I find it crazy that people call it a button masher when a fair amount of characters have to time their attacks or even completely stop attacking for a moment to even be able to do most of their damage, i.e. Lycoan and Soldier 11 and even Anby’s strong combo.
I mean let's be honest, the combat is nice but it isn't that deep as some people make it out to be (imho). A deep combat system would be something like DMCV or something like an actual fighting game. ZZZ is nice as an action game, but it should be compared to an actual fighting game (imho).
Tbh, I kinda agree. They compare Honkai Impact and thinks why ZZZ don’t be Honkai Impact? Because it doesn’t want to be Honkai Impact. It is actually quite fun to do some button combos than just spam dodge. I think ZZZ making dodge a little bit spammy but anyway, timing is key in ZZZ. Heck, I think ZZZ should have more combos. It has the vibe of Hack & Slash, and I think ZZZ can do what DMC can do. Unlock new movesets when upgrading character skills. So the characters are simple at the begining but more and more complex the further you upgrade. Get a new moves and combo stuff out.
ZZZ doesn't have all the combat depth in the world, but it's far from just another button masher too. I went in with 0 expectations, and I'm quite liking it! Lots more depth in teambuilding and combat than I expected in that sense. My favorite character to play is Corin, she reminds me a small bit of the feeling of playing switch axe in monster hunter which is my favorite weapon there overall, and I pulled Nekomata as my 5 star, so I've been putting them both on my teams to get big damage from physical anomaly activating, and I find them both to work off each other well. Nicole has been an amazing support for that team, with her defense shred and chain attacks working well with both of them. And even if I ended up disliking the combat, at least the visuals, characters, and music are really nice. I was skeptical about this game at first since it seemed really similar to hi3, their other dedicated action game, when I was watching beta footage, but I feel like ZZZ stands out and has a ton of upsides on its own. HSR is still my favorite Hoyo game and my main one, but I think I'll stick with ZZZ long-term too.
Yeah, initially, I was worried about it being similar to HI3 and it kind of is but I think the combat systems are much more fleshed out in a way that the visual and audio feedback is nice and it stands on its own! Your team sounds amazing though it's wild to see so many people are really digging Nicole I would love to use her
Judging a game by the early game experience is just stupid. It was just like yesterday when Elden Ring DLC got out and people expected and WANTED it to be hard and it'd be a failure if it wasn't. And when it got released, people couldn't stop complaining how hard it was and how unfun it was and it got review bombed. A few weeks later when they finally beat the game they call Elden Ring DLC the best of all time.
It was truly a sight to see people 180 on the DLC for Eldem Ring then 180 again when they found out about the way to make it easier. I definitely think Elden Ring is amazing for being able to deliver on that experience! I truly hope ZZZ is able to do something similar.
Finally a ZZZ video with a content creator I know who actually posts and plays Fighting Game videos. Thanks for the tech lab monster. Still won't save me with the stat checks in the game.
@adriansibucao5162 Yeah, I love this game! The stat checks are a bit brutal later on, but I skilled through some of them! Luckily, leveling isn't too taxing to do! I truly think Zenless knows how to respect a players skill over just having to buy the top 1 unit
I completely agree. I think people aren't aware gacha games are just as much a regular game now as other full priced games. Persona 5's tutorial was like 10 hours lol
I got my housekeepers without the wolf though, and Soukaku. It feels like I'm missing something especially when Rina gets the top score, and I feel like the shark is just a chain combo. Big bosses are bit dangerous as it gets harder to stack ice, as she can't really dodge when she dashes... And Rina on the field is waste of time as well as Soukaku. Then it really comes to special switches and trying to carry the invincibility as long as possible. With Rina I just throw her Ex and might just drop in the shark for the ice crater, and thats only because she has Street Superstar, if she has ice stacks I play them out to play out time, for energy, and if she has energy I try to continue. I think she is bit sticky to play. I wonder if there was fitting defence character for the team. Rina just seems to be the chain attack trigger that keeps on popping the SSW-engine. And while on tab, it's hard to spin around the camera, so this style fits me the best I guess... haven't played the game through yet. IK lvl is still 30.
Tbh thats not what people criticise when saying game has no combos. You literally cant implement combos in the game cause bosses dont get staggered by your hits. I dont need to juggle minions they die in one ground combo anyway
@manuelcavallo1393 you missed the whole middle section of my video dawg. You cam most definitely combo bigger enemies you just can't juggle them. A lot of the multihits stagger. Especially Corin and she is a free unit
So far I'm really enjoying this game, just before watching this quickly tested out a Team Build with Lucy, Piper and a C4 Soukaku with a Sharkboo and I might switch my main team with this. At the moment this is my current Team Soukaku (C4) with Lycaon (C1) and Nicole (C1) before I got a Bangboo I managed to do 2 missions that were 8 levels above the recommended in just over a min. What I love about the game is some of the little details like Nicole has a hidden move, if you move in a circle before holding down her Ex Special she sits down on her briefcase and causes it to do extra damage.
@PloysMaw honestly it sounds like you have some fun teams! Lycaon and Soukaku is so broken right now. As a pairing! I'm hearing Sharkboo is kind of nice! My main team rn is Anby C1, Rina C1 and Corin C2 all with their signature W Engine
@@ZettaSlowSoukaku is a blast to play not going to lie and yeah mixing her with Lycaon is kind of broken more so with a Sharkboo. I want Rina real bad and if down the line if they add characters that play like Ryobi or Ryona from Senran Kagura then ZZZ will drag me further in.
@chillycharizard5985 Yeah I would dig an endless mode but I know they would be able to truly reward us for how far we go. It would be a nice add to the training simulations though!
The thing that ruin zzz is what ruin all mihoyo game. that is it's wallet gacha. Barely got anything from event and playing rewards to have more pull. lossing 50-50 hit so heavy that sameone might quit from it. Mihoyo should give chance to get 1 copy from every banner season. And copy for whale. BTW combat easy afk. Large dodge windo and swap parry. Even engame boss so nice and good will attack with obvious attack patern.
