'The Treasure in the Forest' tells the tale of two treasure hunters, Evans and Hooker, who have murdered a Chinese man to steal his map, which locates a buried stash of gold ingots. The Chinese man had boasted that he had ensured the safety of his secret hoard. But just how can he be so sure?
It was first published in the The Pall Mall Budget in 1894 and subsequently reprinted in The Stolen Bacillus and Other Incidents (1895) and The Country of the Blind and Other Stories (1911).

Great narration! Have you thought about narrating more modern stories? I'm sure lots of authors would take you up on it (though perhaps not on this channel). I've started a channel narrating AI-written stories that I am putting together (would welcome anyone's opinion), but I've thought about offering narration to authors once I get a foothold with some subscribers.
