FYI, don't slam the frunk lid. Lower down slowly and then use both hands to push it down to latch it. The frunk lid is very light material and if you slam it down, it can bent.
This was the most genuine and honest Tesla review I've ever seen. You showed the good and bad and gave honest opinions without glossing over the obvious QC problems and system failures. Keep up the good work!
I bought a brand new refreshed 2022 Model S and the build quality was a joke. Big panel gaps..creaking interior panels.. It even made underbody flexing noises at 13,000 miles. Tesla Service would not do anything, calling every issue - within spec. Couldn't stand it and sold for a silly 50K loss. Now onto an X, not much better. If I get one again I would lease one.
You've experienced my worst fear about owning a Tesla - the screen blacks out or just doesn't respond to any touches! Thanks for covering pretty much most of the pros and cons of owning a Model X, which could also apply to other Tesla models as well.
Hold down the buttons on the yoke for 4 seconds and it reboots the display computer. The car continues to drive just fine. They separate the display and driving system. FWIW, I had my BMW and Ford also freeze certain system like nav. The joys of have everything computer controlled on modern cars.
@@PipenFalzy u get a temporary replacement from the dealer if it is with them for any kind of service ! first earn enough to pwn one and then complain ! nothing works ? even if the screen stops working basic vehicle functions dont stop there ! still ok to drive to nearest service center !
"This is really humane" -- a garage mechanic offers to help fix a problem with her car! Life must be unbelievably tough in California if a car mechanic offering his services is celebrated with such heartfelt joy and relief.
@Daniel Georgiou "Powertrain" is used by every car maker to describe the equipment that propels the car.... idk what you are so butthurt about given that he actually pointed out the flaws with Tesla....
I traded in my Model Y performance for a Model X plaid which came this February. So far I have absolutely No Regrets! Yes the car has glitches but overall I absolutely love this car!
I've been an X owner since 2019 and I can't see myself driving another car. I do a lot of road tripping and it's been great in that regard, especially with the excellent supercharger network. Aside from that the cargo space is also fantastic and has come in handy helping haul large items for me, my parents, and friends. The falcon doors are great for accessibility and make it easy for my Mom to get in the back as she has bad knees. Software updates have just made it better and better. This one's a keeper. Oh yeah, and forgot to mention: precisely zero maintenance issues since buying it.

FYI there is a car wash mode under service. Puts it in neutral, turns off wipers, etc. 2) If door doesn't open fully but is safe to open hold the door open button and it will manually override. You can then click on screen to "always open fully at that location".
I agree with your thoughts on purchasing vs. leasing. For me, I buy my vehicles for cash and then drive them until the wheels fall off. Leases tend to be an endless hamster wheel of payments. But to each their own.
The A/C issue was a fluke that doesn't happen as often as in gas-engine cars. My 2014 $60K Mercedes had A/C issue the 1st year I bought it brand new and they didn't even give me a loaner for the 2 weeks that took to fix. Also gas engine cars have multiple issues that doesn't exist in electric cars, examples are: transmission, fuel lines, spark plugs, radiator, muffler, catalytic converter, gaskets, leakage, etc. etc.
Yep... sorry guys but Made in America is a worry. I think the Tesla styling is Old Hat now...Probably there's better things coming from Europe in the near future. I'd probably go for the Audi Q4 or Megane for a smaller car. The French are now at the top of the Styling game.
The tech and engineering on other automakers is light years behind. Wouldn’t buy any other brand other than Tesla right now. Best and brightest engineers in the world!
I have a 2016 X that’s nearing 200,000 miles. It’s about to undergo a battery replacement because at maximum capacity the range is 190 miles. I’ve been fully charging to capacity since new, because YOLO. I remember when it would charge to 254 miles. Happy times!
That should be a normal 75% after 6-7 years (u might been charged to full 100%? which should be 80-90%) with heavy drive ~30kmi/yr -> consider $10-15k battery replacement? or trade-in for a new Tesla?
Hi! I stumbled across your RU-vid video (while avoiding late-night office work). I didn't expect much, but found it gave me very valuable info and perspectives. Very much worth watching, thanks!
Close the frunk by gently lowering it, place both hands on the front center a few inches apart and push down firmly in one move. Don’t slam the hood down.
I used to work for Toyota as a sales person, they were pushing us to sell the lease option, but every time lease option ends, the buyer pays every thing all over again, tax, extra mileage cost... purchasing is better than leasing!
