i watched an hour video deepdive into this subject and that became my conclusion with each passing minute lol idk what capote & dan for that matter were expecting tho sure, the majority pretty much has always had a fascination with this topic but like ... ur spilling boiling hot tea that you learned either tru confidances/after you changed yourself to fit in ... and you become icarus in the process and bet your closest 'friends' will forgive you bc what ... you did it for the plot?? lmao
I haven’t seen the swans. The only thing that I found compelling about it was the name the swans Tom Hollander supposedly is phenomenal. This guy has an amazing talent the other women, I thought Demi Moore witness cast the same record. It was no vulnerability there there was nothing in what she look like that even resembled in Woodward, we read as well played by Calista Flockhart who is a fine actress and I guess her physique machine that well Naomi Watts was fine but the story in itself was rather boring and what did they expect really they got mad at him for exposing their secrets, but for years he had been gossiping maliciously and viciously about a lot of people. They turn their back on and Woodward, but they went to her funeral, what is the expect from such a man what did they expect? Did they think hiding in the mouth of the wolf would make them safe from his mean-spirited callousness? No I I found it rather boring. It was very OneNote. Yes they get mad at Capote they ostracize Capote Koepka probably goes I mean it was just really stupid
I love that both the late Philip Seymour Hoffman and Toby Jones who both played Truman Capote in Capote and Infamous is featured in this video and I can't wait to see Tom Hollander playing Truman in the series he is a very good and talented actor and he will do a very good job.
C.Z Guest remained friends with Truman Capote until his death since he didn’t mention her in the esquire article and Lee Radzwill also remained his friend after the chapters were released but ended the friendship years later.
I just watched the first two episodes. The age of the cast can be somewhat misleading, but all the actors played their roles exceptionally well. After watching this RU-vid video, I googled Turman and his swams' birthday and found out that Truman was younger than most of the swans. Truman was born in 1924, Babe and Ann were born in 1915, Slim was born in 1917, and CZ was born in 1920. Was his relationship with his swans like a younger brother-older sister relationship? Lee, born in 1933, is younger than Turman and the other swans. All these people were depicted in the show as if they were around the same time and often hung out with each other. However, I belive that, in real life, Babe, CZ, and Slim were in the same group. Lee was in a different group, and Ann was never close to the other swans. CZ was also a bit different from the other swans. She was the only one born into an old-money family and then married into a much older old-money family. She did not seem to have a feud with Truman, and she seemed to have a pretty happy, fulfilling life and a successful marriage with her only husband, Winston Guest. She might be the coolest and luckiest among them.
I was astounded how he thought he could betray people's intimate thoughts and be shocked that they didn't want to be friends with him anymore. Who needed an enemy with him around.
While not a fan of either Capote, the women and their elitist society as a whole, I do think he deserved his punishment. It was a betrayal of confidences and secrets which he wanted to use for his own fame and fortune. Personally, I do not understand anyone's tolerance or fascination with such superficial and self-serving individuals. I find them all extremely boring.
I googled these people & found my jaw on the floor at the connections & shady shit these "classy" women & their families got into. Their lives sounded so miserable.
"He wasn't interested in them romantically," duh!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I told a gay friend of mine this statement. We laughed and laughed. Only because everyone knew Capote was gay.
😮 Who would have known years later people were going to. just tell all of their business for free. And was not going to be embarrassed about it either. 😔🙆🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️☺️
The problem with Capote was that others told him what to write and he took it literally! As a result, nobody knew what to think- it was too much for them!
Calista haven't acted for ages. Right? You can't be A list, if you haven't acted at your prime. Don't get me wrong. I love her since Ally Mcbeal. But....
@@LAZISHfor someone who hasn't acted for ages everyone still knows who she is. This IS an A-list cast cos these actresses are iconic & still household names
Since i don't watch the series, i don't have a personal opinion about it, but it was a nice video nonetheless. Have a happy wednesday afternoon, Rebecca. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
What should be remembered is he was a superb writer with a true feeling for the felicities of the English language, simile, and more; it's all in In Cold Blood. He last year's in NYC were a classic example of hubris, of a great literary artist hoist by his own petard. Once you become a kind of court jester figure to the upper classes you are finished: talk about a Faustian pact. I think Capote started to resent them all - and who can blame him. At some point he forgot his true caller: he was a real writer. But what an utter waste that he blew his talent writing about such a ghastly cohort as The Swans and their entourage.
Are you saying Ann Woodward killed herself but you showed Ann slater and in her old age in one of the clips unless she didn’t change her last name and that was someone else
Damn it!!! I really want to see this but I have no access to FX or Hulu. I don't want to have to pay for Hulu or for some sort of package deal just to watch this. *sigh* Oh well. It'll be released out on DVD in due time. I'll just have to be patient.
Anne Woodward had supposedly accidentally killed her husband when she thought he was a home intruder. Capote accuses her of killing him on purpose. Some of them he spilled the truth on their various affairs, their husbands financial crimes, and their various negative attributes.
@@bovnycccoperalover3579 I mean….they were high profile people with a reputation to uphold, I guess they were worried that their reputations would be ruined and be shunned by society.
His fault for depending on high society to subsist. He could have widened his circles, who knows, become a citizen of the world. I don't blame him one bit for his choice of topic -- thats what all writers do; he just was unapologetic about it -- but to let whatever these vapid socialites to define him? Nope. And looking decades older than 59? What a terrible end.
Okay but can someone please tell me why Naomi Watts's voice sounds exactly like Nicole Kidman's? I literally thought she was Nicole Kidman in a costume at first lol.
Never wrote anything. Very heavily edited by that woman who was his best friend until they had a huge falling out. Afterwards, no one paid any attention to his books because they were poorly written. He needed her to write and edit for him. So sad. I feel sorry for the lady that did all of the writing and never received credit.
If you mean Harper Lee, whom he took with him to Kansas, to get background for "In Cold Blood", she wrote " To Kill a Mockingbird", which won a Pulitzer Prize. That's he snubbed her - jealousy - snubbing one of his true friends whom he had known since childhood (he was Dill in the book) was beyond stupid!
I have watched the first three episodes, and I am not impressed. The time in the series is not chronological. The third episode was filmed in a black and white jerky manner which was difficult to watch. I think the movie was much more interesting.
I got pregnant in the 70s with some dude who worked for Truman C. He said to me that Truman was a good person who will take care of our baby, but he did not
So Capote for years have been gossiping and viciously so about a lot of people these women we’re all party to it probably laughing and saying oh Truman, you’re so terrible and then when it came their turn, they were surprised and stunned by his betrayal. How would you think a snake would be kind to you Turn their back on and Woodward call call Demi Moore is a fine actress. I found it rather impossible to believe she was this vulnerable person that and Wood were truly was Tom Hollander phenomenal as hodie. It’s like he resurrected him or some thing it was amazing what the series was, rather OneNote And it made you think these women were shallow narcisstic babe only cared about her position in society rather than her own kids what a tragedy that was the real tragedy of these women not caring about their kids, so I’m probably gonna be you know wrong about this, but I just I’ll try watching it again to see if there’s something I can find that isn’t so boring, but it was rather OneNote except for Hollanders performance. I didn’t find anything else worth watching, but if somebody didn’t like it good for you.
Imagine a normal conversation with that intonation and rhythm. But WHY? It sounds so awful. I mean the woman who tells the story, the narration, the voice-over. Just terribly awful.
