Recently there was some progress made for the Raiders of MARSOC's Fox Company. Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) applauded the United States Marine Corps for publically exonerating the members of Marine Special Operations Company Foxtrot who were wrongfully accused of murdering innocent civilians in the Bati Kat district of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province in March of 2007. The exoneration is the result of Congressman Jones leadership in May 2007 to defend innocent Marines, followed in 2017 by thousands of concerned citizens who educated themselves on the facts of this case regarding corrupt leadership which was thoroughly described by Nick Coffman in SOFREP. Those citizens who signed petitions, continuously called their congressional representatives to join Congressman Walter Jones made the difference in this exoneration. To be falsely accused of capital offenses, receive an ambiguous verdict and to have the press slander destroy marriages, professional reputations and careers, health and to face unending employment discrimination, is why this exoneration was critical and the Marines of the MARSOC 7 appreciate everyone's effort in this victory. We urge everyone to continue to contact your representatives to join Congressman Walter Jones of North Carolina in his effort to have the Commandant of the Marine Corps publicly award the MARSOC 7 the Marine Raider uniform insignia which they earned.

As the son of a Marine officer, this makes me wonder if Vietnam never ended. For American leaders to go after U.S. Marines, those whose motto, unlike the enemy, includes "death before dishonor", makes me undescribably angry. This is the same sort of Foggybottom calculus that led State Department dicklomats in Vietnam to inform the French who informed the VC exactly where our operations were going to hit. The same mockingbirds who led America to believe that we didn't repel, AND WIN, the Tet offensive. The same people who disallowed our men to take the fight to the enemy in Laos, Cambodia, and elsewhere. The same kind of people who leave special operators hanging in Benghazi. I find myself hopeful that Secretary Pompeo and Mad Dog Mattis can clear out the "Seventh Floor" (hopefully with the assistance of the Marine Raiders) at Foggy and rid the world of truely honorless, godless psychopaths who play fast and hard with justice and true hero lives.

It is April 16, 2020. This is the last update I was able to find on the bill: Latest Action: House - 02/21/2017 Referred to the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities. Am I missing something or has this really been stuck in committee for three years? BTW, thank you for bringing awareness to this injustice. Lots of wrongdoing has been committed by our nation that needs to be made right.

I am 69 years old..a Navy brat. As you can tell from my age..right in the middle of Vietnam were my main years of military knowledge. I always backed our bots. ALWAYS..but until learning about RU-vid. I had no real idea what you guys went through and actually for our country. I am on here every single day learning. Learning. I always go to anyone I know is in service and their families and say thank you for your service..wives always say it was just my husband. I always say no..you served here in states while he served away. Everything home fell on you. If I am in restaurant I anonymously buy the table meals. But how else can I say thank you? I am on fixed income..can't even afford to give you $5 a month..such is life at 69. Do they still send buddy letters? I love all of you as sons of America..it is real . Don't be scared it is a friendly love. What can I do?

Thanks for bringing this story back to the forefront and shedding TRUTH to it! I sadly remember reading this story while I was still in the Corps at HQMC. My younger brother served in 3rd Recon, and was disgusted when he read this trash in the Marine Corps Times. Many of our Brothers' lives were negatively affected by this article. Retraction and formal apologies to the Marines? Nah! Pride can be a terrible thing. Keep moving onward Brother; Semper Fi!

My experiences in Marine Corps is that the lower ranks are the one who take care of their own. The higher ups wih egos are riding the coattails of these MARSOC Marines. The ones who are out there fighting and giving and maintaining the reputation of the Marine Corps. Semper Fi.

John Lothrop From Lcpl thru SNCO, I took care of my Marines. I took the "Take care of your own." Slogan to heart and didn't treat it like a cliché. I witnessed too many times through the ranks, senior ranked Marines ready to Blue Falcon their juniors, in order to get promoted or make a name, albeit a bad one, for themselves.

This same shit happened to GREAT Marines in 3/1. Congressman John Murtha publically indicted and convicted Marines of the cold-blooded & calculated murder of two dozen women and children. Several Marines were arrested, indicted, and spent time in the brig awaiting trial. In all, 8 were charged with everything from murder, to obstruction of justice, to dereliction of duty. ZERO were convicted of any serious charge. The evidence showed that they did exactly as they were trained. IED Ambush. A vehicle caught in the kill zone. Near Ambush with small arms. The Marines located, closed with, and destroyed. The problem was that the insurgents used the civilians as shields. They used their homes to conduct the ambush, and as soon as the Marines fought through the ambush, the insurgents popped smoke and bounced out. The Marines, cleared the houses that they took fire from by utilizing frags. One of the unfortunate things in war is, at times, innocent people are caught in the middle and they become collateral damage. Even though the prosecution offered immunity to most of the Marines to get them to cooperate against the prosecution of SSgt. Wuterich for multiple counts of unpremeditated murder, he was ultimately found guilty of one thing...deriliction of duty. They fought for years to get their pound of flesh and ruined the careers of many many good Marines. The only thing they got was a fucking conviction for dereliction of duty. What a crock of shit!!! I had the awesome experience of serving (for a brief time) under the command of Captin Luke McConnell (3/1 K CO). He was a great leader and a great Marine. They destroyed him. I am glad that you helped get to the bottom of the false accusations of your Raider brothers. Good Marines keep on fighting to do what is right, even after they no longer wear the uniform. I hope that much success comes to those warriors of the Fox Co. Raiders. S/F

Just goes to show you that the liberals will send the Military into harms way to do a job, and then they cut, and run when anything is said about our guy's (And it could be the enemy disseminating false info) and the crappy jobs that they are assigned to do with little or no resources or support. And many times no support from our supposed allies in theater. Then crucify our men for doing the job's correctly to the best of there ability! I say put the old men in Congress on the front lines and let them lead by example.

