The "trick" to field strip a p365 co2 BB gun

This should help everyone who can't field strip theirs. Bear in mind this is not a traditional field strip model and should be treated as more of a disassembly.
The trigger was not pulled at any time during this video while the slide was off. Do not pull the trigger randomly while not paying attention to moving parts in a mechanical device while said device is disassembled.
Here is how to reset your "hammer" : • P365 co2 bb gun field ...
BB jamming and double feed issues : • Sig Sauer P365 CO2 BB ...

YES!!! Been trying to figure this out for MONTHS! Only common sense vid I found. As an aside, mine was REALLY tight. You had to use a lot of upward force to get it off. I took a fine Swiss file to the tip edges of the rail LUGS on the FRAME....not the SLIDE rails. Just basically rounded off the corners a TINY bit. Now it's a bit easier to slip off and back on without force. The problem is obvious. The rail lugs go all the way to the edge. That leaves very little tolerance for the slide rails. Again, just barely kiss the edges and only if yours is as tight as mine. Thanks again for posting this! Another video comment sent me here. I'll see if I can get this linked some more so others can find it.

Nice, mine was really tight also. I probably pushed the guide rod in inadvertently the first time I got the slide off. Had gone back to it dozens of times with no luck hehe.
@dsandoval9396
@dsandoval9396 Год назад
So... a bit different for mine. Putting the slide back ON the gun I _DID_ have to turn the takedown lever to the depressed position in ordeo to put the slide on, otherwise the slide wouldn't go back on as it was literally a millimeter or two too short of the open area to re-engage the slide onto the rails. Turning the locking pin to depress the guide rod giving me that extra mill or two to engage to slide onto the rails is all i needed to do and everything fit perfectly. Thanks for the video.

Just tried doing this. I tried to get it back on but it just won’t. How would I access those parts?
@dsandoval9396
@dsandoval9396 8 месяцев назад
@@alaskaj4ck Hmmm. Well, I don't have the gun with me right now but if you followed the video so the slide is off now, which it seems from your comment it is off, I would suggest (following the video) to get everything in place, as if you JUST now took the slide OFF the rail but you held everything in place... Make sure the parts are exactly in the place they need to be, if the spring or barrel is moved just a bit out of position, or something moved in place that shouldn't be, it might be why slide can't reengage. Take the time to look over your pieces and doubly make sure everything is in place. ... from here, if all the parts are accounted for and in their respective place, have/put the *takedown lever* in place, and while turning it just a bit, stop, try to reengage the slide, if you can't reengage, stop, turn the turndown lever just a little bit again, stop, try to reengage the slide again, repeat. The objective is to turn the pin/turndown lever just enough that the machined section of it resting inside the barrel assembly that it allows/adds a little "wiggle room" and with that all the room available to pop the slide back on. Again, make sure a bb didn't sneak in a crevice it's not supposed to be in, make sure ALL PARTS are accounted for, make sure each part is ONLY in the space allowed for it, make sure a part isn't bent out of place. ---------------------------------------------------------- I know this ⬆️ is a lot just to say "try again", but it's been more than once I could've saved myself a headache had I just slowed down and realized I was missing a part or jamming two parts together when they weren't supposed to be. Other than that I can't give you anymore advice. Hope you're able to get it on. ✌️

(I have seen on forums more than one comment about jammed end caps recently come to think of it). I bought 2 extra mags when I bought my airgun, so I have 3 12 round mags and the end cap and the magazine threads are semi- quality plastic. I wouldnt put your mac11 aside too quickly, I have many mags with plastic on them and I have never scrapped one. I would recommend purchasing different brands of co2 (if they come from the same manufacturer then use those) and testing them in case the co2 slot is too tight or too loose. Then you just need to make sure you use the right tool to tighten and always listen.
@RWMAirgunsmithing
@RWMAirgunsmithing 2 года назад
@@ActionKiller187 you can try gently heating the base of the mag (be careful you dont want to blow the empty co2) in warm/hotish water. Then take it out and immediately hold an ice cube directly on the end cap for a minute or 2, dont let the ice cube touch the magazine and hold it upright so the water drips on your hand , not the mag. If it really is just a tight squeeze then it should unscrew. Just make sure you let it warm long enough and then hold the ice cube properly so the endcap transfers enough heat into the icecube to shrink and make a good differential. minutes is better than 30 seconds xD edit : this is how I get jammed dovetails out without banging too hard on them.

Hmm sounds like the co2 is not pushing the slide back enough to cock the hammer. Have you taken it apart before? Also ( this might not be the problem), did you know the slide only cocks the hammer, the bb is loaded into the barrel when you pull the trigger, the trigger mechanism pulls the inner barrel back against the magazine and then it fires. It's normal for the slide to not load a bb. edit : the last time a commenter mentionned the airgun only firing single sots turns our they added a real 9mm spring on the guide rod.

