So Judas the Iscariot was not a traitor then?
@celsus7979
@celsus7979 2 месяца назад
Ofcourse Judas was not a traitor. He was the one Jesus trusted to be able to do what needed to be done. When the authors of the gospels tried to convert the Roman world, they had to distance themselves from the Israelites who were revolting. Telling Romans that they were responsible was not an option so they shifted the blame to the Israelites by using the name Judas which comes from Judea, implying jews were responsible.

Jesus knew what his purpose was on Earth and stated so to His followers. He was preparing for it before and during the Last Supper, Jesus knew what was to happen, who all would play a part, and why. It had to be done to fulfill the prophecy. I have never blamed Judas or Pilate as they were simply carrying out their parts.

What happened to Our Lord during the Passion is not even close to what has been showed to us during all these years. There are still descendants of those generations in that region and learned what happened to Jesus when He was on earth. From the beatings he received His flesh was hanging off his body and he was in excruciating pains and silently in tears. When He said “I THIRST” they took a very dirty piece of cloth soaked with sewage water and presented it to HIM 😭😭😭😭😭😭 on a long pole. The stench from the cloth caused people to cover their nose and this is why in Addis Ababa Ethiopia 🇪🇹 a special incense not smelling great is burned every Holy Friday 😭😭😭😭! Yes Jesus has asked his Father to forgive those bloodthirsty beasts . Without a doubt His Father did however all that were involved in this horrific crime paid a very harsh price for what they did. The consequences have been very harsh throughout their generations. Il bet those that falsely accused Our Lord wouldn’t dare try this a second time. Gid the Father’s anger is immeasurable. Glory and Praise to you my Lord Jesus Christ KING OF THE UNIVERSE ❤❤❤ May your Cross be my light and my salvation. +++

I read an extra-canonical writing about him and there was a story about the Roman Emperor Tiberius suffering from an illness. He called upon everyone asking for the best healers in the Empire. Of course, the visiting jews in Rome told him about Jesus and his miracles. The emperor sent envoys to bring Jesus but it's already too late. He was already crucified. When word reached Tiberius he was wrathful to Pilate and had him sent back to Rome in chains (also in a twist of irony he was also wearing the same purple robe that was placed on Jesus) When he was brought before the wrathful emperor, his rage disappeared all of a sudden. But then when Pilate was removed from sight his anger will return. This happened multiple times until they realized that the robe is what causes this calm. Once it was removed from him he was sentenced to death but before his execution he took his own life (further confirming some of the Christian testimony circulating in the internet regarding Pilate and how they saw him in hell and how he died) They said he never really cared about Jesus, for him he's just another potential enemy of Rome who will be "forgotten in a week" despite his magnanimity.
@Cornbread-gi6kt
@Cornbread-gi6kt Месяц назад
@@mcbrians.8508 I read something similar to that years ago too. It was determined later to have been an interpretation of someone’s writing of information they acquired through ‘hearsay’ at the time. Of course that story was inspirational into ‘somewhat’ making of a movie ‘The Robe’ staring Victor Mature and other staring cast members. They coupled the theory with the woman who touched the ‘hem’ of Jesus’ robe and became well, and the Roman guards who heard about that moment too and cast lots for Jesus’ garments at the cross. But overall there’s no historical evidence that the rob had any significance after the death of Jesus, which some actually believe is the ‘Holy Grail’ and not a cup.

@JesusRunsMyHouse Месяц назад
As did the Centurion who stabbed him with his spear after he had already died on the cross. His letters at the end of his life stated that even through the torture and degradation he still remained calm and accepting of his fate and when on the cross when Jesus said Father forgive them he said nobody had ever asked for their tortureres to be forgiven but cursed them and their children and never once did Jesus cry. Jesus reaction made the Centurion question everything he had been told about Jesus!
@Cornbread-gi6kt
@Cornbread-gi6kt Месяц назад
@@JesusRunsMyHouse I read and found out slightly differently. After Jesus died the centurions were ‘gambling’ with each other for the Garments Jesus wore, Jesus wore quality clothing including the robe. One of the centurions was more mindful than the others how everything seemed strange after Jesus died. Jesus was put on the cross Wednesday evening, and died Thursday morning, then Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week Sunday Morning. Contrary to popular traditions that Jesus was ‘stone faced’ on the cross, Jesus did ‘cry’ while on the cross, there were tears, as anyone would in that kind of pain and suffering, which also demonstrated to us how much pain He bore for us. The centurion was wondering why Jesus died so soon and Pontius Pilate thought the same.

