We've a reasonably decent record when it comes to loaning guys out to SPFL teams. Off the top of my head, Ajer (Kilmarnock) Christie (ICT & Aberdeen) Ralston (St Johnstone & Dundee Utd) Scales (Aberdeen) all went out on loan and came back and ended up playing for the first team. So maybe Kwon will follow a similar trajectory?
We’re leaving it to the last minute yet again and we’ve also got Athlerico Madrid (among others) sniffing about one of our first picks. If we leave this window no better off then fans will be looking for a statement from the board. Several positions have needed filled for more than a season so someone isn’t doing their job to its full capacity.
So we all agree we would never sell our best player. ie ( MOR) mid season- so what makes you think other clubs will sell their best players to Celtic mid season? so curb the scepticism that Celtic aren’t trying to bring quality in please lads! We def dont want someone else’s dead wood!
If we were 10-15pts clear in the league and received a huge offer, we would sell him. So it depends on the situation at each club. Some clubs will sell their best players in January, it just depends on their particular circumstances.
There is a big difference, though. We are buying the best players at teams that cost what 3-4mil max. If teams want to buy our best player it costs 20-30 mil ,which reduces the number of teams able to buy them.
@@johnmcauley3042 Another difference is, we could also be after guys on the fringes of some clubs. Odsounne Edouard was nowhere near the PSG first team but he was more than good enough for us. He came in the January window. So it is possible. We aren't necessarily after the "Best" players at certain clubs, it just depends on the player and on the club. Anyway, the point is - "Its hard to do business in January because no-one wants to sell" is clearly not true to any great extent. It might be true in a few specific cases but there's plenty players out there being traded between clubs all over Europe in this window.
We won't learn from our mistakes in the transfer market as long as the same clowns are in the position. The manager must have the final say on the players and then it's on him if they are guff.
It's not confusing at all , our recruitment dept is not fit for purpose, our youth system doesn't seem to be part of any future development, it's a shambles

What do I think about the state of play at this late stage of the window? On one hand we had Hatate and Maeda (and Ideguchi and Kenny) signed up BEFORE Jan 1st, on the other hand we signed Jota, CCV (and GG? Memory from that season is fading apparently) on the summer deadline day. Assuming that Kuhn is a find, Abada or Kuhn or the right, Palma and Maeda on the left? Yang, MJ, Tilio and Forrest in the stands, sold or on loan? Domestically? Nice. I'd say most of the Scottish contingent isn't good enough - why do people even expect it to be, with Scotland's qualification record of the past 20 or so years? - and should be sold but we need a home grown contingent for Europe so it makes my clear feelings on that muddied. Taylor and CalMac are good at our level but Bain, Ralston, Welsh, Turnbull, McCarthy, MJ, Forrest? Not so much. We need a striker, a left-back and a goalkeeper, though I'd say we can wait til summer to replace Hart. To the we need a GK right now crowd I'd say, who we playing against that we haven't beaten (twice) already? We've needed a genuine 3rd striker option since Ange's first season FFS, we DO need that guy in for the back half, Oh is still getting his legs under him and Kyogo is carrying a persistent shoulder injury. That season we had GG and Kyogo unavailable for extended periods leaving 1 or no strikers to choose from. And no, no matter what Japan thinks, Maeda is NOT the point of the spear. While I love him on the wings, Daizen isn't physical or technical enough to be the focal point of our team. Again, love to see Bernabei moved on and a left back in but much like Hart I think without European football it's a bonus if it's before the summer. Ideally, I want all 3 positions in now so they can bed in, know their teammates and start getting minutes before the big KO in the summer, the cup starts earlier to make space for the expanded UCL so it would be nice to have them off the starting blocks before the real challenge hits. Between now and the end of the season we are accumulating bookings and injuries but so are all the domestic teams who are worse off than us, the only challenge is if Sevco 2012 have a signing blitz this window and come back with a far stronger squad and it's... unlikely. Get a first XI striker, goalie, left-back this week please board HH

I am constantly hearing the huns are skint but they always find money for new players regardless of their quality? If we don’t win the league then their time will definitely be up
To say GK isn’t a priority position is mental to me. It’s our number 1 priority, Hart has and will cost us multiple points. On the flip side Butland has almost single handedly kept them in this title race and in Europe as well. It was absolutely stupid of us to not address the issue in the summer when everyone could see Hart was aging rapidly, he’s now a statue in goals
It's not a priority between now and May. We've (hopefully) got 20 games left to play. Given the nature of our opposition, there are probably about 10-12 of those games where you could put me in goals for all the difference it'd make. If a better GK becomes available now then by all means sign him BUT it is clearly not the priority given how much we've struggled to create chances this season against teams who just sit in against us. Signing a winger was an absolute priority for anyone who's been watching Celtic this season.
Have you been sleeping for 20 years lads? In the last 20 years only once have we nailed our business in January and that was Anges' first season. That season there wasn't any Lawwells involved.

I realise we do need a LB but we're out of Europe and Taylor is more than decent enough domestically. So if we really do rate this kid, then why not sign him now with a view to the next 2-3 seasons
Think young Frame should have been on the bench ahead of Bernabei for the Buckie game. Can come on for the later stages of a champions league match but not Buckie thistle. How we treat our youth is truly baffling. Taylor must have played nearly every game this season. We are 3-0 up at half time get Frame, Kelly and Vata on 60 mins. I really hope we don’t lose Vata or Ben Summers who is doing really well at Dunfermline. Great show as always love a Tuesday listening while I do my womanly duties round the house. Hail hail
