So, in response to a number of comments posted, 2Samuel Chapter 18 has the majority of your answers. Absalom was in retreat as 20,000 Israelites were slaughtered in battle via servants of King David. Absalom had very long hair and while in the woods and riding on his mule, he went under a terebinth tree and his hair got caught up in it (the boughs), and he was left hanging as his mule rode away. Someone saw him hanging and went and told Joab, who is the general as it were for David's army (BTW, Joab is David's nephew and Absalom's cousin. He is the son of David's sister, Zeruiah. Abishai is another one of her sons and as well, is an officer in David's army). Joab struck three spears through Absalom's heart then had Joab had ten of his soldiers continue to strike him til he died. Absalom's body was placed into a large pit in the woods and then large stones were placed over him. Just wanted to share this paraphrase as I find the whole story of David and his life one of the most fascinating stories in the Bible. Final note, yeah, Absalom is described as quite good looking but considering he comes from a line of gorgeous men via his grandfather, Jesse (David and his seven brothers are all described as good looking men {1 Samuel chapter 16}), I imagine all of King David's children turned some heads in their day!!! LoL 😊

Yes they threw stones on it but keep in mind they built around the area long after Absalom died .....King Solomon etc.

Absalom himself built this before he died because he had no sons to carry on his name. This is found in 2nd Samuel.

Absalom built himself a monument for himself. Thats it, there’s no body in that tomb other than one that’s not his. He was thrown into a pit like satan because he was a satan

It's 2 Samuel 18:18 Absolan, reared up for himself a pillar, which is in the kings dale: what I under stand he was buried in the woods but this is the pillar that he built for himself, unless his dad king David digged him up and put him in this tomb, he still is in the woods in a pit covered with rocks, we don't know from what the (Scriptures), The Word of God tells us.

That’s his monument, they obviously built on it to make it seem like a tomb. Yes absaloms body is in the ground somewhere but not there. Possibly one of absaloms kids or grandchildren

He betrayed his father, wanted to kill him, he was the very essence of evil, how is that beautiful?

But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him. - 2 Samuel 14:25

Physical beauty ran strong in Absalom’s family. He was nationally praised for his outstanding beauty, his luxuriant growth of hair. Absalom, riding away passed under the low branches of a large tree and apparently got his head enmeshed in the fork of a branch so that he was left suspended in the air. The man who reported to Joab that he had seen him said he would not have disobeyed David’s request by slaying Absalom for “a thousand pieces of silver,” but Joab felt no such restraint and drove three shafts into Absalom’s heart, after which ten of his men joined their captain in sharing the responsibility for Absalom’s death. Absalom’s body was thereafter thrown into a hollow and covered with a mound of stones as unworthy of burial. There is a pillar cut out of the rock in the Kidron Valley that has been called the Tomb of Absalom, but its architecture indicates it is from the Greco-Roman period, perhaps of the time of Herod. So there is no basis for associating the name of Absalom with it.

Absalom head got caught when going under thick boughs of a great terebinth tree. Joab his brother killed absalom on the spot with three spares through his heart, while he was still alive. Then they took Absalom in a large pit in the woods, and laid a very large heap of stones over him. His piller was built before he died, doesn't say he was taken back to the piller🤔 In his piller or not??? Jesus is Lord and God bless 🙏

If The Bible, God's word that he created through the writer's who had his holy spirit or active power who is the Creator of the Universe and the planet we live on and us says 2000 years ago that this is the tomb of Absalom that stands down till this day. I am going to believe his word over traditions and mere man.

Absalom built it for himself because of his pride. He idolized himself. The boy was thrown into a pit and covered with stones. Body crushed. To bad for him, great lesson for me.

To a fool his own way seems right, but he who listens to advice is wise.

This is the scripture to those questioning ... There is no mention of his body being transferred to the tomb, though as much as David grieved for his son you would think he would question where they put the body and then bury it properly, but since there's no mention 💁🏻 And Absalom happened to meet the servants of David. Absalom was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the thick branches of a great oak, and his head caught fast in the oak, and he was suspended between heaven and earth, while the mule that was under him went on. (And after Joab killed him).... And they took Absalom and threw him into a great pit in the forest and raised over him a very great heap of stones. And all Israel fled every one to his own home. Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and set up for himself the pillar that is in the King’s Valley, for he said, “I have no son to keep my name in remembrance.” He called the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absalom’s monument to this day. 2 Samuel 18:9‭, ‬17‭-‬18

Lovely video with rich history; however I did find the Researcher/Expert’s approach on answering the question of “who’s buried here” to be confusing…. I didn’t make a search to receive additional ‘riddles’ & ‘suspense’; rather I came for methodological answers. Lookin

Amen🙏🌦🌦🦁🌬✨🎇🌊 I love Absalom🦁👑🦁 For i know my God loved Absalom.🤔 Poor guy and life.💜🖤💜🖤👑🦁👑 They presecuted Absolum pretty hard from what I see for half of Israel was trying to get rid of David then. DAVID as an young boy wasn't just keeper of sheep he also was keeper of lions for he had kittens lions in a shed and one name Absolum once a pets lions cubs that laterz on he name his first born son i think in visions only just debated for bible got twisted snairs in it at places or questions things.

Well, interesing. Agripa was a decadent disgrace while Absalom was a disrespectful traitor, so it fits that they were burried in the same spot.