Pilot didn't kill Jesus. God used the Jews to kill Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so that we have a path to Heaven. Pilot didn't want to kill Jesus. The Jews wanted Jesus crucified. Why would God punish Pilot for God's plan? When Jesus died, there was a great earthquake. I think Pilot knew they had just crucified the son of God. Maybe Pilot begged God for forgiveness. Why wouldn't Jesus forgive Pilot?
@celsus7979
@celsus7979 2 месяца назад
I think you mean Pilatus (Pilate in english). The earthquake story is fiction, just like the dead that were supposed to have risen from their graves and enter Jerusalem. If these things happened it would have been known from sources such as Josephus. After all, the dead rising from graves and walking around is onevif those things that gets talked about. The writer of this fictional part wants Jesus' death and resurrection to be accompanied by other miracles to maximize the chance of converting people. In those days telling lies about the past was perfectly acceptable if it was needed to achieve a higher goal. Conversion of sinners was the highest of goals, so take the stories not 100% literal but spiced up for noble reasons.

If Pontous Pilate hadn't sentenced Jesus to crucifiction, then how would Jesus have risen from the dead and the cross became the symbol of christianity? Whst would have happened if Jesus had escaped and married Mary, had kids, and lived a nice good life, dying of old age or of pneumonia? How would that have changed Christianity? I've even read the Gospel of Judas, obviously not written by Judas, but neither were most of the original four gospels. But the Gospel of Judas reveals that Jesus told Judas that he had to betray him so to allow him to escape his clothes and leave his earthly skin to become pure spirit. So Judas did what he was told because otherwise, Jesus could not fulfill God's plan, right?
@jerryappleton6855
@jerryappleton6855 2 месяца назад
1) "What would be the difference if Jesus hadn't died and lived a long life?" Jesus was (and still is) the only human that never sinned. Therefore, in this life, He had the right to the Spirit of God (to energise and move His own human nature to goodness and holiness) and in the 2nd life, He has the right to heaven and rebirth. Being pure, He decided to take all of God's righteous wrath for ALL human sin upon himself. So by suffering the most unjust death, taking on the most cruel suffering, being condemned and killed by the most painful means, when He got to heaven, He had the right to let His death be the payment for sin. So now, when God sees us, He sees our humanity. And when He sees our humanity, He sees Christ: pure, holy and all sins paid for. If He didn't suffer thay death, there would have been no punishment. Jesus would have entered heaven without pain or punishment, and therefore have suffered nothing. And having suffered nothing, He would have nothing to pay for human sin. His perfect life of love would have fell short of perfection. But by STILL LOVING the evil Jews that betrayed him, tortured him and killed Him, He truly lived the perfect life of Love. In short: His evil death + His pure sinless life + His continued love for His enemies when they were perfectly unjust and cruel = the right (merit earned) for that death to be payment for all sin. He took on a perfectly evil wrath without deserving it. Therefore, He has the right for that perfect wrath to be the payment all humans deserve (satisfying God's wrath and justice). For God to be perfect, He has to be Just. To be Just, is to punish crimes and reward goodness (merit earned). Christ's perfect life of love (Perfect by still loving as He was betrayed and put to the worst death) gave Him merit that needed to be rewarded by God (to fulfil Justice). So by rewarding Christ's perfect goodness (merit) by giving Him His request for His death to be payment for all sin, not only does this demonstrate Christ's perfection, but the punishment and pain due has already been lived out on Christ. All punishment is still given, but instead of falling on all of us who deserve it, it has been delivered and lived out in Christ's death. 2) "What's about Judas". God didn't make Judas betray Jesus. But He used his free will for good: he used his avarice and betrayal to lead to the crucifixion (that would allow the payment of all sin forever, freeing humanity from both their just punishment after death, and the purity and right to receive the Spirit of God into their own spirit, so they can be regenerated in this life to holiness).

