Plus: If you don't want to defeat the ghosts of Sea fort just go to the new Golden Sands Outpost. On the second floor of the tavern has a stove with 3 slots
@@donspider1 Well the hope is that since you're fishing at a far off shipwreck you won't really encounter other pirates. There are far juicer targets on the seas for Reapers than fishers.
@@JonBardcore also considering the recent Hourglass too, most players seeking a fight will just be doing that. It'll just be the griefer players who will be coming up on you instead. Still, something to consider
Quick tip for fishing: I always pan my camera up as soon as I cast out my line. When the game pans it back down I know there is a fish near my line. Love the content Jon
Never considered the respawn time while fishing over wrecks. Given how much I hate being struck by lightning while storm fish hunting, I will be trying this immediately. Thank you kindly for the tip!
Dunno if anyone pointed it out yet but they updated the bait boxes: You now get 50 of each bait per box now. So if you really wanted you could collect up to 350 of each bait now. Not to mention you can buy bait from merchants alliance and hunters call now as well so you don't even need to leave the seapost to sell your haul. Happy fishing everybody!
How did i not know the shipwrecks restock. That's literally game changing. LHotSoT here i come. Great content again Jon . (Its also double Hunters rewards on the 23rd of February for anyone who wasn't aware)
Thank you for this amazing video, I love fishing in sea of thieves. Most of my friends see hunter's call as the laughing stock of factions, but I believe there is nothing else like it.
I'm a PlayStation player just getting into the game from the closed beta and instantly became fond of the fishing and sea monster hunting, doing it in-between orher stuff whenever i could. Originally i just wanted the exclusive drip from the Hunter's Call but now i think I'll be doing it a lot more often
I love your videos so much! 🥰 I think I will fish for wreckers on the upcoming Hunters Call Bonus Day. The nametags are such a game changer. I remember we used to have three people fishing and the fourth would swim around in the water checking what fish we had on our lines. 😂
All the brig sweats raising their dark adventurer sails... First Mate: "Cap'n are we gunna go after dat grade 5 reaper runner!?" Captain: "No my good mate... we are after a bigger prize!" First Mate: "Whaz dat Cap'n!" Captain: "We are going after... Fishing vessels!!!!" First Mate: "....um... wot?" Captain: "HOIST THE SIREN REAPER FLAG!!!" First Mate: "AYE AYE!!!"
@@JonBardcore well if you are carrying around 300k worth of exotic fish in resource crates it's only a matter of time before the sweats catch on and fishermen become the new FotD or FoF.
Ah yes, I remember back in The Day. The chill SoT Fishing Streams we did. Back when we had to fish for hours and hours just to get a few good fish because nameplates didn't exist. When is the Hunter's Call level cap going to 75 Rare!? We need new fish RARE!
I've always loved farming the Shipwreck Barrels for fish. It's how I got most of the unique variants. The only rares I actually had to catch myself where the Wildsplash, Plentifin, and Ancientscale. Everything else was found on wrecks. Never considered farming for Trophy Wreckers now that their are nameplates, though. Plus with Supply Crates, Bait Crates, and Rowboats to remain discreet, this method has become even more effective. I have a long weekend coming up and 7 more levels to go in the Hunters Guild. I think it's time to plunk down some hours and get it done.
Buying bait allows you to go variety fishing, too! My most recent voyage, taking advantage of the boosted hunters call rep for community week, I set sail with my fishing mate and we caught a wide array of wreckers, stormfish, BATTLEGILLS, and islehoppers.
for the treacherous plunder do pondie fishing. even though the fish take much less time to reel in the chances of treacherous plunder are the same as normal fishing
In addition to bait supplies from the shipwright, u can also buy a bait crate from either the merchants or hunters call representatives at a seapost! It is automatically filled with 50 of each bait type (150 bait in total) and can be bought for the same as a normal storage crate (5000 gold). They can also be sometimes found washed up on islands and whatnot, depending on how good ur luck is :)
I don't think I've even touched a fishing rod or stepped foot on a seapost since I got my legendary hunter. It was definitely a nice & chill grind, but the only thing that can get me to fish again would be a hunters call update or another fishing related event of some kind.
Next week is Double Hunter's Call Rewards days, so double gold for fish turned in. But yeah, would love to see some new fish. They added that Lionfish costume in the cosmetic shops so I thought we were going to get it in game but so far nada. ; _ ;
@@JonBardcore Double rewards is kinda meh in my opinion. I treat gold & glory weekends, community days and other things like this like any other day: If I don't feel like playing I don't play. I have 60M gold laying around, I am maxed in everything non hourglass, I do not need to force myself to play on days like these so most of the time I don't end up playing for them. What I was referring to concerning a fishing related event of some kind is something, anything similar to the festival of fishing some time early in 2021. That event even added a temporary little fishing voyage. For something like that I'd come back, but just increased rewards- not so much-
Now if you're in a lvl 15 or above guild, you can sail as guild Emissary. Not only do you level your emissay flag by fishing and cookkng fish, but also at guild flag lvl 5 you can sell fish at soverens at lower base price than at a sea post, however with flag 5 grade bonus you earn more than at a sea post.
