That said I do think Lamar deserves a fair portion of blame for a lot of mistakes he’s made. Overhated QB and undoubted top 2-4 guy in the league depending on who you ask, but like his contemporaries in Allen and Burrow, not without his own question marks
Yeah, thats kinda what the video was saying. All 3 of those guys have blemishes on their resume. They're also all obviously the best 3 qbs in the league behind mahomes
I’ve maintained that Lamar Jackson is such an enigmatic figure. He’s been so good from Day 1 that there’s no in between on how to analyze him without using the extremes of loving him blindly or properly critiquing him. I tell people all the time, Lamar is a grown ass MVP-winning man. When he comes up short and blows games - he has to wear that. But the gear-grinding thing for me is outdated takes and opinions from people who don’t watch Ravens games and know about the WHYs behind what they see out of Lamar. There’s a segment of people who didn’t think he’d be THIS good, and instead of analyzing him normally, they seem to approach those conversations like they need to now move the goalpost to the most extreme expectation. I’m genuinely fascinated how his career ends and what they say afterward. Lamar has broken barriers and is revolutionizing the success that black QBs are capable of. I hope he gets that ring one day. Then everybody on both sides can shut up. 😂
Abandoning the run vs KC - we had also just dropped a chunk of change on Dalvin Cook and dressed him for this game only to never use him!? I think it's MOST accurate to say Baltimore struggles in the off-season with questionable strategies/play-calling and team failures (drops, missed tackles, etc.). It's a whole new year though and we have plenty of reason for optimism! You did a good job defending Lamar from unfair hate while validating legit critism of his specific post-season struggles. Thanks!
If you plan on beating kc by running in a year where their offence is good your most likely losing😂 the ravens were trying to get away from the run because once you stop it in the playoffs and the other team takes the lead it’s hard now solely rely on your passing game especially when it’s not that good
@@ybkid6513 People always say the Ravens abandon the run, the pass, or some other aspect of the game, but the reality is they fail to execute when it matters most. Once a team counters their game plan, they struggle. It’s not just about abandoning the run; even with one of the best rushing teams, the Ravens lost because they couldn’t execute on the passing front when their run game got shut down. In the playoffs, teams will focus on taking away your strongest asset, and what you do after that defines your success. Fans often blame the loss on not running enough, but the truth is, even with chances to win, mistakes like fumbles and interceptions will cost you the game. Ultimately, it comes down to execution, not just sticking to one plan.
Nah, dude, I'm a bengals fan, so I shouldn't be agreeing with you like this. But you're spitting facts. Joey B has a crazy playoff record, but he's had Chase and Higgins along with decent TEs and Mixon. Lamar has mostly been doing shit himself. I will admit I've trashed Lamar about it. But I only say he tries to do too much come playoff time. But he honestly has too, the man hard carries just like he did for the Cardinals way back. Louisville fan btw so Lamar always has some respect.
Lamar has had a severe lack of weapons compared to the other top QB's in the League. And I hate when people say "look how many RD1 WR's the Ravens drafted". Drafting WR's isn't a surefire way to get a top receiver. Do you know how many busts or guys who don't live up to their hype year after year? Not even just receiver. Look at Baker and Lawrence. It's hit or miss. And some guys take years to develop. Lamar needs weapons right now. He already has 2 MVP's. What do you think he could do with weapons like the 49ers, Texans, Bengals, or Dolphins. The best weapon Ravens have ever got him is twice ACL torn OBJ. Why do you think Bengals are holding onto Higgins for dear life? What do you think Burrow looks like without Higgins and Boyd? It changes the entire offense and scheme. And makes Joe's job a lot harder. Lamar has had it hard his entire career. Throwing to guys like Willie Snead, Michael Crabtree, James Proche, Demarcus Robinson, Hollywood Brown, etc. At one point these were his best targets. Smh. His best receiver is Zay Flowers. Who's good but he's no Tyreek, Chase, Diggs or Jefferson.
