Subnautica enthusiast here, Spiff figured out the very specific dodging mechanic for the Reaper leviathan WAY quicker than I've ever seen someone do it before lmao

how is spiff so fearless to instantly fight a reaper and then whoopsie-daisy his way into the void??

you don't understand the feeling of leaving the stream while he's progressing in the story and coming back to him flying around on a bird

As someone who is terrified of the Reapers it's insane watching spiff just swim up to one and start stabbing it

Honestly that Reaper fight was amazing you actually fought the thing instead of stasis rifling it and then knifing it to death you actually Dodge it's attacked and attacked it that is honestly the awesomest thing I've ever seen

I never finished subnautica because I was too scared of the leviathans. This was very therapeutic for me, maybe I can finish it now that I know the reaper can be stopped by a madman with a knife

This game is very well-crafted from an underwater horror perspective, but I will now forever have Spiff 1v1ing a Reaper with a knife replay in my head whenever people expound upon how terrifying the Reaper Leviathan is.

It's amazing how different this gameplay is compared to other peoples gameplays on here. Between squaring up to the Reaper not that long into the game; wandering into the VOID and accidentally finding the Ghost; creating a joke %run out of jumping off cliffs and USING THE BIRDS TO FLY (legit, I have never seen anyone even consider doing that and I was very amused), this playthrough is already looking promising and entertaining.

How most people play the game: Try's there hardest to avoid the leviathans, struggling to survive, and often is terrified half of the time. How Spiff plays the game: Looks for ways to abuse the local eco system, challenges the apex predator's to a fight, and looks for ways to move up the food chain to become the best. Conclusion: Spiff truly is the human nature personified.

I remember one time I was in a similar situation to Spiff in the Lost River, trying to make a base with not enough materials, scrounging around for the very few limestone deposits in the acid. Good times.

spiff you may not see this, but if you happen to still be playing this game: you can launch into space with the cyclops. close the bulkhead right after the hatch, get out, position yourself directly below the bulkhead, and hold space (to swim vertically). press e to board the cyclops, and run into the door. this can launch you far enough that you'll get out of the map, but beyond where the ghost leviathans spawn.

Not even five minutes in and he already met the Reaper Leviathan. Classic Spiff lmao

the flying with the crab thing was great, not just because it's possible, but because it accelerates when you're on it.

Honestly, Subnautica is such a masterpiece of a game. Sure it’s got flaws, but it does everything it tries to do and succeeds in spades.

Subnautica is one of the games that I have hundreds of hours in, yet have never finished it because after a certain point I just get too scared/cowardly to continue. The others would be Resident Evil 1 and...Minecraft.

I literally had that exact same thing happen to me with the Ghost Leviathan pushing me towards a ledge in the Prawn suit. I was out of boost coming out of the Jellyshroom Caves, and it pushed me onto a ledge before I sank back into the pit. It was pretty tight. Didn't know anyone else even had that kind of experience.

The only game that scared me so badly that I couldn't continue playing, and it isn't even a horror game!

I love this game do much, it's great to see a new playthrough 😁 It honestly might be the best 1st person survival game: the enviroment is beautiful, the creatures are all unique and the story is interesting. Shame that it's isn't talked about more Hopefully you will also later try the sequel too. For some people it's worse than the original but it's still extremally fun!