I remember having many a session during my Hunter's Call grind fishing, a lot of time doing so for Pondies at Mermaid's Hideaway and just other fish elsewhere. I'm already at Hunter 50 before they added Fish Nameplates. Sadly, still not a Legendary Hunter like you are, as I still need a lot of the Rare and some Nighttime fish variants, as well as treacherous plunder. Not to mention the ever-elusive Blackcloud Wrecker, only caught at Shipwrecks while in a storm and you need 50 of them! At least your shipwreck strategy can also spawn such fish alongside stormfish
It's a grind for sure. Fishing parties are a HUGE help for this as well. Get three other fellow minded fisherfolk with you and all four of you cast away at specifically needed fish. It's the best way to cut down that time.
What's even more wild is that with the new addition of bait crates you can get 50 of each bait in an instant and just keep buying them with (I believe) no cooldown
Another little tip for cooking fish is New Golden Sands Outpost (will be called Port Merrick in future) Go into the tavern and up the first flight of stairs, you can find a cooking area with 3 pans (Not as good as a sea fort's 4 pans but it doesn't require killing phantoms)
I'll be fishing like crazy on Thursday then.... Great content as always sir.... Love you work & the videos are amazing. Please keep it up & I can't waecor the next video. Thank you 🙏
Hello fellow Legendary Hunter! Awesome strategy here! I also didn't know shadow stormfish could spawn on ship wrecks! I prefer to not be seen while fishing so I usually don't fish at wrecks but I may have to give this a try!
the nameplates are nice and all but fishing is still by far the most tedious grind in this game. I was thinking something cool they could change would be rods reel in faster the higher you get with the hunters call rep so that you actually get rewarded instead of having to spend literally 30 minutes to catch 10 fish xD
I recently tweeted that Rare should scale the fishing timer based on the crew size, like with the world event difficulty scaling so I absolutely feel you here.
My friends tease me for doing Hunters 50 to get Pirate Legend.... I learned how to use the storm as a weapon. I saw the restocking shipwrecks I have gained wisdom, grey hairs, and utmost respect for the sea. In only took me 4 years of on-and-off playing...and i didn't even get a crummy t-shirt...
Getting legendary before nameplates was such a bitch man lol, i love fishing even more now, same name for GT if you ever wanna stack with another dedicated legendary hunter
It is! Just make sure you're close enough to a sea fort for that four pan stove. Seriously, no fisherman in Sea of Thieves can live without that these days.
So those were called Captain's Voyages and were in the game from Season 7 until the launch of Season 11 before all quests were moved to your ship's Quest Table!
I typically solo sloop & fish but it becomes rather tedious solo. I really need to find a sloop-mate that has the same SoT interests as myself. I just want to grind out Hunters Call & finish the tall tales.
I sold a trophy snow wrecker for 31,647 gold not during a gold rush event. I was so caught off guard, do they keep changing the prices? No guide anywhere has it coming remotely close to that much
I just figured out i love fishing earlier, me and 2 friends knocked out a bunch of wrecker fishing for about 4 hours but a server merge wiped about 103 fish from our storage crate
If you couldnt find a wreck could you vote up a lost voyage and sail to the wreck? Would the same rules apply about refreshing wreck barrels? Is there an easier way to find shipwrecks?
It used to be you couldn't do that but as of a couple of patches ago you could use both a lost shipment Voyage or a legend of the veil shop graveyard to do it too!
@@JonBardcore Yes thank you.Looked it up...Double Rewards Week February 20th - February 27th. Hunters Call is Thursday the 23rd. Plus Gold and Glory weekend! I am jazzed!
My friend, let me introduce you to www.merfolkslullaby.com/map | Just follow the route of the storm and try to find a shipwreck there. If you don't see one right away, jump servers. Check again. Either that, or search the shipwrecks you do find and hope for blackclouds.
Hmm a normal shadow storm fish I found was 9k but I need reputation and I wanna be a legendary hunter to flex on people but I feel that their need to be cosmetics for hunters call
@@JonBardcore so probably if im solo do u think stacking a couple Treasuries for gems and chests and if I can get the coral bottle I can turn the breath of the sea into hunters call too. I think that would be the best for rep since I’m solo
@@Craigness If you're solo, I'd try to get gems via ashen captain's voyages. Get a good island that you're comfortable digging (like Ruby's Fall) and keep cycling through voyages till you get x marks the spot maps on Rubys.
Would it be better to use sea forts for fish instead of shipwrecks, I haven't tested if they restock but I know that they can spawn fish in the gray/white barrels?
I guess you could but fortresses are usually much more closer to the rest of the environment which means a higher likelihood of other players coming to bother you. I find most ignore shipwrecks these days!
