Thanks for watching - subscribe for more 3D printing challenges.... oh and check out our other challenges on social media @playconveyor
Since we started 3D printing it's always been on our bucket list to see if something we printed could hold up the weight of a human... so there was only one way to find out!
Filamentive supplied the materials for this test and we were blown away by the strength and quality they printed in… so we recommend you check them out - www.filamentive.com/ (YOU CAN USE THE CODE ‘playconveyor’ FOR 20% OFF ANY ORDER!)
Their PLA tough was the second strongest out of all the filaments we tested, out performing even ASA, which is just crazy from PLA!
Our printers really struggled with printing Nylon and Nylon Carbon Fibre, which we think would have been the strongest if we could get them to print properly, but this emphasises that consumer 3D printers just aren't really up to the task unless you have all the gear and a really controlled environment.
We have some really cool challenges coming up soon, where we really push the boundaries of 3D printing.. So stay tuned so you don't miss out!
DISCLAIMER - We did this test in a controlled environment - you should never use 3D printing for any situations where safety is important unless it has been professionally created and inspected / approved for that use.
