Some years ago, my car was stolen. I received two letters in the same mail delivery. The first letter said they were investigating the theft. The second letter said the investigation had been closed. So there you have it, an investigation opened and closed in a matter of hours, or possibly minutes. 🙄

They should lay the flowers where he died not where the home owner defended himself.

By putting those flowers on the victims fence they are marking him for payback. It is intimidation, and the plod, an apt description of these mealy mouthed social engineers in uniform, are aiding intimidation.

Another thing to remember: Vincent and his "partner" specialized in robbing old and vulnerable people. And even though he was young and fit, he still copped it at the hands of a 78 year old man who was protecting his wife.

I have no problem with the burglar's family grieving. Go to the garbage dump where his useless dead body was hopefully taken upon his demise, and set up camp there. 'Nuff said?

Strange that if someone died in a car crash can have flowers placed at the scene which can take a drivers eyes off the road are left for councils to remove, why weren’t those flowers 2 streets down in the gutter??? Here's the thing... He probably was a loving father and great friend to those who knew him. He was also a career criminal who broke into the houses of old age pensioners and demanded money at the point of a screwdriver which he used as a weapon. . Also... if his partner in crime had bundled him into the van and taken him to the nearest hospital... or even just called an ambulance... then maybe he would still be alive... albeit arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, or some such.

Not on the same ‘level’ I know, but that woman on her high horse saying the kids will grow up without a father now: if the police did a better job at catching criminals and preventing crime, he would be jailed and still not see his children anyway. And having a dad like that around kids is a bad role model - his kids are better off without him around. Obviously he didn’t deserve to loose his life but the other guy didn’t deserve to be robbed either. The police need to do more on preventing crime - especially by deterring crime by heavy convictions. I hope his kids live a different life and make their muma proud rather than following the footsteps of their father. The family and friends of the dead guy should be directing their anger at his friend who ran off like a rat and left him to die, not at the guy who was defending his property. The yanks got that bit right at least...

I used to work for a Borough Council in the Midlands and we had a special department which looked after the 'travellers', and then we had the waste management dept that looked after the mess they left. The two groups hated each other. I was speaking to a Policeman from the local station and he told me that he was the only officer willing to drive through the gypsy camp, and he did that on every shift. I am no great friend of the Police but i gave him credit for that.

How about putting up a counter-memorial, hang inexpensive toy handcuffs and screwdrivers on the fence?

Not related to this video, but I’ve just had a look at the Crimebodge website. 25 years ago, I was arrested and charged as I was caught, consensually, with another adult, in a compromising situation, of a sexual nature. We were the only two people involved. I’d never been in trouble with the police before. I was told that I was being taken to the police station to be cautioned and not charged. I was shitting myself but as I was only going to be ‘told off’, I declined legal advice (I know! I know!). I was interviewed and then told I was being charged and would appear before a magistrate in a few days time. I had just graduated form university. I was now getting a criminal record and I had to wave goodbye to a teaching career. To add to the humiliation, the police reported the incident to three local newspapers. My family found out and until the day my dad died, five years ago, he never spoke to me ever again as finding out his only son was gay was too much for him to accept. Needless to say I was cut out of the will. A few minutes fumble in a semi-public area cost me my chosen career and family life and all because, on the advice of the police, I thought being honest and cooperative with the police would be all that was needed to not get a criminal record. Just being arrested and interviewed was punishment enough to make me learn my lesson. I was so naive. Just in case anyone is getting all judgemental on me - please! We’ve all done shit we wish we had not. I got caught and paid a hefty price. The police are not your friend. They are in the business of convictions. Silence is key and if you’re ever arrested, SAY ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and I mean NOTHING! The police will say anything and lie as much as they see fit to get you to confess, irrespective of the far reaching consequences it could have on your entire life. If arrested, get yourself a good solicitor - not the one they have at the local nick. Don’t fret about spending a couple of hundred quid to get you out of what could be life changing incident. It’s a small price to pay. If I had not been tricked into not getting legal advice by the very people I thought were there to help me, my life would have turned out very differently. Thanks for reading.

I'd argue leaving "biodegradable plant matter", plastics and various fluffy toys etc on a property without permission is littering and should be prosecuted as such. unless a prior agreement has been made which I very much doubt.

If ever I was in the unfortunate position of having to break into people's homes to feed my family I would take whatever punishment was meted out to me if caught...

Why do they not change the law so anyone parking on someone elses private land can be issued with a two hour removal warning, if the items are not removed within those two hours the items then become the legal property of the land owner and they can dispose of them as they see fit? This would surely end the travelers continued rampage of our country.

Uk...im not sure wether vincent was a real romany or a traveler or a diddy ....my family on mothers side were real romany fairly high cast (leek) .my grandad was in ww1....gased at the somme.....blown up at ypes....dragged off the dead pile by his two brothers...but sent back home alive...well sort of..he never worked again (was a steelworker)..pieces of shrapnel worked there way out of his body/head until his death......if any of his sons had done what vincent tried to do ...lets just say he would have been more than mortified.....weve lost so much in this country...respect..disiplin...morality are but three things.....

I would take out the whole family if they harassed me as a lesson to others , I have been attacked by travellers when they came for my truck I wrestled with two of them for my troubles was stabbed with a screw driver and hit on head several times , the police officer I new said next time take them out with an iron bar we will call it self defence , now that’s an officer I can respect as he sees his job to protect us , as a note not all travellers are arseholes many are hardworking productive ppl with strong old values about family something many of ppl have lost today .
