I actually thought that was really uncomfortable. What's funny about assault? Worst part of the book for me. First time I've ever felt like that in a Rick Riordan book tbh. Can't believe everyone else is all like ' oh my god, how funny is it seeing a favourite character of ours get abused! So funny!' I don't understand.

William Freeman Sorry but I don't think physical abuse justified by 'we were worried you were hurt so we're going to make sure you are now by beating you ourselves' is funny. Simply telling me what happened in the book like I didn't read it myself isn't going to suddenly make me understand how that's funny. Your comparison to giants is silly, giants aren't his friends who are supposed to care about him - they're villains who are trying to kill him. I hope your attitude doesn't mean the people you care about beat you. There's a reason why that behaviour is illegal.

Celestino Vela she has to read them because eventually the four parts of this world (Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Norse) are going to come together and make one big problem/solution!!! Rick's already combined Greek and Egyptian and Greek and Roman and Greek and Norse. My bet is this is going to come completely together either by Apollos ending series or another series or trilogy after Apollo. Either way Christine you have to read them!!!!

One thing I really liked bout the book was the more... in-depth look we had at the CHB kids, the ones in the background. They were given more personality in this book, which was really enjoyable. I also loved how Apollo interacted with his children.

I was so sad when I finished Heroes of Olympus. I am so stoked to see the Percy Jackson series continue, although, it took me a while to get accustom to the fact that this is all from Apollo's POV! Later, in this first book, I even grew to like his cocky godly attitude.

By the end of this book i had an unchecked hatred for meg for awhile. And I think EVERYONE was annoyed with Apollo in the beginning. Loved Nico and Will's parts in this book. Doctors Orders. Right?!? But that end though. (ps Christine Pan died in the labrynth remember)

Meg is a victim of domestic abuse and parental manipulation, who has a variety of good points and bad points and overall actually acts like a 12-year-old. She's a complex character from just the first book, so I really like her and the reveal of her spying which I felt was really well done. Apollo is also a very well written character with lots of flaws, and I just appreciate the amount of complexity his character held and his constant development. So no, I loved Meg, and I loved Apollo since it took just one book for them to be as complex and well-rounded as Percy and Annabeth did in 4-5 books
