The idea with Hylia's transformation into a mortal, and Zelda's transformation into an immortal being the "two dragons" has blown my mind. 🤯

That's pretty cool! Power, Wisdom and Courage (Rauru, Sonia and Link) touching the Triforce "within" Zelda to wish her back is SUCH an improvement to the ending.

I think these three should start a Zelda podcast. 😏 😂

Ganondorf doesn't just break the Master Sword -- he breaks _every sword in the entire world_ at the moment he broke the Master Sword.

I think the Triforce left in Wind Waker because it is tied to Hyrule itself. With Hyrule destroyed, it had nowhere to go, so it returns to the Sacred Realm. Also, there's far less messy explanations for the timeline placement than a paradoxical convergence.

A bit of fuel to your fire about Dragons serving as mini sacred realms (HEAVY Spoilers ofc) When you pull the Master Sword from the Light Dragon, you are transported to a sea of clouds with a golden sky above you. I think when the dragon flies directly up into the sky and the screen fades into white, she went through a wormhole not unlike the ones from BoTW that the dragons would go through, and entered her own pocket dimension Sacred Realm. I don't know if there's much significance to this, but its something I think is desperately worth discussing.

I've been convinced that Zelda has the full Triforce within her since Breath of the Wild. I guess I just always took that as the meaning of the Triforce on her hand because of how it was all the same bright shinning yellow and knowing that this is the same director from Skyward Sword I guess I just subconsciously took the visual cues from the late game in Skyward Sword where Link gets all 3 pieces of the Triforce. And I fully expect we will never get an explanation of this from Nintendo or any lore that would explain it. Because that's how they roll especially when it comes to Zelda 😂

It was good listening to you guys, happy Moxie joined the conversation at the end. I am not a fan of the timeline convergence concept, as we've talked about before. Such an act overlooks things like one timeline having a new Hyrule in an entirely different part of the planet. The idea that Zelda traveling back to not long after SS, and by being there, altered the course of history away from the established timeline... and in effect caused a soft reboot of the timeline could make sense that is more convenient for the writers... that's something I need to digest more. I personally don't think it fits though, it's good listening to you guys talk about it. Looking forward to part 3.

just watched the video, it makes a lot of sense, although I see it a bit different, there can be only one master sword and only one triforce, so the fact that going into the past both the sword and triforce located in the era of Hyrule's creation, will converge with the ones that traveled back. Which means that this would technically not only converge the timelines but also could erase all the events from Oot and after. Or at least how they happened. Unless!!! there was a timeline slit in Skyward sword and one will result on the events we know with OoT and child and adult timeline and they just created a parallel timeline for BoTW including the games of the downfall timeline. What a mess.

There is some interesting thoughts I have around what exactly happens with Zelda's consciousness while she is a dragon. I agree with the comment that Zelda is not "in" the dragon. A part of her instinct, for sure, is. But I don't think her consciousness is gone. It's not destroyed. It was mentioned that she refers to herself as having been asleep the whole time. And the times Link interacts with her while she is a dragon are very ethereal and dream-like. But, I think it should be considered that Zelda's interaction with Link at the beginning of the game, and her speaking when the Master Sword is pulled; that those two events specifically are her actual, real, literal 'self' suspended in a dream. This kind of goes against the notion that Mineru is correct about what the negative effects of draconification are. I think whatever source Mineru was drawing from is incomplete, and that there is more going on with consciousness. She is still 'lost' but not as absolutely lost as Mineru suggests. Which also means that, while maybe the triforce does revert her back to her original state; maybe it's not as permanent as Mineru thinks.