@@HighResTime You're pretty brain dead bub if you actually think that. I almost didn't respond this was so dumb. Tell me what have the Ravens done for Lamar? "They drafted 3 Receivers in the first round" 😂 That's not a guarantee you're going to get a game changing receiver. Drafts are hit or miss. Ravens are just cheap. One of those receivers has been injured almost every season. There's a reason he throws less. Because Ravens don't have dangerous threats on the outside to throw to. Last year he had Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews. Mark Andrews got injured. And Likely stepped up. Who's your team kid? Dude 🙄 Super Bowl 47? Lol. On the defense they had Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Terrell Suggs. On offense they had Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, and Ray Rice. I wish Lamar had receivers as good as them. There's a reason why top Receivers are making over $30 mill/year now smart one.
@@HighResTime 1 Flacco had a good OLine and Weapons like Anquan Boldin, Jacoby Jones, Torrey Smith, Dennis Pitta and Ray Rice. 2 The Defense was phenomenal in that game, they only started to slip after the power outage killed their momentum. Without that it would’ve been a blowout. Flacco is the most accomplished QB the Ravens have had because of HOF players on defense and good weapons, what did he do after that? We made the playoffs once more and then never again until Lamar came. Btw Boldin was not a receiver developed by the Ravens, for some reason they have never been good at developing top 5 wrs, so with that being said if the Ravens had gotten Lamar his Anquan Boldin like a Justin Jefferson or Brandon Aiyuk, we’d be having a very different discussion
There's 1 QB in the league who has consistently shined in the playoffs and 1 who used to but retired. Other than that you have small sample sizes and players who have some wildcard round games to prop up their stats. We all talk about how great Flacco was as a playoff QB but he was dreadful in the playoffs to start his career. The team just won more because they were mostly wildcard round games where the defense or running game stepped up.
💯 people always say all these qb’s are chokers but other than Brady and Mahomes which dudes are going to the super bowl every year? And Brady and Mahomes were both or currently in a dynasty.
Dumb decision making by the RAVENS HC in the playoffs and NOT Mahommes was the number ONE reason why the RAVENS lost the AFC championship last year. How can a coach have the number one running team in the league and not CAPITALIZE on the their major strength? Had the RAVENS not have Lamar the RAVENS HC would have been fired from his job a long time ago.
I lost all faith in harbaugh when he refused to fire the strength and conditioning coach. The covid outbreak, multiple ex ravens coming out complaining about the coach, the NFL report card giving the coach an F, and the outpouring of fans begging the coach to be fired. I don’t understand what took him so long to fire the coach.
@@Tigercam24 they abandoned the run because they were down 2 possessions basically the whole game😂 the chiefs have literally never been beaten in the playoffs by being ran over by, they usually end up stopping it at some point. This is crazy coping won’t lie it’s a bad look. Just accept he hasn’t been the best and hopefully he gets better in the playoffs.
Had to be. That gameplan was garbage. Might be in the script for LJ to lose to the chiefs first then he can become a champion. They had to get Mahomes established first 😂
Thank you for doing the lord’s work because all you did here was preach… especially about the triple coverage interception and the drop passes… this is what everyone does when talking about Lamar, they over look what got us here bad and good and they only want to dump on Lamar, one of the kindest black human beings on earth, unlike Patrick Mahomes and his rapist brother who got an establishment shut down in his own state? Can you imagine the brother of your favorite quarterback getting a bar shut down in your own state without helping them? If that was Lamar oh! Boy! His image would have been ruined … either way I’m glad you made this video this truth will not go unheard especially when talking to Lamar haters… much love bro thanks again 😊
Meanwhile, the talking heads are already finding excuses for Mahomes just like they did last year. Its always been like this. They shat on Newton, Big Ben, Rivers and whoever was not Brady, Manning or Brees.
