+Kellie Malone Because they actually put an effort into hiding it. It was just recently released that Nixon pushed for the Vietnam war to extend so he could use it as an Election issue. Way to put country before party.. Or yourself... Here is Nixon's Chief Policy advisor John Ehrlichman "You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin. And then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities," Ehrlichman said. "We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."

Here it is, June 2021, and in the span of approximately seven months, we've witnessed a Trumpian-incited insurrection and Republicans who deny it happened, who blame '"antifa,", wouldn't impeach Trump, and now refuse to sponsor a bipartisan effort to investigate the insurrection. Add Qanon to the mix, plus the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene and other assorted loons, and the situation has grown even more precarious and dire.
