Fun fact the Li si (pronounced lee she) also called Hong Bao are also given during family gatherings, special events like weddings or during holidays not just for chinese new year
I am a beginner, and I can’t get enough of what you share. And I’m from the USA, so I’m so I love with your accent as well. Love the Chinese New Year idea, love your talent!
Hi Claire, sorry I missed you tonight. The trays are amazing, luv them. Reminds me of my red n gold chinese bedroom years ago. Shame about the red dragon tattoo, but haho the rest worked. They are beauties. Thank you so much for sharing. Luv to u x
Thank you for showing the fails--I always learn from your successes and fails. I too have had issues with tattoos on the mold-good suggestion to add a clear layer first. I love theses by the way!
I honestly think the lost tattoo was a happy accident, that tray became my favourite without it! I also like the sense of depth and the three variants of gold makes them even more interesting.
I love how that gold powder acts in the resin. It's too bad the tattoo didn't work on that one tray, but I think it would have been hard to see if it did work. That tray still turned out very pretty.
Love the different textures and the bright red. It's wonderful when you can inspire yourself to try something else and evolve as an artist! I love your ideas with depth. Thinking of you and sending warm and healing thoughts to you and your family❣️💙
These would look nice in a pyramid if you turned the sides a bit of a time to set to add lights inside for the gold to shine or coins in a chest in a pyramid like an ocean theme ❤
The coins look so beautiful! The shape of the trays makes me think that a Western/Eastern 'Luck' Culture Mash-Up could be achieved by setting the coins into a koi pond design, with lily pad and fish transfers, and a pebble-filled edge... Would love to know which other festivals and celebrations you've got highlighted for 2023!
Hi Claire! I think they are beautiful! I love the idea of multi clear layers giving depth! What if you add the tattoo after you de-mold and then put a clearcoat? Couldn’t you do it that way? I also liked the sheet of gold, if you put the dragon over that gold it would show up sharply in my opinion. I wish you had done one or two of the Chinese new year videos at the end of December so I would’ve had time to do a few.❤
I just ordered Jesmonite. Is there something that you've done that explains clearly had a way in measure it it kind of makes me nervous. You are such an inspiration thank you
These have so much drama and so much energy; they're gorgeous! It's a shame about that tattoo, but what was left didn't really look like it was standing out as well as it did in your pendant, so honestly it looks fab without it. Thinking of you in Ireland and sending love to you and your family xx
Love how they turned out Claire! 😍 It’s good to know that the temporary tattoo won’t stick to resin. Was it completely dried when you poured the resin on? Thanks for sharing! Have a great day! 🙋🏻♂️🥰
If you stick a tattoo right to the silicone, then no resin can get under it to seal it in. I know that would happen as soon as I see you do it. Definitely add a thin layer first. And layers would be awesome. Anything on the top layer over resize will have a chance of scratching off. Especially if you use water like the tattoo to stick it. Also, a black background with gold and red would look amazing!
If you have seen any of Claire's other videos using tattoos you will see that the tattoos don't usually come off the way this one did. The resin usually pulls it off the mould and then a top coat added to make sure it stays.
They are beautiful. I like the different layers on the one that had the tattoo. I think the other one would look cool if you added Chinese symbols or a black and white tattoo over the gold leaf that covers 1/3 of the tray.
Love it when things don't go to plan shows your human ;) also gives me hope that my major cock ups won't matter, i'll just keep plodding on :D BTW Resin8 have a 1/2 price sale on atm ;)
I was wondering, can you use two different types of resin in the same mold, if the first is cured? I ran out of resin and added a second type to it.. haven’t seen the outcome yet…
Ahh those bloody tattoos ruined it again!! So frustrating!! But my his I love the gold leaf and red resin together, could two colours ever look more perfect together. I absolutely love they way they turned out!
