making Fiends. They were the main characters of a web series that Nickelodeon bought and made into an official show that was cancelled after 6 episodes. However, this was because the show aired on Nicktoons and not Nickelodeon. The show’s actually good and it’s a shame Nickelodeon just pulled the plug on it and hasn’t done anything with it sense.
I have a suggestion. Profily from the web series Battle For Dream Island Basically the creators put them in as a joke, their gimmick was that they were in the show all along but nobody noticed them. They officially appeared in episode 26 which lead to an inside joke among the fanbase where people would edit them into older episodes to play along with the “Here all along” joke. I think Profily perfectly fits the subject of Lost Characters.
Y’see, Profiley wasn’t actually a lost character, he was created by the creators as a joke, the joke being that he was always there, but however he was only created WHEN BFB 25 rolled around, he wasn’t actually created when bfdi started, thus he isn’t a lost character, an actual lost Bfdi character would be Evil Leafy
welcome home is not an "arg" it's not even close to being a game it's a website that tells a story please try to remember partycoffin has said this on his tumbler
The way people treat Little Black Sambo is like how people treat Catcher In The Rye. As Madeline L'engle said, If all you're doing is counting the swear words, you haven't read the book. So if all you focus on is illustration choices, then you're missing the story.
In the 3ds ports of Pokemon Red and Blue they recolored Jinx skin purple, (a very garish purple tough for some reason). This also makes it the only Pokemon with more then two colors (not counting black and white).
I got some suggestions Hauler (Transformers) Hauler is pretty interesting imo, He was in the first episode of the original show transformers and was only there just to lift a character up after he got attack (Long story) and after that gone and replaced by grapple who was just him with a different name, It's been theorize that he was meant to have a toy (Transformers G1 was bassically a toy commercial) but was cancelled last minute which was to late to remove hauler, Fortunately he did came back and got a backstory a reason on why he left ( I recommend Chris Mcfleely video on him) Scourge the hedgehog (Archie Sonic) Scourge was bassically The evil version of sonic who was just 1 on 1 reverse flash, Anyways the reason why he was taken out of the comics was because Ken penders was putting copyrights on his characters Archie comics sued him for Breach of contract but archie comics didn't have any contract on him, The lawsuit was then dismissed, also Penders is turning scourge into a... "sigh" a nft, really. I think these two kinda fit the lost character category
Oh yeah forgot to say this for hauler Hauler has gotten some new stuff like a figure and cameos but that's about it, he was also for some reason on the transformers hall of fame, Shockingly he didn't win, What a shocker my right
Foxy seems like an interesting lost character. For those who don’t know, foxy was a looney tunes character that appeared for the first three episodes. He was basically the OG looney tunes character He caused a lot of controversy due to being “heavily inspired” by Mickey Mouse (the design is very similar), so much controversy that Warner got sued by Disney to stop using them He seems interesting to me (no I was not talking about fnaf foxy)
The Powerpuff Girls reboot was truly awful. And they're making ANOTHER reboot? Come on, can't people make reboots of relatively obscure shows like Dragon Tales or Sagwa instead?
The Powerpuff Girls is getting a another revival with the creator involved this tims, so surely that means he’s going to bring back Miss Bellun! (Maybe adjust her appearance a bit but still bring her back!)
The reason Geno hasn’t come back isn’t that Nintendo simply hasn’t asked-it’s that Square is weirdly possessive of its characters and just… refuses. It’s why you almost never see the other characters from that game anymore either. Screw Square for this, honestly. Also, it should be noted that Welcome Home is not an ARG-it’s just an artist’s personal project that blew up far beyond the scope of what they ever wanted. (It’s nightmarish to see how quickly it sprang into popularity and fandomification/analysis when it’s not even, as the artist explained, 5% complete. I hope nothing I make ever reaches that level of popularity that fast.)
Fun fact: Rover from The Animal Crossing Renaissance became a lost character because he usually didn’t appear in New Hroizons, But in the Mayday Tour, he had a cameo. There’s even a mod with Rover in an Animal Crossing Short i found. So I guess he’s not a lost character? Who knows…
i honestly think you could say that E-102 y from SA1 is the sonic series equivalent of geno, down to the minor appearances being in fighting games, not to mention how theyre both said to be the best characters in there respective series also fun fact, fighter vipers actually had sonic and tails hidden in the files, and as reference to the fighter honey from that game, the archie comics gave us honey the cat. ANOTHER fun fact is that the first level of the hero story in SA2 was inspired by the pepsiman game.
I would appreciate if you could do Endo Plush from FNAF World, Endo Plush was a unlockable character in FNAF World after FNAF World he didn’t appear in any other games. Also another suggestion is Animdude also from FNAF World Animdude was a character added in the halloween update, he was also the boss of FNAF World hard mode. He is also Scott Cawthon’s Pfp (Aka the creator of FNAF) After FNAF World same as Endo Plush he was forgotten.
A suggestion for a lost character I have is Snootz the dog from Beanie Babies 2.0. In 2008, Ty made a Webkinz-like virtual pet game called Beanie Babies 2.0. The mascot is a red dog named Snootz. He even has his own short episodes online. Those episodes were lost for awhile, but almost all of them have been recovered (with the exception of one episode.) In 2013, Ty shut the game down. Then after that, they didn’t acknowledge Snootz’ existence at all, other than one video in 2019 on their RU-vid channel about time travel. He has been contacting us recently. He’s all alone and misses the world he used to live in. It’s all destroyed now
Okay, I don't know how much you'd have to work with on this one, but I kinda want to see you cover Kat Nipp. He was in a total of three Mickey Mouse cartoons, and he was in a couple of the Mickey Mouse comics too. For the most part he's been absent since about the 30s-40s.
Idea: Cover the original Looney Tunes characters from 1930-1935, they’ve basically been forgotten completely by Warner. If that’s too much, then covering Julius The Cat would be interesting.
The yakuza (Like a dragon) franchise is notorious for getting rid off characters that appeared in previous games like they never existed, the most fascinating forgotten yakuza character in my opinion is: Hiroshi Hayashi. Basically he appeared in the first game for a single fight and dipped, then he comes back in yakuza 2 where he gets the best track in the entire game only to be never mentioned in the mainline series ever again. His other two appearances were in "Dead souls" where he was the patient 0, and lastly he got the role of one of the shinsengumi leaders in "Ishin" only to be replaced in the remake. My boy Hayashi got done dirty over the year.
