Hi Tim £7,000 is a minimum basic start ! If I was to add all of my kit up from day one to now it will be in excess of £30,000 if not more , had mine a good few yr & like you I pay some one to build them , one are for my personal use & I won’t take them to shows as don’t want them breaking or steeling , mine are all DAF & MAN with various trailers from tippers to tilts flats skellies & a low loader , your Scannia dose look good with attention to detail being spot on , 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Grate trucks, you don’t need 2 transmitters the dx6 only has 6 channels limiting you to 6 channels where the Dx8 has 8 channels, 250+ model memory so you just pick what model you’re going to use on the screen and away you go, no messing about with different transmitters for different models,, I fly model rc planes and have about 30+ planes I use the same Dx6 transmitter, just though I’ll share the info for future models, love the trailer 👍👍
I bought the Tamiya Volvo Recovery (Kit form) 1/14 and that was 900 quid. THEN I bought everything it needed to be operational and ALL the hop-up parts...2000 all in. It's a bloody expensive hobby.
Blinking heck! So glad I made my own. Quarter of the price. Yes they look good. For sure. But so do mes mine. My first build has over 1,000 LEDs on her!
Nice kits , however part of the job is building them yourself . Start your son off with building one of the cheaper Tamiya tractor kits ,he will learn so much and be satisfied it was built not bought. That's no disrespect to IDW customs ,exceptional work , not many can make a living out of making these ,its a full time job . The models are so good for demonstrating how a artic works . I taught a driver how to board the channel tunnel train with an Artic .We drew out the train and showed him how to drive it on , it avoided loads of stress for him . Be great for you at shows for competition etc .
Was on the IDW RC Customs page on Facebook and you can compare your tractor unit with the model and apart from the obvious differences they are like for like and IDW did an incredible job. Even the T "standard" and all as it is is a brilliant model.
I remember getting some fancy r/c semi trucks as a kid...I had forgotten about them until now. They were both scale model Kenworth rigs, not quite the same size as yours but nearly. They had working lights and hitch, had speakers that made actual engine and air brake noises from the actual truck models. I cannot remember who made them or where they came from but my dad came home with them randomly and I think he got them from truck stops near the Canada / USA border. One had a flat bed and the other was enclosed with a period correct livery.
The models are stunning Tim. In terms of advertising too, a great investment. What wonderful additions to your growing fleet. Happy New Year to you, Mrs Trucker Tim and Leo too. Here’s to a happy and prosperous 2024.
If anyone is wondering the trailer is a Carson Goldhofer. I have on and it’s a full metal trailer. The wood on the deck and the airbag suspension are standard.
wow, very nice models! Come and visit us with your models at the model building fair in Erfurt or Leipzig, Germany. There are huge truck courses for everyone of this scale.
lovely trucks Tim...ye i like my rc trucks and yes the cost quickly goes up on a build easily if you do it urself...ur trucks are top notch...another level..really nice
Nice Tim there done well , i like the cases there smart ,i have a fairly large collection of rc truck plant myself, have a look at lesu models tim there the next step up from the tamiya range , i build myself so cost is a fraction of yours to be fair , i also have a t-cab that looks very similar to yours i built with the 3d printed kit and base was 6x6 r series , tamiya do a wrecker kit , maybe somthing you could build on this channel the basic kit is around the 900 mark so not to silly , looking forward to this channels content look up carson 1|14 scale trailers etc theres loads to choose from
Very nice trucks!!! I am working on a SCANIA model for myself, all stainless steel, and you know, sometimes I catch myself thinking that you can buy a real one for the money you put in these RC trucks if the quality is a must have. Have a nice time and relax with them.
I’m speechless, I assumed he was building you them for free. They are very neat trucks, If I was your boy I would likely be playing with them every time you were out the house, drive them down the stairs, bash them into the coffee table, play with them on the drive & take them off road in the garden whilst sat on the trailer !!!!
wow they r some great big kids toys lol massive respect to the guys who built them with so much detail, oh and happy new year to u and the rest of the gang.
Wow they are amazing work off arts with amazing detail. I did to start the build off mine I like my Rc trucks I have just started the hobby as I’ve been watching your videos stay safe till next time
I also build these and my truck and trailer only cost me 1500.00 USD. And i also added extra lights on the tanker trailer and custom painted my truck. My truck is also a Scania with stainless tanker trailer
Wowser's Tim. To be fair it is a very expensive hobby RC's, but worth it when you see what actually goes into the details. Thanks again for 2023 hope you achieve everything you want in 2024
Damn Tim, I kind of expect that. Racing 1/10th RC cars although the chassis might not be that expensive its all the little bits that go with it. I suppose you dont need a toolbox of spares in case of breakages. Really do love these though and well worth the money. 👍
Tim you should make a parking space in your house and have the trailer on the white one and the blue one on the back and reverse it into the parking space
I am just building my Scania 8x4/4!! its my first 1/14 scale. Cant wait to get it finished. Would love a T-Cab eventually....!! IDW look feckin awesome.
They look very nice Tim, and if it is what you love doing and having price can be what it likes, but you would be getting your tug if the ministry of transport vehicle come up beside you as you’ve not secured your load 😂👍
Mega jealous if I'm honest now saving up to get IDW to build a T cab scania. It's not a bad price, to be honest. Just got to finish my 1/10 scale land rovers 1st, though.
this is brillant looks so real lights and sounds i love the carry case they both come in thats what you call a proper toy love to the max thanks for a lovely video massive thanks for this .
Firs I love how this channel is meant to have nothing about trucks but the forts videos is trucks anyway love this video and thanks for the good content as always
Great trucks absolute awesome next time try and make your own Tamiya version the great kits and half the price and you’ll get a great deal of satisfaction fun but always look forward to videos keep trucking tim
these are tamiya kits bud , there just customised ,both started as the 6x6 kits , the t-cab you buy a 3d kit to basically add the nose on , take a look at lesu models there the next step up
On the Scania T is that a non powered rear tag axle, also did you go for a Beier sound and Light or ? - Costs are high but I guess if you can't build you pay.
It looks like it says **Rucker im * on the back of the trailer. If look back on the video you can’t really see the blue T on the back and £7000 that’s 🤯🤯 😮
Know the real cost as I have quite a substantial collection of these , got 14 and 28 trailers plus controllers and other bits and pieces runs in to £1000s of pounds I guess m I have shipping containers and lots of extras plus all trailers are loaded .
