If you have anything to add to the debate please let me know! I feel that many places online are falsely labeling mediterranean geckos and others as the mourning gecko. I think the true mourning gecko has the spots similar to a leopard gecko (but I could be wrong)
When I see them for sale online is the only time I see the gecko labeled correctly as a mourning gecko.
This is by far the rarest of the house/street geckos of hawaii (excluding madagascar day gecko)
Out of the thousands of geckos I see on the walls, only a handful have this pattern. I have confidently identified only three and the featured specimen is by far the the most exemplary.

I just got my first mourning gecko today. She looked like this when I bought her but is now darker in color, just a few hours later. The lady who breeds them said they change color -- tho I mainly own chameleons, so I'm curious what the similarities there are!

Melissa Jones it is Lepidodactylus lugubris... but it is a morph they changed pattern due to being in Hawaii. I have a couple of them they are awesome! they sell for 100$ each because of patter regular ones go for 25$ each.

fredis diaz I did a quick Internet search and could not find them for sale. Can you please tell me where to get them? Also, are the babies exact replicas or do they revert to the more common type? I don't know much about parthenogenesis.

Melissa Jones yea u won't be able to find them on web stores. best thing u can do is go to classified adds look for them. a well know reptile classified is fauna . I think that's where I got mine... and the baby will be exactly the same as mother. I have regular mourning geckos for sale if ur interested. sadly I need about 3 more months for my hawwiam geckos to start reproducing!

fredis diaz why don't any of the big (reliable) Web breeders have any if they are available on that forum. It sounds kinda sketchy. I'm new to reptiles and I'm a little scared of getting ripped off. I live in a rural area in the southern US. I would have to order a MG because there just aren't any here.

Melissa Jones I can give u the number to guy who I bought off of? he is in Florida very respected breeder. before u buy look up there name and u will get reviews. I did business with him I sent him 400$ PayPal and waited for him to ship next day I was kinda scared but as long as u don't send the money as a gift through paypal!