Dêâth is the ultimate price. It’s the only thing that absolves all debts, whether it’s outstanding unpaid loans, crimes, earthly suffering, an ultimatum worse than déâth, etc. Jesus was around his peak prime physical and mental health in those years (and theres some truth in there today)so it was THE price. When you pay the ultimate price, everything you’ve done is amplified. Think about how people talk about others at a funeral. It talks to the heart in people’s chest and unlocks the full strength of emotions. The ultimate grief, the ultimate anger, the ultimate love, the ultimate desire to see that person (missing someone), etc. All that being said, you’re right. It order to span over 2000 years and keep him alive, he had to pay that price. Because it’s the ultimate form of truth for words. Like the 500+ witnesses that paid the price for truth. Their testimonials became gold because they paid the price to make those words truthful. Even more interesting is what would’ve happened if people gave their testimony and went on with their life? It’s not as powerful. We have thousands and thousands of psychological, sociological, and biological studies to point to about human behavior. When faced with the option of life or dèáth, people will do unthinkable things to choose life. They’ll more likely to violate all 10 commandments at once. They saw Jesus rise. And they knew the importance of what they needed to do in order to tell that truth forever. Think how many did see him rise and chose to live with their lie as well. Makes it even more compelling. All of that had to happen. As Christ said, he was not if this planet. For Judas, from what we know now about human psychology, it’s less likely that he told him to do it as in ordered him to do it, but told Judas that he is going to do it no matter what. Why? It’s indirectly signaling to Judas that he will be forgiven. If you’ve ever had a friend that asks you for advice with someone they’re dating, you tell them over and over they’re not good for them, but you’ve warned them before and they still did what they were going to do, it’s similar to that. So the equivalent is you saying, you’re going to get back with them again and it has to happen in order for you to see why they’re aren’t good for them. I can tell you not to touch the flame and it’s hot, but you’re going to do it anyways and you have to in order to realize why you shouldn’t touch fire. Jesus knew his words wouldn’t matter to Judas (or any human for that matter) until Jesus fulfilled the prophecy. Jesus’ plan was never to live out his life to old age with Mary or have kids….it was to suffer. He invited it by going to synagogues and fearlessly approaching those that opposed him most.

I don’t agree. Jesus gave up his will as a man in the garden of Gethsemane. Here are verses of Jesus prayer: ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭36‬, ‭38‬-‭39‬, ‭42‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.”

@@StevenCovey-ct3sx Let's read the actual context of the verse rather than the verse by itself. TAKE UP THE CROSS AND FOLLOW HIM Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom." This is a spiritual teaching. Jesus is saying an offensive statement. Jesus is saying that those "some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom" are the condomned who have no idea what death is. If the condomned believe death is awful, then that is absolutely nothing compared to losing their souls at the coming of the Son of Man. Jesus is stating how ignorant to the Gospel some of them are despite His free gift of grace through faith because He is love. This singular verse is not saying some people will live on earth for eternity. The Bible directly states over, and over, and over again that our bodies are all doomed to die in this world. It is written. But those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, He died on the cross for our sins, and He rose from the grave shall not perish but have eternal life. It is clearly stated throughout the Bible from beginning to end.

Despite what the majority of Christians say, Pilate wasn't to blame. Blind sheep leading blind sheep. Jesus warned about judging. Many points the finger at every nation being Babylon and every leader as Antichrist. Truly sad, the state of the church, these days. That which was supposed to be the most understanding and comforting turned out to be the most stubborn and foolish. And the faith wonders why God pulled his grace away from her. Good is now evil and evil is now good. Amen to that, I guess...

Was he compromised, was he pressured, did he lack courage, it appears so but he made a judgement - "I find no fault in Him" and passed the authority over to the people since the matter 'was out of his hands'. I pray that he did repent before he died.

The Bible doesn’t say what happened to Pontius Pilate. Pilate may have been a believer in Jesus all along, he admired Jesus’ courage and asked Jesus what ‘truth’ was. But, Pilate was under pressure by the Jews who ‘suddenly’ claimed that Caesar was their king now, which the Jews never proclaimed before. And Pilate was surprised that Jesus had unusually died so quickly which was a example of Pilates interest in Jesus(Mark 15:14), in contrast to Gallio, a judge, who showed no interest whatsoever when the people beat Sosthenes the synagogue ruler(Acts 18:17).🤷🏼

