I traveled to several dealerships to show you guys what current inventory and easily identifiable discounts look like. Not only are interest rates super high right now but MSRPs have gotten out of control. Thankfully many of the dealers are finally coming back down to Earth on their pricing below MSRP.
Thoughts?

At this point, I'm going to hit the Personal Vehicle Used Car market of individual sellers to get my next vehicle. It is not just disgusting, but vomit-inducing obscene how the Government has irresponsibly let inflation in America absolutely run wild. (Love your content though, AA.)

In 2003 26K (0.00%) and some change + tax got me into a Tundra Access Cab, 4.7 V8, 2WD w/ tow package. As trucks got bigger over the years it almost seemed Tacoma sized with a V8. Parted with it this year.

Ive noticed alot of used car dealers have swapped out some trucks for smaller vehicles. Been looking at trucks to buy in a month or so and the prices have been dropping nicely.

People can't afford 50k+ trucks, it's absurd with all the unnecessary add-ons and then dealers charging 30k for lift kits and additional add-ons. We should have never ended up in this point where trucks cost as much as a house. It's ridiculous.

completely full car lots and dealers still aren't willing to budge... well as the summer drags on that should change hopefully. hold out if you can wait, don't pay over MSRP!

Great insight! Dealers obviously have to make money to stay in business and be able to offer showings and test drives. But I’d say more people need to look into invoice pricing and offer somewhere between that and MSRP.

Oh that’s interesting, thanks for sharing! Every manufacturer obviously does different things. I’ve already driven like a dozen 2025 model year cars for reviews. But I don’t ever look at the vin for year and month of production, maybe I should start doing that haha.

I will take a tried and true, far less complex, 5 speed automatic over a troublesome 10 speed. Look at the issues Ford's is having. More is not always better.

There is a real easy way to check if a vehicle is 4WD without having to rely on badging.

Haha good point, you can look for the transfer case. I’ve been out of my last Tacoma for to long that I don’t off hand remember if the 3rd gen’s could also be distinguished by being a 5 or 6 lug nut truck, like the earlier gen’s. But I doubt anyone would debadge this truck lol. 😂

People are willing to pay. After they introduced the F150 Raptor and it was a huge hit, they learned people will pay. Also, 90% of non-fleet/business truck buyers actually use their truck to do truck things or have no reason to buy a truck, so those people pay a ton and Ford learned, and capitalized.

I see that the majority of the vehicles that you’ve shown are dark, gloomy death like, which people look at because that’s how they view life in general. Nothing Bright and Cheerful, just drab and how people in general perceive life. I’m old enough to see the change. I remember when vehicles had cheerful colors both in their homes and their vehicles. Yes as a retired Mental Health Therapist I see the changes in the way people see their lives now and in the future
