My takeaway from the trailer is that she can switch dimensions, so if you think about it, she could switch to a dimension, where SHE was Bloodhound, and not the Bloodhound we know from his dimension. The same with Loba, the Monkey King, and she's lived so many different lives in so many different dimensions, she may not even know who she actually is anymore.

This is one of the first times i've been genuinely curious about the lore. Respawn did a really good job this time, the teasers have been great, character design is great and the story behind her is really mysterious.

Also, some of her "origins" are fun little pop culture references, like the one where she's basically Sun Wukong, and the one where she's a martial artist with a passion for football (a reference to a movie called "Shaolin soccer"). I'm sure some of the others are also referencing something

My guess is that Alter is one of Dr. Renee's test subjects from when she worked at Ares, or perhaps just another result of Ares experimentation.

My theory: Alter could either know Horizon personally or could actually be an Alternate version of Horizon who has a vendetta for the Horizon in this dimension for causing the death of her son. A bit out there but that's my theory. I love how Alter's back story is left to our imagination

I have a feeling that Alter looks and feels like a corrupted version of Horizon. She has a similar physique and hair and some similar movements. Especially after playing her now. Also if you check her legend customization screen she has a Banner Frame called Altered World that changes from Horizons picture to Alter's with Dr. Mary Sommers written under it.

So I’ve heard Horizon talk about wanting to time travel and using yhe gadget she saw in the previous season as a way to do that with Lifeline’s help. But every dimension this happened, something bad happened and causes the destruction. This is probably why Alter has such a hard on for Horizon

You are correct those are Ares division soldiers, but the A on the shoulder pads does not really mean anything as it appears on the XO-16 shorty in Titanfall 2. If I had to guess the I would just need advocate Network as it's the same symbol.

I'm thinking Alter is an Alternate version of Horizon who tried preventing these events with NEWT tech and Void tech, which may have lead to her corruption

Or maybe alter is horizon. Younger version of her that embraced ashes, simularcrum technology and became the antithesis to the loving mother who would do anything to save her child. Which would be a demon who wants to destroy everything but itself.

I say cause it looks like alter is a singular being, compared to wraith who sees other versions of herself doing different things. I have a question, how the hell does alter knows the destruction of worlds are cause by horizon?

I have a few theories on what she could be (none are true and also not fitting with apex at all i just think these are cool) 1, shes everyone and everything kind off supported by the multiple backstories that could be true and shes just telling all of her favorites. 2, shes the grim reaper, she says "im the one whose there at the end of the day" maybe she transforms into the targets worst nightmare or 3, shes an alternate version of wraith that went completely insane after forgetting the past so now she just makes upp a bunch of backstories because she doesnt know her own one

It reminds of a quote from The Dark Knight “…some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.” I think that fits Alter. She just enjoys chaos and destruction, to the point she will go out of her way to ensure it happens. This would EASILY make her the most evil character on the entire roster.

honestly given that her name is "Alter" I think she might not be lying about her origins as much as it seems. She's very obviously unstable in a way and with how the writers treat wraith, i'd imagine that she has some form of Dissociative Identity Disorder, fundamentally incapable of distinguishing some memories between her own, and those of the different versions of herself. Where Wraith's exposure to void tech seems to have literalized schizophrenia, all that talk of masks, who people "really are", and the numerous versions of Wraith we see, Alter might be a literal physical Alter/Alters, the appropriate term for the alternate personalities that manifest under DID.