Had Jesus not been crucified, Christianity would just remain a small following and likely be shrouded in mystery, and the empire would remained Pagan; his death provided the spiritual charge needed to bring the love and mercy of Christ to the world. I also realized that what the Sanhedrin did was illegal in that they were only allowed to assemble and review judicial cases when it was daytime. I don’t think the whole Sanhedrin supported the death of Jesus (take Joseph of Arithmethea for example). Jesus was betrayed and arrested between the hours of 3 AM - 6 AM, during the hours of darkness, which was why Jesus kept the night watch. Jesus even told the chief priests, temple officers, and elders who came to arrest him, “Every day I was with you in the temple, and not did you stretch out your hands against Me; *but this is your hour, and the power of the darkness*.” (Luke 22:53) Light had came into the world, but men loved darkness rather than the light, for their deeds were evil.. He told them to walk while they had the light, for night was coming when no man must work.

Had he refused to crucify Jesus, he might have vindicated Himself from evil in the eyes of the Father. This would have shown that his heart desired righteousness. Now we all know that Jesus crucifixion was mandatory, and the Father may have visited him with a heavenly messenger, commending him for his commitment to righteousness, but instructing him to give in to the Jews. Or the Lord’s case might have ascended in the court system. Procula’s dream is evidence of the Lord’s mercy, offering Pilate an opportunity to stand firm against what he knew to be wrong. Regardless, Pilate did have a choice. And he made it. He was not guiltless.

Pontus Pilate had no control of the events that were prophetically unfolding anymore than Judas. Had he released Pilate or had Judus not been avaricious for the 30 pieces of silver, and unwilling to betray Jesus, there’d be no forgiveness of sins as it was told the suffering servant must die. The characters were cast and the passionate drama had to play itself out, as God ordained it, who gave his only begotten son…

There is a lot of debate about this, but most accounts that tell of Pilate's tragic fate were written hundreds of years after the fact and are historically unreliable. Of all the Roman Governors of Judea, Pilate was one of the longest in his position. By the time he was removed, Pilate would be governor of Judea for over ten years which for any other province in the Roman Empire, would probably be considered time for reassignment, not an execution, regardless of the circumstances. That tells us a number of things about Pilate. Number one, he had a clear understanding of what was too heavy-handed. In fact, it is recorded that Pilate was talked down from enforcing the Imperial Cult on the Jews which was demanded of him as Roman governor. Pilate realized that to do so was impossible to enforce, and he backed off given the Jews in that instance had protested peacefully. He released all of the Jews involved in the incident. This tells us he was reasonable for a Roman and for a pagan. He was not a monster. He did his job where he was expected to keep the peace over a people whose whole worldview and understanding of their religion revolved around independence from Rome and them ruling the world, something that Rome would kill thousands for and himself in the process if he failed to keep the peace. That's the position from a point of power that forces us to look at Pilate from his personal circumstances. Second, remember that Jesus, from BEFORE HE CREATED THE UNIVERSE, chose Pilate to be the judge at his own trial, and yet Jesus never condemned Pilate explicitly. The Jewish leaders under the influence of Satan and all of his demons, who were jealous of Jesus, were the ones truly guilty for sending Jesus to the Cross, even though the trial happened under Roman law. Pilate may have heard of who Jesus was and the things that he did, but he never asked for a miracle (unlike Herod). Pilate spends maybe an hour with Jesus at most, and Jesus, for almost the entire time of his trial is absolutely silent when the Jewish leaders are hurling horrible accusations towards Jesus' way. Pilate realizes that Jesus is innocent, and so he tries to get him released, but not before the religious leaders and all the other power players in Jerusalem rile up a mob. When that happens, Pilate realized for the first time how little control over the situation he actually had in Judea. From a strictly human perspective, Pilate absolutely had his hands tied and it was God's plan from the start that Jesus would die. This was Jerusalem at Passover, the biggest Jewish holiday of the year. It is packed to the seams with Jews and Jewish acolytes from all over the Empire and even outside of the Empire. It was four to five times its occupational capacity, and Pilate along with Herod had a nominal Roman garrison that was meant to guard them from Zealots and an already unhappy, occupied populace all before the invention of rubber bullets and tear gas. Jerusalem was NOT the seat of Roman power in Judea, that was elsewhere. Jerusalem was a backwater, unimportant city to the Romans that was the center of religious life for a troublesome ethno-religious people that had ideas of grandeur. The only problem was from the Roman perspective, if blood spilled in Jerusalem, it would lead to a revolt that would spread throughout the entire countryside that would burn everything and everyone would lose. The only thing that was preventing the mob from storming Pilate's Jerusalem palace was the fact that the Jews (especially the Jewish leaders) didn't want to be defiled and unable to eat the Passover. Pilate tries to get out of this situation by sending Jesus to Herod, but that failed when Herod sent him back when Jesus would not do anything to impress him. Herod had no interest in repenting or intervening (he was definitely a lot more aware of who Jesus was since Jesus did most of his ministry in Galilee. Instead of taking this matter of justice seriously, he just wanted some entertainment before Passover and since Jerusalem was not his jurisdiction, so it was not his responsibility or his problem. By this point the mob assembles, where Pilate saw that in that moment that if he said no, not only was he dead (either because he would be killed by the mob or by Rome punishing him because he failed to do his ONE job), but also the lives of the Roman garrison, and his wife, who may or may not have been there (she probably was) and anyone else who may have sympathized with Rome. So he offered Barabbas in exchange. The Jewish leadership and the crowd STILL chose Jesus, which most definitely stunned him, that is when Pilate unable to do anything else, washed his hands. It wasn't about politics, not entirely, though he became friends with Herod over this, it was ALL God's plan, and Pilate probably acknowledged somewhere deep in his heart that after hearing Jesus and what he said and why he was there, and knowing his reputation for miracles may have thought Jesus would get himself out of this situation, which explains why he is surprised to hear that Jesus died so quickly. Also, note that Pilate posts above him, "This is Jesus, King of the Jews."

