Listen everything he saying about why kids sell drugs is wrong maybe a few but when my gram was sick and my pops ain want nothing to do with me and my mom was high somewhere off drugs and I had no way of making money at 14 I never thought what I did was right but I knew someone had to keep the lights on food in the house I had to make sure I had stuff to wash with brush my teeth clean clothes make sure my gram was okay I didn’t like doing it which is why when I was able to have a good enough job I quit I didn’t risk my life for a music video or because I want to follow people I did it because I was gone be homeless again if I didn’t y’all needa learn what really goes through these kids heads and the dude instead of throwing kids away be a strong black man and teach them something you sound like the black dude who just wants to impress the white man telling on every last kid you work with if you really want to serve your community and help kids go out there and start helping change there life teach them how to be a good man because every kid you spoke about didn’t have a man or woman to teach them how to be successful they were just getting beaten down by life and you

As a new juvenile probation officer in the 80's, I had training in family systems and family therapy. Through a grant, I was able to watch really good therapist work with families and then process what they were doing afterwards. I think that training and theory has been useful my whole career. What training, readings, theory, do you guys find as the most useful so far?

That’s what I like to hear trying to help the family instead of throwing people away you are doing your job the right way not institutionalizing people but helping their mental state and giving the community a strong minded person who was broken previously and don’t let me say that but a person who was in need of help

Should I get a Bachelor's in Psychology or a Bachelor's in Social Work to prepare for a JPO career? I might want to pursue a Master's in Counseling later on to become a school counselor. I want to make sure i pursue the right degree..

Question, I am going back to school and the goal is to become a juvenile probation officer but wondering which double major would be the best combination that also would provide the best job outcome with various opportunities. A psychology major with a minor in criminal justice or social work? I have spoken to some corrections officers and some stated that they wish they would have gone for a degree with a different combinations to provide more job opportunities and security so I'm just having a tough time deciding. Any input? :)

It's a system and the young ones are getting some money., but whats really happening is the adults are really using them for them not to go to jail.

Do juvenile probation officers get paid by the hour or salary? Also do I need any probation experience before applying to the job? Do you think I should apply right after I graduate?
@YourFavoritePO
@YourFavoritePO 4 года назад
It's generally hourly. They take ppl without experience. Definitely apply a month before you graduate.
@anasantana898

In NYC we get paid salary...the position requires a bachelor degree and some sort of social work experience. You have to pass extensive background checks and pass an academy to get sworn in.