I still remember this incident even though I was pretty young when it happened. The command and entire US government did not have these Marines’ backs and what happened to them was a disgrace, but I’m very glad these warriors were exonerated. It’s too bad it took so long.

Nick, One of your best videos. I first found you because of the gym incident, but have loved your "take" on things - and I was in Iraq 05-06, 07-08 (not in your capacity, but was there) - and the way the press was just salivating over every opportunity to defame our military was maddening. Outstanding video!!!! This unfortunate event was one of many caused by the militaries leadership. At that time in Afghanistan you couldn't drop a bomb because commanders were in fear of collateral damage. Commanders were more afraid political pressure than they were of their own troops dying. Fox Co. was thrown to the wolves. Hopefully now these men get the apology, respect, and the Raider pun they deserve.

I Remember hearing when this came out in ‘07. Guys were shocked. In all the years since I had no idea of the findings. I am relieved to hear and pissed knowing the toll it took on these men by slack jawed cowards who were willing to through them under the bus without knowing the facts. The Commandant owes them this suggestion of pinning them publicly. When 99.2 % of the population don’t stand up and take the oath you treat the ones who did and do better than these good men got. Keep up the info. I will pass to all I know. I would suggest taking this to SecDef Mattis straight away. More people will see it. It will matter more to the public and the men themselves I would believe given Mattis’s reputation with Marines.

Our Americans are doing a job they were called on to do. Now for doing exactly that theyre being villified? Very sad and upsetting. My personal feelings, from the administration prior to the current, is our military force is to be shamed and/or shunned. We need to cherish these men and women that sacfrifice their own lives in every way and hold them up with the ranks of heros in comics. With everything, there is good and bad. Human nature is good and bad. The bad can easily sour the bunch in sensitive issues as combat. Politicians and beaurocrats have a lifetime to pass judgement on a situation that requires split second decisions. Stay true to oneslef and never do anything to question your own character.

Isn’t it funny how military recruiters never seem to want to mention anything about situations just like this one. “Oh just one more thing kid, if you don’t operate by the militaries ridiculous rules of engagement you could end up in Leavenworth prison the rest of your life.” Finally, I’m really glad these soldiers where finally exonerate and their honor was restored .

Brother, USASOC, and SOCOM became loaded with political officers during the mid 90's. After serving in 2d SRIG I jumped ship to the Army; I had the unfortunate opportunity to watch the political correctness and ass coverage develop. It all comes down to saving some officer's career at the expense of the actual warfighter.

I appreciate your efforts. Old recon Marines know from their experiences as far back as 1996-97 during THE WAR ON DRUGS that The upper echelon, top ranks, and politicians still in power from before the Trump administration will not acknowledge their mistakes or correct their wrong doings. They have set up/ framed military personnel in order to discredit them during and after a courtmartial, given them years in the brig, dishonorable discharges, back dated their awards such as good conduct, combat action medals, then after their discharge their SRBs were redacted and years of schools, missions, training, reveiws, promotion boards records were deleted. They rolled back all enlistment information to before the service member had been in special operations and then showed their discharge dates to have been before they went SF as well. Guys with 8, 10, 12, and 16 years in service were branded dishonorable and turned into life long felons with discharge codes thay ensure they can not upgrade their discharges all to cover up covert operations outside and inside of the US in the war on drugs. So again I say I applaud your efforts and wish you the best of luck in righting these terrible wrongs. I think due to recent events with a SEAL and Trump in office you have a chance but it will be a difficult challenge.

That's exactly right....not traumatized by the combat...but by being abandoned by the chain of command...I had the same experience with a friendly fire incident and I have never been the same....big cover up and the family was left wondering how their son died all to protect an officer that wanted to admit he shot the young man on accident and my life was threatened by the chain of command.....they said they would make sure anyone who talked about it would leave Iraq in a body bag

Curious: Did the Marine Times carry a front page article showing the 2008 exoneration? If not, why not? You bet I'm going to call my Congressman and tell him I expect full cooperation in supporting H. Res. 21 and that he submit to the Congressional Record the statement released by Commander, Marine Corps Forces, CENTCOM of May 23, 2008. When our troops are wrong, I expect due process under UCMJ. When they're right, they should get full consideration and support from CMC. Thanks for keeping this in the public arena.

If a travesty like this happened at a private company, the company would lose their shorts in the lawsuits. These men were sent far from home to fight an enemy that doesn't fight by any rules of engagement, and these men paid a price that no person should have to bear. The very LEAST the Marine Corps can do is publicly acknowledge that these men are Marine Raiders, and did that they did not dishonor themselves, their unit, their Corps, or their country.
