Series 5 saw Doctor Who undergo its first rebrand of the New Who era, and with it came a new Dalek design that debuted in Victory of the Daleks. Unfortunately, this New Dalek Paradigm would be met with harsh criticism from fans, causing showrunner Steven Moffat to retire them and return to the bronze design. But what is the history behind this huge missed opportunity?