Excuses? The hell are you talking about 4 SB appearances and 3 wins with 3 SBMVP’s. Your boy plays like dog shit every playoffs. No conspiracies necessary.
Tennessee just squarely outplayed us dat game, However can't a MF convince me otherwise dat goodell wasn't dead set on cashing in on a swift SB 😤 Officiating was against us dat entire game💯
It was more so Tennessee just punched Baltimore in the mouth coming off a 2 week bye and also resting the starters the last regular season game but the chiefs game definitely was fixed
@@225MarloMike4snhs as a Lamar fan/black man myself it hurts to see what the nfl/ravens is doing to him and I’m aware enough to know exactly what’s happening
I’m a GIANTS fan since 1979 but I always have chosen a Favorite Player to watch regardless of who they played. I was blessed to have LT throughout my youth, providing a decade excellence. And now I’m enjoying watching LAMAR redefine the QB position. I enjoyed your analysis and I hope that Flowers and Likely have breakout seasons because, the addition Henry can turn the Ravens offense into something special. I’m a new subscriber and I wish your channel success!
Great video. One addition, when mentioning that fumble in the chiefs games, you failed to mention that Lamar had a 99 yard drive for like 9 mins. It should’ve ended in a td pass but instead ended in a turnover. That was to bring them to within 3. Lamar didn’t choke. He answered but can’t do it all by himself. That was a game defining mistake by flowers.
Gotta say this the best breakdown I’ve seen of Lamar’s postseason. If only mainstream media actually cared about objectively breaking down Lamar’s postseason performances instead of their Lamar bashing campaign they are usually on.
Great video. Might be unbelievable but I’m a steeler fan who loves Lamar . When I was in high school I fell in love with Lamar play at Louisville wish the Steelers would’ve drafted him. But I’ll always root for Lamar and be a supporter he’s incredible.
13:50 "Which probably put the Ravens into a panic." No, which absolutely put Harbotch into a panic... Which in turn puts the team into panic-mode ! There is a difference. (Andy Reid know's) And all the best coaches know the difference between playing to be dominant, and playing to try not to lose !
Another thing bout that charges playoff game that people won’t mention is the coaching didn’t let Lamar pass until pretty much the 4th quarter when they had no choice and Lamar almost brought them back . I think had ravens made adjustment at the starting of the 3rd quarter instead of in the 4ru quarter we’re talking bout a diffferent outcome.
Its crazy because John Harbs has 3 playoff wins after the sb win and 2 are from Lamar. Let that sink in.... harbs is 1-3 in afc champions. He adds nothing to xs and os and has had putrid coordinators since the jump. Im pissed we didnt give rex ryan or mike Mcdonald a shot
You say that it wasn’t an unfair refs issue vs. KC, and while I agree that it was primarily the poor gameplan, dumb penalties that we legitimately did commit, and turnovers, I disagree that it wasn’t a major reason for the loss. It absolutely was to a point. In addition to that missed DPI, there were also two missed defensive holding calls on Chiefs defenders that would’ve continued drives that ended in punts around midfield. Kelce shoved a Raven defender but it was only the retaliation that got flagged. Kelce was also taunting pretty much the entire game, especially in the first half, and never got penalized. That head ref has a long history of favoring the road team by a significant amount, and in my opinion if you’ve got any sort of statistical anomaly like that on your resume, not only should you not be reffing a playoff game, you should be placed under investigation. Anyway, great analysis and take on the situation.
There haven been several WR'S that the Ravens could've had Garrett Wilson Chris Olave Amon St. Brown for starters we'll see if Hamilton's pick was the right one or Ojabo or was it a system thing and the other who basically redshirt because he came from Michigan?🤔
So basically it’s a mixture of bad coaching/gameplan, lack of talent on offense, and Lamar not playing up to his usual standard as he does in the regular season. I’m ok with LJ being criticized for not playing his best in the playoffs but you’d be foolish to not mention. How coaching and lack of legit talent at the skill positions has also had. A huge impact.