If certain things are destined to be constants, I do think TOTK is a rewrite of OoT in the sense that its the converged timeline's version of those events. If Zelda didn't go back in time, Rauru's attack on the Molduga probably wouldnt have been as strong. This means that a different string of events could have taken place where Ganondorf takes the Secret Stone entirely by force instead of swearing fealty to the King. Rauru sealed Ganondorf purely of his own free will, so who's to say that that wasnt destined. Ganondorf doesn't awaken because of Zelda and Link entering the sealing chamber, either. The game makes a point to say that he had only awakened (as explained by Impa) because the previous Calamity had weakened the Castle's reinforcement on his seal. Fate (perhaps steered by the Old Gods) had it that Link and Zelda would be there when he awakens. How, then, does Ganondorf know Link and Zelda's name? I believe that it's because of Zelda's activation of the Time Stone. Ganondorf, regardless of events, would have removed the Castle from above him causing the collapse of the Sealing Chamber. Ganondorf attacking Link and Zelda was probably destined to happen, too. The Time Stone's awakening differs in this respect because it acts as an Event Horizon. Its an action that "forces an update", so to speak because it "Recalls" the new Timeline into existence; just like it recalled the Master Sword into existence in the past. Think of it in terms of how Doctor Strange has rewinded reality around him when he faced off against Dormmamu; Zelda and Link are oblivious to the events in the same way that Strange was, but those events happened and Ganondorf's memory is permanently altered because of it. The strongest argument likely used against this would be existence of the hidden murals before the Time Stone's awakening. My rebuttal is two-part. One is that in terms of game development, having a seperate level file where the murals are carved differently would be unneccesary because the game avoids giving you a way to clear the rubble. Two is that using in-universe logic, there could have been entirely different events depicted before Zelda's time-meddling. The insinuation that the murals were always there is great narrative-wise because it puts you in characters shoes, believing the Time Convergence to instead be a Bootstraps Paradox. I firmly believe that if a Convergence did happen, the God's had taken the vital steps to minimize the anguish experienced by those who were living when it occurred. Thats why the players are led to believe in the Bootstraps explanation. The game does provide great hints to the contrary, like the fact that the Phantom Ganon set is now called the "Evil Spirit" set or the fact that the mural in front of the North Lomei labyrinth was observed to have not existed before by the Zonai Surveyor who had ventured inside.

I mean zelda for Aoc, TOTALLY has the triforce. Girl has the power sealed within her so thats already a given. She got the wisdom because she knows how to best apply her knowledge, with the sheikah and even modern day. And courage. When she stepped infront of link to not just protect him, but also protect her falling kingdom. And she keeps it, because she doesnt end up sealed with ganon for 100 years and end up in a whole new worlds. But yea. We need a triforce centric game. Maybe one about the ancient hero of 10k years ago.

I like the idea that Zelda was able to turn back from a dragon cause rauru has the triforce of power. Sonia and link represent the other two pieces. And they all wish for her return.

Great conversation! Unless I’m missing something, I don’t see how The timeline converging would be correcting reality. Even when Zelda goes back in time there are still 2 master swords during botw and (assuming Zelda does have the triforce in totk, like y’all said) there would be 2 Zelda’s (one light dragon) with 2 triforces. Unless you’re saying Zelda can’t use the triforce as the light dragon, but then what sacred power is the master sword being restored in while Zelda is the light dragon? Unless I’m missing something, feel free to correct me :) thanks!

I just realized watching your video that there are rays of lights emanating from the back of Zelda’s right hand as she holds the broken Master Sword. You can’t quite make out a triangular shape, but the light that is healing the sword is coming from the same place where the triforce was in BotW!

The whole " cannot be two triforce so convergence" didnt convince me at all. I just assume the power of the triforce would be beyond time anyway? I haven't heard any real explanation on how such a thing could happen, like what does converging timeline even mean ? It doesn't make sense

My theory was that Zelda going back in time and becoming a Dragon was what allowed the timelines to split in the first place, after all it would be odd if her secret stone only increased her Light Powers, considering that before that it was exclusively of Time. To note that becoming an Eternal Dragon begins out your full potential, she wouldn't just be a Light Dragon, but the Time Dragon as well. You could even take this further and say that the Goddess of Time mentioned in Majora's Mask wasn't Hylia, but this Dragon Zelda, although that really doesn't have much going for it.

Maybe what the Triforce can actually do has been lost to history and that's why Zelda can't tap into its true power.

Was the triforce visible when Rauru was using his own light power? If not, maybe the triforce isn’t directly connected to it, but just happens to be passed down alongside it in the age of BotW.

What do you think about the possibility of the Zonai originating from a different planet? Am I crazy or do they keep shoving the phrase "descended from the heavens" down our throats? 😂

19:10 the geoglyphs were created by ancients who saw the visions of zelda's tears and were inspired by them, leading them to draw these massive glyphs. i rly can't remember where this was stated but i know it was a thing. (maybe impa said it?)

Theory: Zelda lost the triforce at the end of BOTW, Rauru had it in the past (that’s why Sonia could sense “powers of light” in Zelda) and Zelda basically re-inherited it when Rauru was, um… _deleted_ It would also explain why the secret stone brought out her time powers and not her light powers.

