This is an excellent take, the british media have long put so much pressure on England players due to quality of the Premier League. They are talented young players (Bellingham, Saka, and Foden) but they are often overhyped due to them being from English. In reality the league's quality coming from the diversity of international players from all around the world and the TV Rights that bring the big money to sign overseas players. The Euros show that despite the talent if the team isn't balanced (Tripper playing at LB and no LW), too many players want to play the CAM role (Kane, Foden, Bellingham) and they lack the quality ball playing CDM in build up play that England's performance are left wanting, look stale and lack creativity. Looks like time for a new coach and building a new team identity.
I agree, it seems impossible for England to keep playing so poorly with so much talent in the squad, it has to be the pressure and weird media narratives swirling around the team that's really taking its toll.

Totally agree with you. The episode is from late October, but even then, Leverkusen were still unbeaten so it doesn't make any sense. To me those lists are full of prem/big club bias.
Good video man I agree should have more views. You need to take it a step further with racism though. White players in the game get favour over black players. England won't succeed because they won't do what France has done and use who is best despite the colour. That's why they overhyped the white players so much the kane foden declan rice maguire. Ivan Tony and Ellie Watkins would be better outlets for England
Hey man thanks for the comment! I totally agree that race is a huge factor here, but I'd need a whole other video to cover it adequately. It is pretty annoying to see the way some people talk about French players not actually being "French", the treatment of Saka, Sancho and Rashford after last Euros and countless other instances of unchecked racism in the game. It's arguably even worse in other countries like Italy and Spain where these things go largely unpunished as well. I find it pretty embarrassing to see such blatant discrimination and racism still in the game, both on the pitch and in the stands.
