Rest In Peace Chino XL! I still can't believe it. There are verses on I Told You So that I would pick as the music that my loved ones should play to make me wake up from coma. Now I'm middle aged but I still listen his joints with the same fascination like when I was young and heard them fort the first time. So this is great summary, and yes, Chino definitely got more and more magnificent. Showing he could do flawless art about his scars and darkness in life. His album last year, God's Carpenter, is pure lava.🌋What a loss.

He was born in the Bronx NY grew up in New Jersey and he was in a group prior to he's solo career called Art Of Origin with Kaoz they had demo's and test presses as far back as 1991-1994 this guy doesn't know anything about Chino XL yes he moved to the West Coast later on in he's career as a solo artist he was also a actor so many things he missed out when speaking on the Puerto Rican Superhero aka Lyrical Jesus R.I.P Chino XL

Bro did not get the flowers he deserved when he was alive. I remember vividly growing up me and the homies would always debate over who was the greatest and it was always Canibus, Ras Kass, Chino XL, Rakim, Pun, Pac, Big, etc but that was late 90s early 2000s times. Ironically the day before he died i was showing a friend at work (who liked to battle) Here To Save You All. When i heard he died i couldnt believe it. Still cant. And i heard he was a great father to his daughters. RIP to a 🐐!

I don't think Pac dissing Chino XL had even the slightest impact, on stifling Chino's career. It absolutely dedicated bells to his name whilst ringing. Mobb Deep said in an interview, they were feeling Pac dissing them (on the same song Chino caught a stray). They essentially were like "we're on now". Nobody thought Chino had the industry cooties and didn't want to work with him due to his opposition to Pac. Pac passed not long at all from when he dissed Chino XL. The Outlawz, who were the team Pac was putting out, were family to Pac. When Pac passed they actually went through career stifling DUE TO being DOWN WITH Pac. Jay-Z caught more of that Makavelian wrath, and he went on to have a decent career. (To put it lightly) In my opinion, Chino didn't pop off for the same reason a lot of, more like, most of, the very talented emcees out there remain relatively underground. Their work has little to no knuckle-dragger music for the masses of dumb a*sses. That, and I believe as you essentially said, Chino XL wasn't about that fake, sexually-suspect-susceptible, lifestyle and persona. His whole vibe screams of being uncompromising and real.