Just food for thought, have you considered the dark skeletons in the depths. They look like dragons. What if the depths are the remains of the timeline where ganon won and used the triforce. The poes are whats left of the souls of the dead. We guessed that the green energy they use is spiritual in nature. What if zonanite is just ore imbued with the souls of the dead.

tbh the only way i think zelda could hold off the calamity for 100 years had to be bc of the triforce. in fact zelda being in posession of the triforce in my opinion is evident of her visiting all three springs to awaken her power.

I think its permanently residing in the Sacred Realm due to Alternative Incarnations of Demise's Hatred: Ganon, Vaati, etc, constantly seeking it. Like This version of Hylia made it to where only a certain Bloodline could ever Harness its full potential. Link possess enough skill and The Master Sword itself. Ganon sought Power elsewhere this time

Skyward sword link is amazing

This is all pretty cool and mind bending!! ..but there's a part of me that simply refuses to give SO much credit to Nintendo's storytelling abilities. Considering how simple and short most of the stories have been so far (usually a premise and a conclusion, and little interactions with NPCs and the Player filling in the rest of the story-burger with gameplay and self-made experiences) AND the fact that.. if any of this were intentional, the don't hint at it AT ALL! It's completely left to the community to piece together? Nintendo, from the way they approach the content they make, seem utterly afraid of people missing things! They rarely (if at all) do something that is optional with any kind of weight to it. Korok seed's final reward being the best example, or the Hunting Monster Medals, or even Shrines with an item that doesn't particularly do anything gameplay-wise or really affect storytelling (albeit a barely interesting piece of dialogue with Impa. But she responds to the Yiga Armor in kind.... with more words). I cannot believe all these interesting tidbits and details are on purpose.. I just can't accept it, haha

The idea of two Triforces existing at once is a non-sequitur since it exists everywhere and nowhere. The Triforce doesn't exist in the physical universe -- the physical universe exists in the triforce. That is why there are three spatial dimensions. The gods cannot use the Triforce because they exist outside of space and time, as opposed to mortals who live bounded by it.

the thing is why doesnt Zelda use the Triforce then to Thanos-Snap Ganon? Or why does she struggle having to hold back Ganon? The Triforce is a Limitless Powersource, meaning she shouldnt even get exhausted at all in either Botw or AoC to hold him off unless Calamity Ganon Took a bath in the Flames of the Golden Goddesses.

I just don’t see Nintendo removing the tri force it’s way to important to the series even if this is a new timeline I’m pretty sure if it was replaced by the secret stones the tri force wouldn’t be in everything that represents the royal family and it wouldn’t be on the master sword it just doesn’t make sense to me that it’s just gone

I've been saying for quite some time now, or at the very least I've had a theory.. Botw would be a new trilogy.. 1st game is us beating ganon back and plugging the hole in his seal so to speak.. (there's a distinct difference always between ganon and ganondorf same person, just different side of the same coin) 2nd game is clearly us taking the fight back to the source, the defining spark to ganondorf building up his power again is his soul/spirit returning back to the source.. Anyways I digress.. The 3rd game will be breaking the cycle.. now.. with all the zonia islands being in their grasp again.. and Zelda being the sage of time.. to me, atleast.. it seems pretty clear the next game will revolve around time travel again as the central gimmick/mechanic... maybe swit hing between the islands being one with the ground again and, the islands we now know.. We know for sure that the zonia islands where infact on the ground once, you can see it in cutscenes.. Again.. time travel, uncovering what led to the islands raising.. (the fight between demise and hylia perhaps?) But.. it will be the triforce as the central hook.

Ehh this feels really confusing. Zelda doesn't need to be the Sacred Realm, she just needs to come from a future that's a merged timeline and have a means of using the Triforce without actually physically having it. If she went back to the actual founding of Hyrule on the Unified timeline, and then prayed that Link would find the Master Sword she had, then the timelines would have to merge to make sure BOTW Link and Zelda exist. She likely didn't bring the Triforce back with her she just somehow made a wish on it while it was sitting in the Sacred Realm. It's a bootstrap paradox where the merge exists for the sake of the merge. Why she would have this ability to use the Triforce from afar would likely be from a wish or a specific decision made by the post-merge ancient Hyrulean Royal Family, to hide it away from the world permanently and only be manifested through the royal family.
