You mean pay lakes? Those aren't stocked, man. They harvest those trophy fish out of wild waters and put them in mud holes to be caught over and over until they die. Sorry, that's not fishing.

@@OutsidewithTom Thanks! I went out today on a big Canadian lake and was finding either thick weeds or sand. 4 hour day session and no bites. I typically fish smaller lakes/ponds with good luck. Would be great if you made a video showing how you find your spots on new bodies of water(using google satellites maps etc). Thanks!

I have to say I copied your baiting methods for a substantial amount of time, with great success. I carried cans of various canned fruit, several spices, bread crumb, oats and corn kernaled and creamed. So, I say thank you for all the carp Ive caught using your packbait style. Unfortunately, I have to disagree on your theories on there not being one packbait better than another. There is a packbait that will outperform what you currently use hands down, sorry. Your correct on having to understand the habbits of carp but some packbaits will definitely outperform others drastically. Finally the comment of not being able to find litature about carp fishing in the USA. My I recommend American Carp Society, they have extensive information and their goal is to spread information on carp angling in the USA. Thanks again for all you do, I follow your channel and enjoy it immensely. If we ever cross paths I will give you the recipe for that amazing pack bait...lol!

If where you can fish from is very limited on the water, try using a inflatable boat or a kayak to dump a few 5 gallon buckets of cooked feed corn or cattle cubes a day or two before fishing, this will draw them in. You would be shocked how quick a school of big carp can clear out 50lb of corn. Also if trying to pick out the big fish in a pack of small ones try big hookbait and a long hair. Two tigernuts on a hair has done wonders for me.

I see you have one of those cast King baitrunners, I just recently ordered one myself. One of your other videos sold me on the reel because of how loud the bait clicker is. I have a question though, as far as the baitrunner drag goes is it smooth on yours or does it kind of drag or catch every half revolution when you pull line out with the bait runner on? Mine kind of grabs a little it's not a smooth pull like my okumas. I'm going to be contacting cast king see if that's how they're made or if it's a common issue with them. I have the 4,000 model
@OutsidewithTom
@OutsidewithTom 2 года назад
Mine doesn't do what you describe. I would adjust both drags up and down and see if that makes the issue go away.

Honestly, I’ve heard several people say the Kastking reels have inconsistent quality and may not last as long as better brands like Daiwa or Shimano. I have also heard the Okuma Avenger baitrunner lasts longer than the kastking, for what its worth.
