NOOR!!! This is so great! As a fellow journalist/ filmmaker, I could really tell just how much HARD WORK and time you put into this!! And it turned out AMAZING!! Your love of storytelling and passion for this (really important and interesting) story, in particular, is so clear. Awesome job on all the b-roll and stand-ups; their placing really added to the story and made it a great watch. I can't wait to see what you'll do next!! So happy for you! :)

This mini doc was put together very well, I’m from the DMV area and only found out today about this institution. I was looking at abandoned sites in MD out of curiosity. Became intrigued by this story and to hear what those people done to those patients is heart wrenching and the government owe all those affected families.

This was so insightful and humbling to see you give a voice to those who don't get a chance to be heard. It's scary to think this could happen and yet still not be solved completely with so many patient notes lying around so free for anyone to read. Great documentary-really interesting! Would be interesting to know what kind of laws/regulations are in place at the moment to prevent events like this occurring and if they are followed through rigorously enough... :)

Very well done. Reminds me of "Suffer The Little Children", regarding Letchworth. It's sad and tragic how the treatment was at 97% of these old hospitals. I don't know if they didn't care, or it was a power trip for the staff...being able to hurt someone trapped and defenseless. Sick and sad.

I live two hours and ten minutes away from there, me and a group of friends plan to visit. It's horrible what these people had to go through. The people in charge should be prosecuted to the full extent. They treated them worse than animals in a shelter. Although, I don't believe when I visit that I'll be able to think about anything but what I've heard. People suffered, and died within this facility. How humans can be so inhuman, and cruel to other people, especially ones in needs and children is just horrifying. When I visit I'd like to read the files left, the "progress reports" and see how the patients were reacting to their so called "treatment". I'm sure there was good hearted staff members that did help. It's just a shame that not all of them could have had this kind heart and treated these people as if they would have their friends or family, and how they would have wished for them to be treated or themselves to be treated. Beautiful documentary, love how they didn't just visit the place. They reached out to old workers, and patients to fully try to understand. Wonderful job, chilling and something that will forever be in the back of my mind when I Vista this institution.

Medical records lying all over abandoned medical buildings is pretty common. I have yet to find an abandoned hospital, asylum, or clinic which didn't leave all their records behind, strewn all over the place. I've even found signed cheques, bills with all personal info on them, credit cards, bank cards, drivers' licenses, health cards, social insurance cards, you name it.

The horrific mistreatment, physical, mental, emotional & sexual abuses/assaults were common place in almost every single institution in the USA. As another example, please see the multiple documentaries on Willowbrook State School in Staten Island, NY. I was overseeing nursing/medical care for the residents in group homes who were formerly from Willowbrook. These residents were traumatized by their experiences. These institutions were dumping grounds for decades- until the late 80's.

THAT IS NOT TRUE! The entire area is off limits. The entire area is closed to visitors. There are numerous trails leading into the place. There are about 8 videos of this place, read the comments. Many of them tell you where to park and how to get in with other tips. Just to repeat, there IS security and they DO patrol the area but not on a regular basis. Use stealth, be quiet and don't make noise.