If you watch the chiefs first two drive their right tackle was 4 yards off the ball and clearly holding. After the second drive Baltimore really started isolating it and shut them down. Just sad in the AFC Championship he was able to get away with it
Proof it’s not DAK who sucks in the playoffs ‼️It’s the lack of run game, run d, coaching and execution. We had 14 penalties vs SF even Romo was annoyed and said “14 penalties ties team franchise post season record…how you supposed to win?” This coming from the guy most fans said he could win with what Dak has. We couldn’t run the ball (like always) and we couldn’t get IMPORTANT stops on D. Like when you NEED to get off the field. Coaching. HUGE ONE. We get out coached on both sides of the ball. Players never look ready. We’ve never had run game, defense and coaching all at the same time in the playoffs. Never. With 11 TDs 😴 Don’t mind the picks, we can’t run the ball. Also don’t mind the picks bc Lamar got 9 turnovers to go with those 9 TDs 😂 6 ints 3 Fum TWO RUSHING TDS IN FIVE GAMES🤦🏽♂️ that’s worse than trash. Dak literally has the same amount of rushing TDs HIMSELF. Then to have 11 TDs (just in losses bc it’s 18 in his 7 games) and everybody else just has 2? This proves he’s the only reason our games are even competitive. Of course he throws ints from time to time bc we CAN’T RUN THE BALL‼️ plus it’s only 7 TOs it could be 9 like Lamar the real “turnover waiting to happen” or it could be 6 ints in 2 games like Brady🤷🏽♂️ Like what can you say? If Dak can be MVP and lead the league in TDs he can be successful in the playoffs. It’s the rest of the team that needs to HELP. Last point. You can’t name ONE player besides Dak and Lamb from the Cowboys that stands out in the playoffs. Really think about that. Since 2016 give me ONE.
If there was a love button instead of like. Seriously, anyone truly watching every snap isn't excusing Lamar of mistakes. We're just beating the table saying every QB has mistakes even in the playoffs, but the Ravens have had just enough mishaps from players, coaches, and refs to unfortunately create a bad narrative. Most of all, nobody feels like explaining this entire breakdown to "X" casuals tweeting about bad highlights.
I also think that the playoff record doesn't tell the full story, surely being the top seed in the AFC and skipping into the divisional round 2x should be worth something?
Since Lamar Jackson ROOKIE year 2018: Baltimore has the 2nd most wins since 2018. (66-33) Lamar Jackson has the 3rd most wins in the Regular season since 2018!! (62-24) Baltimore #1 Defense since 2018. 1859 points/18.8 points per game (99 games) SO what EXCUSES does he have????! (source: STATMUSE)
@@staceyvandiverexcept the game didn’t end with the Zay fumble. Your number 1 defense absolutely clamped KCs offense and gave the Ravens the ball right back with still 10 minutes left in that game. @@deemity7557 and it was pass interference. The ref at the back end of the end zone grab his flag on his hip but decided not to throw it. Also there was another missed pass interference on the next drive, 3 more on throws to OBJ
Wtf _is_ this? The Ravens *admitted that* they left Lamar out there with Zero Play-calling Support. In the regular season? No. In the _preseason?_ No. They thought that without ever once having allowed Lamar to call a game to say "it's all RPOs, you make all the play-calling decisions" *in the **_playoffs._* Against the Chiefs. _That's_ when you should see if he can do this? They set him up to fail & he almost succeeded. & here you are _not_ blaming the coaches for this decision of putting all play-calling in the hands of someone who had Zero Experience doing so against Steve Spagnuolo?
So much cope. Every time Lamar Jackson fails is everyone else's fault, gotcha. Nor saying there isn't a context to everything, but we are SIX years into his career, he is an established playoffs underperformer Doesn't mean he can't turn it around, others have done it, but this is cope.
