Great, great, great. Sir, you are academic. You are straightforward. You talk little with full information. Good brevity makes sense. You even did not ask for a like or a subscribe. RU-vid really misses people like you. Thank you very very much.

@@OptometryInsight I suspect my eye doctor's assistant botched my refraction (done with trial lenses, not a machine) because my new glasses work GREAT for one eye but do almost nothing for the other. I can afford to buy a full lens set for less than another doctor visit, but the affordable sets have a supplied, free, trial frame that's junky and have non-adjustable PD. [The least expensive trial frames with adjustable PD are around $30-$40, which I may need to spring for on top of the lens set purchase.] Question: If I only want to test one of my eyes (keeping the Rx for the great eye untouched) do I really NEED adjustable PD? I'm thinking for non-binocular testing , meaning just testing out my one less than ideal eye, that PD isn't important. What say you?

Hello, good to hear from you. In order to understand better what you’re sharing, I wanted to know whether you are an Optometrist or a trained eye care practitioner? How do you plan on doing the eye test by yourself?
@m.zillch3841
@m.zillch3841 Год назад
@@OptometryInsight I am neither an Optometrist nor a trained eye care practitioner. I don't need to do a full eye test, from my perspective, because I just had a complete, thorough exam and the only error in my Rx they gave me, determined by the doctor's assistant with trials frames (even though I spotted a phoropter on the side of the room) seems to be the axis measurement of just one of my eyes, the left one. When I hold my new glasses an inch or so forward of my nose and rotate the left lens of my new on-line purchased prescription eyeglasses, clockwise by perhaps 25 degrees, or so, my vision suddenly snaps into sharp focus. My possible solutions? A) With a $150 trial frame and lens set I buy myself I can precisely determine if their error was 20 degrees, 25, 30, 35, etc., via trial and error, by my viewing of a suitably positioned Snellen-style chart while occluding the good eye and rotating the side they botched.. B) Re-visit the same eye doctor, which took me a month to get an appointment with, have a fight with them about my insistence they use their phoropter instead of trial frames, have a fight about if my online purchased glasses are correct or not [My iphone app "GlassesOn" confirms, at least within a few degrees, they are], and have a fight over me having to pay an additional $408, the price for the first visit. Needless to say, I don't like fighting.
