The TRICK To Get Shiny Minior 

Tip for people who don’t know what to do before it explodes: Is you get a Pokémon with Damp witch preventing the Pokémon to explodes.

I just used a rock sandwich and went to chargestone cavern and just started to auto battle for it.

Guys bring a pokemon with damp since this prevents explosion

This shiny hunt was so annoying for me but so worth it in the end. To avoid explosion, either throw a Pokémon behind minior to catch it unaware or use a Pokémon with damp like hidden ability swampert

I found mine within 20 minutes of my first sandwhich. Luckily I had a outbreak.

You don't really need to attack it and reduce it's life, since upon battle you can see the sparkling stars in case it's shiny

I was completing the bbq auto battle quest and my pokemon refused to knock out a minior and it was shiny.

I had been auto battling and resetting at an outbreak without herba or anything, an hour later my pokemon doesnt kill one and I literally froze. Good thing I saved, it never used explosion but that would’ve sucked 😂

I found one and caught it in my play through of the indigo disk without knowing it was shiny and only realised when tidying my boxes that it was shiny 😮 I only caught like 3 Pokémon in that cave!

"before it explodes" thats what the ability "Damp" is for, so it doesn't explode

This is one of the reasons they give out Master Balls so often.

Shiny Minior is a lot of work, but it's so worth it. That shiny is beautiful

I originally was going to avoid hunting this thing just because of how hard the hunts would be. But lady luck was on my side randomly after starting the dlc. As i was roaming the snow biome mountain, i seen a random minior that gave me a weird look... so i decided to try and kill it. My ceruledge looked at it and than back at me and just shook its head saying "No"

important warning for anyone hunting this shiny: do NOT use the sync feature to auto battle, as when using the synchro machine your pokemon won’t shake its head like with normal auto battles and will instead knock shinies out as if they were normal pokemon.

If y'all don't have a damp Pokémon, if you save before the shiny and restart your game then the shiny will still be there, saved me a couple shinies before lol

Another tip, you can bring weak Pokémon to auto battle, that way they will lose the battle, but won’t risk killing an outbreak and don’t need to reset when you do kill outbreaks. The weaker mon (say level 25 or lower. Hell, even lvl 1) will still attempt an auto battle as long as their health isn’t low and the minior isn’t shiny.

every time I pass by a minior, I always get anxious in the off chance I just missed out on a shiny

I actually just went back and Masuda Methoded Minior in SM last week cause it was one of my favorite shinies. Glad to see it is back so I can bring it up.

Not only is Minior one of the hardest in the game to catch because there’s no indication of it’s shininess (similar to Ditto and Zorua), but it also can explode, making it arguably the hardest shiny to catch in the game afaik

The fact that damn meteor have like 70% of this brain who want to use explosions is the most scariest part of trying to get him shiny

I used the power of hunting for them in sun and moon when those games came out. Much more painful. Wish i could have hunted like this back then.

“It is the hardest shiny Pokémon to get in the Indigo Disk, why?” Well, this is because of Game Freak’s decision to make Shiny Pokemon in Scarlet/Violet a ‘Spot the Difference’ in the wild and in Minior’s case, the ‘difference’ is in an area that you can’t look at without battling it. Shiny Minior, the one Shiny in Scarlet/Violet that people will 100% walk right by it.

Use a rock sandwich (pickle + cucumber + 3x Bacon + 2 Herba Mystica) and go to Torchlit Labyrinth in the Coastal Biome. The narrow tunnels will force the Minior to spawn in large clusters. Use auto-battle and start knocking out everything in sight. Shiny pokemon can't be knocked out with auto battle. If your pokemon refuses to attack one, you've probably found a shiny. Encounter it to confirm (they shine without breaking the shell) , Run, Save. Try to catch it. If you fail, restart. It will be there in front of you when you load back in. Found one in ~45min using this method. Happy hunting!

ngl getting shiny minior is so worth it. minior is already a sick ass mon and getting an even better look makes it perfect

I had no idea shiny minior had the same meteor form as non-shiny. I looked it up and saw a version of meteor form minior with a slightly lighter colour so I'd been looking for that 😭

The indigo disc also added smeargle, the jack of all trades. I built a custom smeargle with imprison, explosion, double edge and ruination to prevent minior from self-KOing and to deal fast damage with zero chance of killing. If you want it to live longer, EV train def, spdef, or HP, or teach it a move like strength sap or matcha gatcha instead of ruination. That, or have it hold a berry/leftovers.

I'm so glad I found mine while mindlessly EV grinding in Moon. I almost didn't notice, but luckily it took one hit and didn't explode.

Minior is one of my favorite pokemon cause of how cute it is and it's shiny is really nice too

I had an outbreak for minor then after awhile my false swipe scizor didn't attack one i also checked to see it i had a mark and it did. I saved before i battled it. It exploded on my twice so i named it pipebomb after miku meme and it's known as "Pipebomb the early riser".

