The Troubled Years -- Macon in the 1960s (1988) 

I am a child of the sixties. I remember those turbulent years. It’s interesting to see archival film footage of the struggles we had trying to be seen as equal in our city. Many want to forget those days and “move on “. It’s easy when you’re not the one being denied your rights.

It is time for a modern documentary on "The Troubled Years" in Macon.

Elmarie...I've lived much of my life in GA. I've also lived in AL, AZ, CA, SC and VA. I met terrible people in every one of those places. I also would say that in every one of those places, I met some of the nicest, warmest, friendliest and wonderful people you'd ever want to meet. I can also tell you that the terrible people were vastly outnumbered by the cool people. Every corner of this globe has scars from human behavior that was considered immoral, illegal or irresponsible...not just Georgia. Sorry to read that your entire persona is based on finger-pointing at others. Maybe all the really great people stayed away from you in GA because they could immediately deduce that you aren't...well...cool.

Macon isn't so bad. You got your good and bad in every city

So the first bus ride was a normal ride?

That's why I couldn't understand why they continued to live there it's still horrible

This make clear what Ga still going on to this day a HORRIBLE place over looked I grew up there DISGUSTING!!!!

It's really a miracle they didn't kill them young boys

And sadly...who is killing who by the dozens every year now. Its sad and must stop. We all matter. We all have the solution.
