I have the entire show from this tour in Detroit in July on my channel. I got to direct the house feed for the video walls. 4 cameras and audio feed straight from FoH board. Best pure rock band I have ever seen.
From the videos I've seen of this concert - thanks to MotorCityCanuck - this may very well have been the best Hip concert ever. Gord's singing is very controlled and on point. Simply brilliant. I hope there are more videos to come!
Had 3rd row seats for this show, great stuff, the only time I've left a hip show disappointing is if the didn't play Nautical disaster, they're just as popular in western New York as Canada,
@@cutchopweld5717 true, but in western NY, there pretty popular, I'm in Niagara Falls, so I've spent countless hours in Canada, maybe a bit too many at dance clubs that are closed now, which I'm sure those guys visited back in the day, it was all in good fun.
@@janspup6232 ha that's funny. I actually met a few guys from Ny state in the strip clubs in Niagara. (20 + years ago now). The US guys really enjoyed the strip joints on this side.
@@cutchopweld5717 yeah, it's been 20+years plus, it's kind of a rite of passage, I got taken to the sundowner when I was still in high-school, I had to pick my jaw up off floor, the women on your side are far superior than on our side.
sorry mean no insult but Humanity strong there will never be a replacement for sir Gordon Downey God bless the band but but love the man who brought Canadian history and lore back to the dinner table RIP gordie
best band of all time. i grew up with the guys, toured with them a bunch from sidestage and stuff. its been interesting. im 31 now. I miss gord a fucking lot
@@colins7771 This is incredible that I am talking to you! So cool. You're like a celebrity in my books lol! I am in Saint John NB and play in a Hip Tribute band called Artificially Hip. If there is ANYWAY possible to get a guitar pick from your Dad for our bass player or an autographed picture that would kick ass! Of course I would pay shipping.
I have a video from the 2000 tour from Detroit where Kate sang backing vocals. While she was good, I don't ever want to see the Hip pull a Queen. Enjoy the wonderful memories we have. Many of them live on RU-vid, including the show I mentioned. By the way...I got to direct the house video for that show I mentioned. One of my best memories ever. Sadly, my upload is blocked in Canada.
Wow - Kate looks really uncomfortable here. Adding her and Chris Brown (the OTHER Chris Brown!) was a cool idea. Nice to change things up once in awhile.
