The Fifty Shades books really aren't how it works in real life. A lot of us who are into the lifestyle don't like it being main-streamed. It's creating false pretenses, which is going to cause mental and physical harm. Also, women who are into literotica like it because it's a rich man; if he was poor in a trailer park, same story, the books wouldn't get many readers.

Oh..this totally hits home for me. I as a very hard working goal oriented man have experenced this - being dominant and rather alpha in my everyday life, yet mostly submissive in the bedroom. This was not only confusing to me for many years but brought out a great deal of shame, because I thought something was mentally wrong with me. I tried running away from it like a secretly gay person. Some months ago I actually tried the oppostite - to "Kill" by manly alpha side because I started thinking I was only meant to be submissive the whole time. That experment only lasted 4 days before I realized that that wasn't me because I'm not and can't be submissive 100 percent of the time. I even have a female led relationship behind me that proved it. Those were 3 of my worst years ever and I'm glad I'm over it. More and more I've come to terms with both my sides and realized that there must be room for both my "personalities". I can't be in a real love relationship with a "mistress" nor a "sweet innocent" girl. The answer for me is somewhere in between and I'm now more certain than ever.

I'm glad you found your truth Mark. Submission requires courage & there are a lot of people with unrealistic ideas about how subs should be in an FLR, which makes things more difficult for submissive men. I hope you know there are lots of men who feel like you do and many Dommes who love a man who's alpha to everyone but them.

A lot of women (not all) have an often unspoken desire to be the "Damsel in Distress". A hint for guys: Gents remember: Your lady wants to feel special, so treat her like a fine wine...take your time and savor her; don't "chug" her like a beer. Also, pay attention to her full body, not just what lies between her legs. Tease her. Kiss her...often. Use your hands to explore her. Drive her crazy in bed and she'll almost certainly invite you back for another time.

Please don't use this video for advice on BDSM practice. Search for "BDSM 101" or similar terms. Any form of choking is Edgeplay (look it up) - something that can't be done without risk. Also negotiation was pretty much ignored & consent barely mentioned. All BDSM should be preceded by peer to peer negotiation (even if you know your partner(s) really well). Look up "SSC" & "RACK" to learn about safer play practises.