Maybe for a Toyota but I leased 2 vehicles from Ford and the car was worth less at the end of the lease than the residual value. In my case they were both C-Max Plug-in hybrids and for a lease of $105/ month I shaved several minutes a day off my commute by driving in the HOV lanes.
I bought a 2017 Model X from Tesla In 2021 and I love it. It had a few problems at first, but Tesla warrantied the used car for 1 yr or 10,000 miles and it still has the rest of the 8yr warranty on the drivetrain/battery. I got my for $52,500, but similar ones now sell for $70,000 - $85,000. i also have reserved the Cybertruck.
Two things One: The frunk should not be slammed and instead, gently lowered and with both hands, push down on either side of the logo. Two: The wall connector charger you have in your house, the wire can be wrapped around it and the charge part itself has a spot it can fit in instead of just hanging there. Also a tip, not sure if you do, but you can schedule the car to charge at off peak times at home to save money on your electricity bill. Otherwise, great review! I recently got a Model 3 Performance and love it. Congrats on your Tesla, the new Model X and S are insanely cool. 😄
When you were at the Tesla dealership with your air conditioning problem, how much do you want to bet the rep came out personally to check on the issue because they were notified that you had a camera crew and was recording the experience? If they didn’t see your camera filming, you would have had to stick with the app and wait like everyone else.
Never put your hands through the "holes' on the steering yoke. Always hold the outside or the bottom of the yoke, when your hands slip forward, make sure all the fingers can go outside of the yoke, none of them will get caught by the yoke.
3:57, don't slam the frunk it is aluminum for lightness. You are supposed to drop it to the latch and then press with your hands to lock it in place. Does not take any force to do, but slamming it does not work at all and can bend the hood over time. Also that frunk is huge, we have a Model 3 and can easily shop for 4 days of groceries within the frunk. Model X should do a hole week of shopping no problem.
Depends where you shop. One thing I hate about Costco, you can't buy one little thing even if you are willing to spend more per item. Too many items are in big packages of multiple items.
@@ericy.2108 Ouch, so 50% of the population then? I do computer repairs and the number of times the problem is just the owner not reading the basic manual.
Excellent review!! With the air conditioner, I had a similar problem. We took delivery of our 2020 X and a month later began a cross country roadtrip to Oregon. When we were driving over the continental pass on I-80 the A/C suddenly went out, at first only for a short time, then more frequently after driving for a couple of hours in hot, dry climate. When we reached our destination I made an appointment with the service center in Portland. They kept the car and gave me a loaner of a ‘13 S, which drove well, but caused me to miss the advances they had made between’13 and ‘20. Also, while in Oregon, my screens went black which startled and greatly concerned me, but they rebooted themselves in two-three minutes. I later learned that it is good policy to reboot them yourself periodically, especially after watching one of the theater apps.
@@DerekDavis213 its not $70,000 its over $100,000 which is the best part - That money would be better spent at a good college than on a car that broke in two months
The Porsche Cayenne story got me thinking that the better choice isn't to buy new or lease - it's to buy a 4 year old car, at least in the Cayenne category. That's actually what I did when buying a plug-in hybrid several years ago, and it's still running great. I spent so little on it (and paid in cash) that my cost per mile must be quite low, and I can sell it any time without worrying about losing much vs. my purchase price.
I own a body shop, we cannot get parts for Tesla vehicles. We have customers coming to us and we can't help them. Keep this in mind when you crash your Tesla, it's gonna be in the shop for a WHILE. Even if you take it to Tesla directly, they have a serious back order. The dealerships are a mess.
spoke to a Tesla manager @ Marin dealership and said, “it is *possible* to exit a lease early, but there is no option to *guarantee* early termination”
You should not slam to close the frunk like an ICE car, just gently put it down, put your hands between the logo, and press. You could damage the aluminum if not closing it properly.
Keep in mind, you pay a premium for ModelX and ModelS. Model Y seems to be the best car for the money in the world today. Model 3 is also an excellent car. Though smaller, it is affordable starting at around 42k
I've heard about issues, but mostly on the MODEL X, I recently ordered a Model Y, 1 week out , fingers crossed i hope no issues, love the honest review.
I was surprised that your delivery was so bland. I took delivery of my model x performance in February of 2020 in Carlsbad which is north of San Diego. There was a big red bow on car and the salesperson gave a complete tour and an education. Maybe they thought you'd already owned a Tesla or they were short on delivery people. And I love the car when I picked it up and I still love it and I love electric the response the speed and the automatic features.
