People who have lived in more than one country have a unique perspective on culture and the development of individuality. In this case, the speaker has lived in three countries: Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States. This talk focuses on the cultural differences between these countries and how people can live their best life by combining all the positive parts of each culture. Yuna Takahashi is a senior at Dublin Jerome High School. She has been passionately playing the flute for nine years and has been a part of several orchestral programs in Columbus. She is also on Varsity Field Hockey. One unique fact about her is that she has lived in three countries: Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States. Since she moved to the United States six years ago, she has been constantly thinking about the cultural differences between these countries and how she can live her best life by combining all the positive parts of each culture. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

The crazy thing is, somebody born in America, may view Japanese society as more appealing because of the politeness. While simultaneously Yuna having her perspective because she was mainly in Asian countries before coming to America. Both aren't wrong. There's a balance to it of course like everything, don't be overly humble to not recognize greatness, and don't be overly confident to stifle your progress, because nobody is a constant stream of omniscience. It's not about recognizing, and implementing a section of the picture, it's about learning the big picture, then balancing, because that is the actual reality we are in.

Finding and watching this vid increases my confidence my dreams will be realised and humility that a young girl is delivering it. Or maybe the other way around.

Wonderful talk👏👏👏But I'm still confused😅. Sometimes I feel underconfident may be due to humility and sometimes I feel arrogance due to confidence in my behavior, may I need to learn about how to make a balance between the two.

In my experience, limited though it is, the Japanese are not humble, they are self deprecating. Americans need to learn more of humility