@@keymold4405 I don’t understand the comment, a lot of Allen’s losses have beeen heartbreaking losses. The 13 second game? Totally on the defense. Not Josh.
@@JSalonsky how about last season? Or the season before ? Or when the Texans came back. Or the blowout by kc? Josh losing with a better team doesn’t take away from the fact that he lost. Keep the same energy
It's really simple. In the playoffs there will be a time when the qb has to throw the ball to win the game. Every team can come up with excuses. The fact is when he's had to win it with his arm, he hasn't been able to do it. The greats find a way to win.
Crazy how Ravens used to never have top offenses until Lamar got there and now and now all fans do is complain and whine expecting perfection every week 😂. So spoiled smh. Most of them weren’t around for the dark days lol
Lamar gotta worry now. They brought in Derrick Henry who has knows how to throw for a TD and run too. So Lamar better straighten up in the Playoffs before he gets sat down like he did when Derrick Henry sat him down the first time when the Titans beat the Ravens to get to the AFC Championship Game

Usually there are several reasons as to why THE RAVENS. Empahsis on the Ravens cause yall act like QBs play this game alone 😂 From having no WRs that can beat press coverage to Greg Roman scheming up some of the most simple passing plays and not innovating his scheme. But this year it was 100% on Lamar choosing to go into the AFC Championship game and pass the shit out of the ball when Kansas City have a top 3 defense with 2 All Pro corners in McDuffie and Snead and a perenial DPOY candidate pass rusher in Chris Jones made no fucking sense to me. Especially when your WR core is just average they're obviously not bad but like cmon man and KC were ranked 18th in rushing yards allowed and 4th in passing yards allowed. They didn't even use screens, read option or quick game to counter the blitz. Both Lamar and the offensive coaching staff must've been on something that day cause that was probably the most abysmal offensive gameplan I've seen in a while. And maybe they were relying on Lamar scrambling more but they didn't. Nothing made sense that day
All the things you mentioned that the Raven's did or did not do fall under the preview of the head coach's responsibilities. Although we (again) didn't hear the head coach accepting any of the blame for (another) Har-botched gameplan !
Hey what about the bengals game where he didn’t even come because he said he was so injured he couldn’t even stand on the sideline and then demanded a new contract after asking for a trade? Brock Purdy 2 seasons in the postseason 2 championship games (4-2) Lamar 6 seasons in the postseason (2-4)

Ravens don’t play fantasy football don’t get them mixed up. Stats don’t win games Lamar wins games and that’s all that counts in Baltimore. Analytics is a good tool but the players make plays. Lamars damn good at making big play. No other young quarterback not named Mahomes has won a SUPERBOWL ! Not Allen , Borrows, Herbert, Tua, Lawrence, or Jackson. NOBODY ! The focus should be on beating the Chiefs . Haters so focused on Lamar because he’s that damn good and they were wrong about him. Choose 70% winning percentage top 3 in scoring. You can keep you 4000 passing Lamar will throw for 300 and run for 100 plus. Yes runs count too even for quarterbacks. Don’t try to dismiss his athletic ability and running proudness. 2 time MVP and the most dangerous man in the league with the ball in his hands😮😮😮
@AlejandroRease you never count other qbs rushing yards only passing yards and compare it to lamar rushing and passing same with touchdowns who had the most total touchdowns last season josh allen by a lot 29+18 =47 now I don't see anyone making a big deal about him compared to 24+8=32 15 mote touchdowns ravens have a much better roster last season then anyone including the 49ers ravens had one of the best rushing attacks with one of the worse passing attacks there is no way you can say lamar deserved top 5 in mvp let alone won mvp he didn't play spacial
@357say lmao he contributes less offense and there's a reason he is a different qb come postseason time just like every scrambling qb before him they also did well in regular season as well and the 2 mvps the NFL gave him as a business move to try to get more qbs like him in future but will end his career with zero championship