Did you look underneath to see how much rail is still catching(the ones I show in the video)? It's probably not a lot but it is hard to force it by hand. You can try rattling it so the rubber bushing jiggles up toward the barrel or you can fire rounds till you 'feel/hear' a different blowback/pop and hope the blowback jammed the bushing back into place. Its doable without but it does feel like you will break it and if you use tools to force it you run a high risk of damaging the slide. In any case, dont get too frustrated, just keep trying every once in a while and eventually it'll pop upwards.

Grate Job, step by step very informative ...! Thanks to you first time "field striped" worked. I cant imagine how frustrating it was for you firs time around. Despite manufactures recommendation not to lub the air gun... I always do. I seen some dry like bone. Good example is my new acquisition of the p365 about week ago. After watching your video Part one & two, I decided to proceed with my first "field striped" and later lubricating the gun. There is interesting insights to why the manufacturers don't lub them promptly, or are skimpy on how much should be appropriate. Its very simple, they don't want the packaging look all stained with oil and have a customer ask ? What's wrong - I understand the concept of appealing from first sight. Again thanks! The new air gun is nice, but little underpowered in my opinion. One more I wanted to mention, the base plate for magazine has slots, I wonder what the designers were thinking about? Any ideas....? If the guide rod moved in and you still can't move it that rubber bushing is probably loose and eating up space. Try forcing a little while making sure the pressure is applied to the rubber piece and DO NOT FORCE UP, force BACK (need to squeeze the rubber other parts might break it will go up by itself), you might get that extra mm. This might sound silly but swap the gun to your off-hand and pinch (specifically pinch)the rear of the slide with your main hand (im right handed and rack the slide with my left so i would swap to my left and PINCH the rear of the slide with my right) that's the only thing i did different when I got mine off the first time.. didnt think it would matter when i made the video but it might hehe.

Just in case you still have a p365 itch... I figured out why people have so many jamming issues compared to other "replicas". The slide only cocks the hammer and does not push another bb into the barrel. The bbs are loaded when the trigger is pulled, so if you take up the travel in the trigger but decide to not shoot you just loaded a bb into the barrel. You can empty your mag without firing in this way. The trigger pulls the inner barrel back onto the magazine and a bb gets loaded into the barrel, then it is only when the trigger breaks that the valve actuated. @RWMAirgunsmithing
@RWMAirgunsmithing 3 года назад
No sorry. I buy extra mags for all my bb guns so the CO2 can rest a bit before shooting again. You can try dust devil bbs they are lighter.

Thanks for the answer mate ! Just a question though, before buying it. Have you tried shooting glass bottles ? Do they break or does the bb bounce back ?

@@jazzpianistparis It should be able to handle any target you see other replica bb guns take down (very similarvelocities) . I haven't tried bottles though, Im more of a can guy xD.

@@RWMAirgunsmithing or buy a stronger spring
@RWMAirgunsmithing
@RWMAirgunsmithing 2 года назад
@@Italian_goober oooof, just because this is on my channel I would advise caution and deliberate selection of springs with this mod. I agree, it works, the co2 expansion will take the path of least resistance, but not all airguns and internal mechanics (like cocking the hammer and lock back) will work 100% of the time afterwards. Not to mention the loss of performance once your co2 pressure is low, it really is a tradeoff unless you are tethered to HPA. You are more likely to impede normal cycling of the airgun at low co2 levels and increase wear on internal parts by randomly selecting a spring if you dont gradually gauge the impact of spring tension energy on your mechanical parts.

If anyone fired the pistol with the slide off the pistol wont reassemble. Perhaps you could show people how to re-cock it while disassembled so the slide will go back on. If I had a decent camera I'd do it myself. However, I gave a written description in a comment on another guy's -"Chief Chaos" field strip video.

@@RWMAirgunsmithing Yeah it moves back about a cm, but it's still not letting the slide back far enough to come off its rail.

@RWMAirgunsmithing 2 месяца назад
@@garretbyte9142 definitely sounds like the rubber washer and the metal washer are loose on the guide rod. Try letting off a few trigger pulls with CO2, sometimes I'm sure the jolt from the slide can make the washers come loose OR the jolt might slam them into place. You should "feel/hear" the difference, try removing the slide after each shot.

Oh! How does it fire now? Any issues? Id imagine the blowback is a bit more snappy. edit : rewatching my video and realizing that now I would not recommend removing the rubber bushing. the metal washer and the rubber bushing are the only things preventing the slide from popping off the back from some random distribution of energy.... keep it in place and seat it into the groove.