There are some inaccuracies in this which seem to be an attempt to add more fiction to the story of Pilates. For example: at 7:50 the AI says that Pilates attempted to supress the truth by bribing the guards. This isn't how it is written in the bible in Matthew 28:4 - 15 It only states that the elder priests were the ones that attempt to bribe the guards to tell the lies. There is no actual record of what happened to Pilates after he returned to Rome, because by the time he had returned to Rome at the request of Vitellius of Syria Emperor Tiberius had already died. All accounts of what happened once he returned appear to be Legend and Lore with the story changing based upon who tells it. All stories of his post-return to Rome are told YEARS and YEARS later by people that were not there to witness it. It's more than likely that he either retired or was placed in a lesser known post or role in Rome. But as there is little to no actual fact about his life after his return to Rome, it's likely he just retired and lived out the rest of his days. There doesn't seem to be much more historically written about Pontius Pilates, though I wish it was. I'd be very interested in knowing more of what happened to the man that signed the death warrant of the Messiah.

Chapter 13 of the Gospel of Luke. 1. And there were present at that time some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate mixed with their sacrifices." Do you see how cruel Pilate was? Pilate was a mocker, a torturer and a cynic. Pilate mixed the blood of the crucified with the food given by the alms of the relatives of the victims. Who could eat food mixed with the blood of the crucified? Bread and circus. He befriended Herod and asked for soldiers to shout "Crucify him! Herod's soldiers did not speak with a Roman accent, so they mingled with the people and shouted for Jesus to be crucified. The Romans were cruel, they gave people to be torn apart by lions in the Roman arenas and had the gladiators kill each other. ................................................ 21. But they cried out, saying: Crucify him! Crucify Him! 22. And he said the third time to them: What evil has this done? I found no mortal sin in Him. So by punishing Him, I will set Him free. Luke 23. Do you see how cruel Pilate was, even more cruel than Herod and how vile he was? He asked to be whipped, to be worked and punished with whippings until the blood was drawn to release his face. Do you know what the Roman bulls were like? They were a bundle of leather strips with a piece of metal at the end. There were at least 100 metal-tipped leather strips in that bundle and the metal pieces were digging into the flesh and tearing flesh and skin. .............................. 11. And Herod, together with his soldiers, mocking Him and mocking Him, clothed Him in a bright garment and sent Him again to Pilate. 12. And on that day, Herod and Pilate became friends with each other, for before they were at enmity with each other. 13. And Pilate, calling the bishops and the leaders and the people, Also from Luke 23. Do you see the scenario of Pilate in cooperation with Herod? They became friends in a single day and called the bishops, the chiefs and the people. Like the Romanian circus. Even the Jewish high priests did not expect such cruelty. That's why they buried him according to the law and embalmed him. They themselves were troubled by such cruelty.
