I always believe he's trying to end the curse power of relatives killing each other.

Yeah, that's true, I guess I just thought that the survivors would just grow to hate Itachi just as Sasuke did, and they would just focus on taking revenge on Itachi instead of the leaf. But I suppose they couldn't take that chance.

My take is that Sasuke was the youngest clan member and the only one of his generation.

@@azwerbukhari579 Absolutely. it was a painful and sadly necessary choice. But Itachi never backed down from his faults. He knows well the gravity of his actions and has never attempted to justify himself

Itachi did enter the Anbu as a spy. He was at least at some point in the coup plans.

Alot of the uchia wanted to do the coup. And the clan didn't know Itachi was this strong or had a mangekio sharingan... plus he wasn't as strong as he was rn back when he was 14

Nah, we KNOW it's NOT justifiable, but he also stands by his decisions instead of playing victim card, so the hatred people spew on him on the name of a "gotcha moment" sounds trite and unnecessary. It's like you're screaming what's ALREADY acknowledged in the story.

LIKE do you not know before the great villages kids were being forced into wars and even Hashirama said "even if it's my best friend family or even my own child.. I'll kill anyone who betrays the village." Itachi carried Hashiramas will..plus protected his brother..it takes great men like itachi to sacrifice personal interests so others can live better lives that's the importance of the village..so yeah killing his clan was wrong but sacrificing the village and war rest across the world was worse.. your just putting your own narrative in all itachi fans..no wonder you have this opinion.

he is definetly evil,he would have been a nazi killing jews to "protect his family under the government's threat if he didn't do it" or a communist informant who made up false rumours to have his neighbours or enemies imprisoned or executed for his own personal gain,the excuse of potentially protecting sasuke does not excuse executing so much more innocent people,what about all the normal people from the uchiha outskirts that died,the elder couple that had the shop that sasuke was buying from,the other uchiha kids,the women,were all of these people involved too ? i don't think so,if anything the best thing about him we can say is he had good intentions,but i don't see good intentions in what he did,i won't talk more because i don't want to spoil,but he's the farthest thing from a hero

blindly following orders from your superiors without thinking them through is not brave or remarkable,it just shows you are a perfect tool,laws and order are made and given by people and people can be wrong or evil,law is not to be blindly followed

He was torn between his family and the mission and that no one noticed his cry that he didn't want any of this either. He prevented the Fourth great shinobi war. Better a whole clan than millions of innocents in a great war.

If you refuse, we will kill you and your brother, and maybe the whole family, then we will find someone else to do your task and what would Itachi be left with? It would come down to the same thing again! Do you understand, in Hidden Leaf there was already intolerance between the Senju and the Uchiha's. One side had to be silenced and that is the one that wanted a coup in the country (Uchiha) and that means a civil war. Itachi agreed to do the work of incompetent rulers to at least save his brother !
