I enjoy this podcast a lot because it reinforces most of the trauma I’ve experienced as a young adult. Insecurity and low self worth and lying to ourselves about self improvement. Everyone is lying to not only themselves but to their friends and audience.

My ex and I met in college and I can definitely say that if we didn’t break up for a few good future reasons (kids and boundaries) then we’d probably be engaged. Definitely would suggest going on a trip a good 3hrs or so and finding enjoyment in each others hobbies. Also being able to openly communicate about anything, taking risks, and learning about how to be a better partner for your significant other 😎
I had my husband waited when we were dating till marriage for sex. I think the normalization of sex in the dating phase is heavily influenced by movies and media which isn’t the safest for your heart and mind. I know this vid isn’t about this but that part about sex just seems so normal that no one see it as a problem sometimes.
I like doing an activity on the first date. It acts almost like a buffer to ease the awkwardness of a first date. Having something to do together without the date heavily weighing on how well you can converse. Sometimes it’s nice to do a mutual activity together like going to an arcade, roller skating/ice skating, laser tag, bowling, comedy club, etc. Depending how much you wanna spend go to an amusement park, concert, or sporting event where you can get a feel for someone without the pressure to bombard one another with interrogating questions. Talking isn’t the only way we get to know people or get a feel for their vibe.
I’m this episode Viet was feeling bad about himself and his life. I can tell he feels like he’s sitting next to someone who’s life he envys, not in a bad way, in a good way. He wants that. But he also knows that his demons don’t let him reach that. I recognize it because I also feel it. Sitting next to someone living the life you want, hearing that they ALSO struggled through the things you have struggled and still got that life you want, you feel like a piece of shit because you weren’t able to fight through it.
