Trincomalee is the 4th natural harbor in the world. Portuguese, Dutch, French, and the British fought for the control of the harbor. Japanese even sank British warships anchored there. History of the harbor goes back thousands of years up to the Anuradapura kingdom. Looks like you guys had a blast.

Had a brilliant time there! Really loved every moment and thoroughly happy that it lived up to the way people spoke about it. Yea I believe the harbour has been and is incredibly important. I think there was a huge American warship docked there a month or so before I arrived. Interestingly, there's a restored British Navy ship docked in the UK called the HMS Trincomalee - named after a battle between the British and French off the coast of Trincomalee

2500 years ago it was ruled by Pandya Tamil king Epigraphic evidence still exists today A thousand years ago, it was conquered by South Indian Tamil King Chola There are many temples built by him here

@@சுரேஸ்தமிழ் We had Tamil kings on and off in Sri Lanka especially during Polonaruwa kingdom roughly 1000 years ago. If you want to experience Tamil culture, go visit Polonaruwa ruins. However, there were no record of Tamils in Sri Lanka during Ramayan period. Majaraj Bali, a Tamil ape King ruled South India. There were no record of an ape army in Sri Lanka in Ramayan.

The eastern coastal beaches in SL can rival any other on the island & I guess will soon overtake the south in regards to tourism. Two great guys with you on the boat. Muslims who like their beer. Very progressive.

I personally know a few guys who were in Trincomalee to set up a hostel (a second one to go along with another they have elsewhere in Sri Lanka). They were there to do so because they feel that part of the island will be the next burgeoning tourist area, so let's see. I think it will be a while before it can compete with the south purely just due to the sheer volume of places you can hop between easily, but it certainly has the features to become that one day. I'll be intetested to see how it is when I come back to Sri Lanka for my 3rd trip 😊

Watching from 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺. Such an underrated tropical island. Cannot see any single tourist on the beach😢 In some asian countries they have plenty of tourists on the shit/ pricy beaches. Cheers mate! Hope things are going well over there in Aus (my true favourite country in the world)! Yea 100%! Sri Lanka is just a dream and has absolutely everything! In the next video I have coming up, once I’ve edited it, I find what I think is perhaps the best beach in Sri Lanka…if it was anywhere else in Asia it would have already been ruined

Nah mate it was buggered! I ended up actually going back to Europe after Sri Lanka and so had to wait a couple of months to get it repaired properly with Fuji in the UK

I tried and tried to get it repaired in Sri Lanka but had no luck anywhere. In the end I had to get it repaired directly by Fuji back in the UK and thankfully, they were able to fix it. I now take my camera everywhere.....except boats 😂

Mullativu was a stronghold of the tamil tiger terrorists for years until SL army captured it in 2009..hence y public can visit there now

I've left Sri Lanka now, but did make my way to Sigiriya (my second time there). Loved it more this time though and actually stuck around for about 10 days I think because the vibe there was just so relaxed 😊

Absolutely crazy hot! I'm in Spain right now and it's deathly hot here too. I love the sunshine and the hot weather but blimey, it was quite a struggle at times in Sri Lanka. Thankfully the ocean was super refreshing 😊

Yea, nothing came of it in the end so I wasn't sure whether it was a genuine mistake or what. I took it innocently and moved on with no hard feelings and ended up having a great day with those guys so it's all good in the end 😊