That ability damp and others that stop the explosion come in handy and of course put it to sleep

I didn't even wait for an outbreak. I used a shiny+encounter sandwich, went into the chargestone cavern, and autobattled until it popped up. Then I just went in recklessly and caught it in [ball of choice]

I somehow just randomly encountered one without even realising it until I saw the shiny effect😂😂

Minior isn’t even supposed to exist anymore after S&M which I just realize is a hell of a way to shorten the names lmao, but yeah they all are supposed to be extinct since they only live a short amount of time

If you want to see a miniors color before battling it you can turn your camera as to where the minior is in the front and then when you do some camera movements by using lock on and spamming it you can go straight through the shell and see the inside

Imo shiny minior is such a good shiny lile it has typical cool black shimy but i love the little colour triangles that are for each of its normal forms

Also if you can, having a Pokémon in your party that has the imprison helps lower the risk of said party Pokémon also knows explosion

I found a shiny minior yesterday randomly while just trying to look for a violet minior for my team of purple pokemon. Now it sits in my box lol but very cool looking

That's what I did with my Tandemaus hunt and it's basically my go-to for hunts with hard-to-see shinies. Lucky I caught Minor first try tho, if they have explosion

That’s how I found a shiny Comfey. I was doing a BBQ for auto battle near a Comfey outbreak, then suddenly, my Dondozo refused to fight a certain one. I ran up to it, and realized it had a blue face with slightly changed flowers (A Shiny). So, I caught it. My second full-odds shiny in a single day, strangely enough.

Minior was literally the first shiny I got in the indigo disk, it was an accident when I was trying to find my shiny excadrill

Bro I found an outbreak and I did a couple of picnic refresh to get a new set of minior save before then made a flying sandwich. There was this one minior flying away and I threw my Pokémon to check if it was shiny I didn’t expect it to be shiny I freaked out and threw a master ball. I don’t regret it all I named it Luma(iykyk) and I love it so much.

So happy I got mine in USUM. I do like this Pokemon's shiny though. :3

i already had one from pokemon sun that i caught and didn’t even know what a shiny was as a kid. As a teen i went into my boxes and just found a random shiny under my name.

I got one on the day indigo disk released (on a beast ball wich I like a lot)

Literally my first DLC shiny. Worth it. I just master balled it

I completed this hunt earlier today and I nearly broke down and looked up an easier way... Because I did it the traditional way. By just going to the spawn area for it, eating and sandwich and going around. I had like 3 phases in total with my sandwich and 4-5 shinies seen or caught. Scyther while I tried flying sandwich (was a mistake I'll never repeat), Random Tyrogue, Graveler which spawned before the shiny minior and was caught after the minior was caught, the Minior, and a Geodude that despawned on Me. I'm just happy to have it now considering it was one of my dream shinies. Put it in a dream ball for good measure.

Alternative to a pokemon with damp : a smeargle with explosion, imprison, false-swipe and spore.

You can Masuda method it too. It's genderless but it is in the mineral group, so you can still breed it with a ditto.

I think tynamo is just as hard as it is already impossible to see them anyway, they’re so tiny. Also their shiny form is indistinguishable from their normal form. Ran into a shiny one completely on accident. Good stuff

I was really lucky with minior. I knew about this and about 20 minutes of playing the indigo disk, I autobattled a random minior and it was shiny! My first random shiny in the indigo disk was one of the rarest

When I was first playing the indigo disk I was exploring the mountain area and I accidentally ran into a minior and I kid you not it was shiny. I was was so taken aback.

To quote a pro Nuzlocker,”And Master Balled them immediately.” Edit: I found one didn’t have to use a Master Ball. Thank you Damp. Now my Shiny Minior is in a Luxury Ball.

Thank Arceus, that even the Pokémon you sent out in an Auto Battle will outright refuse to defeat a Shiny Pokëmon (despite Quaquaval, not even being an actual Psychic-Type, by default, just knows). Good on you, Game Freak!

i was looking to find 2 in one sandwich after the first one fainted from double edge! Truly one of the hardest shiny’s to find but totally worth it!

I found one randomly in the polar biome, just ran into it hoping to find a purple core and it was a shiny blue core

Also the different colors correspond with different areas of the region 😊

Tip: Save once u killed 60 in the oubreak (Or the message "There are not many Minior left from the original outbreak" appears), then just keep killing and if you don't find the shiny and then the outbreaks disperses, just soft reset. And turn auto-save off for this, btw.

I got all the shiny forms of all colors of the minior. Definitely a hard challenge but glad its finally over. The fact that outbreaks are for all the colors is useful. And the strat i used was drifblim with imprison and explosion. So minion can’t explode and cant hit me with double edge.

You could still tell at the beginning of the battle if it’s shiny because it does the little shiny animation. But you wouldn’t ever want to do that method anyway because the auto battle method is better for shiny hunting subtle shiny’s anyway. It’s significantly faster to risk losing the mass outbreak and just have to use the sandwich method than to battle every single one of them.

Canonically if mineors shell breaks it dies because it starts to fade away so shiny ones are basically slowly dying