Another very well known RU-vidr that makes videos about Tesla said that his Model Y was *filthy* on the day of delivery. Tesla couldn't even be bothered to wash the car. omg such disrespect. I get a free car wash when I get an oil change at the dealership!
If I were looking at a electric car it would only be a Tesla. Why? I worked in manufacturing for 50 years, both on the floor in assembly, and 40 years as an Degreed Engineer in Automotive Industry. There is a huge learning curve in the beginning the design and manfacturing of a car, especially a new type like an electric car. Tesla has been through that learning curve for many years. Many of their initial design and manufactuing problems have been solved and they continue to learn. Now take GM, Ford, and Chrysler, Riven and etc. and the first owners are going to experience many quality, and functional problems in the first several years. I rather go with a proven car when they cost $ 50,000 - $ 120,000 to buy. Even if you have to wait, it is better waiting for a quality Tesla, instead of getting a car with problems from first time production.
I'd check what Consumer Reports say about reliability, because right now Tesla is at the bottom. Self steering is nice to have, but if I have to choose between that and sometimes not being able to use the car...
Well done with your video. Your humor was pretty funny to me👍🏽. The video was also the story of my life. I gave up model 7 and miss it dearly and not just because of the extremely high gas prices. I really liked my vehicle but the repairs were Inexcusable and costly. . I traded a BMW B7 Alpina.for my Tesla just to sell it back to CarMax I traded my 2016 X to Carmax after just 7 months of owning the X. I was $6500 in the hole with maintenance. The trade was an investment because carmax paid more than what I owed due to demand for the vehicle. Unfortunately, I barely broke even given the money spent trying to keep the car on the road. My AC broke as well but I only had a 7 day tesla service wait time unlike your car. I had 2 ball joints repaired, weird squeaking noises from the front wheel, given a estimate to replace the front axle, front suspension malfunction , wheel molding or trim issue around the tires blew off while driving. I get it replace and three weeks later, the car wash ripped the other trim from the opposite site side. I couldn’t catch a break, I had 1 cracked ‘20 rim, ($900 to replace) a broken rear seat belt buckle, signal arm controller went bad and the center glass roof just blew off on the highway. I get home, look outside my upstairs window, look down at my X and notice the center glass roof is gone. All in 7 months The quality was so frustrating with the vehicle and disappointing because I really liked my X but simply couldn’t rationalize the repairs not covered by Tesla. BTW. I bought a used X from non Tesla dealer; PLEASE do not ever ever buy a Tesla from anybody but Tesla. You’ll likely have a few issues here and there but you’ll have some coverage with warranty repairs.
Very honest and helpful review. Nice job! I'm a mechanical engineer and us engineers don't like to jump on new technologies until they're proven solid. We are trained to tune out the noise and the fad, and focus on the build quality and the technical specs of a car for ourselves. Even if these look good, the price tag MUST make sense. Based on my analysis, Teslas fail royally on all fronts! It is for these reasons that people like me gravitate to brands like Lexus, Acura, and BMW. They know how to build reliable production luxury cars. Tesla has a long way to go to get there.

You should try out a Newest (‘23 now or ‘24 if u need months to decide) Tesla, of ur own budget (S/X fancy or 3/Y realistic or upcoming 2/Q economic) then u might wish to invest a whole Tesla fleet 4 ur family❤ (I am a ME too, a Ford+Lincoln fan with F250 diesel 6.7L, MKZ hybrid, used to be a Lexus fan …, been studying Elon’s Teslas for years to get our first EV: ‘23 Y a month ago, rotate-sharing drives with wife and both college kids, and we just self committed to replace our networked family future vehicles by all Tesla - should starts with $25k next year model 2/Q when son gets his first full time job)
Thanks for your honest review and you convinced me. I'm buying a gas-powered car instead for half the price with no fancy electronics to close my doors that will probably fail in a few years.
Your celebration feeling and experience were just like us. Our first Tesla! Yay… and nothing. No intro… nothing. However, we love the MX and still in awe!
I loved your review. Everything was dead on. I have a 2013 Tesla and again the quality is not that great before I head a 2007 Lexus I 350 which was three times the car. Also, I agree with you with the personal touch with Tesla. My car after owning it for two months had to drive unit failure which took out something in the battery. Tesla wanted $28,530.13 to repair. Now, I’m 64 and not rich so I just spent $35,000 on a car and could not in anyway afford a $30,000 repair. Tesla was not helpful saying you just bought $100,000 car and should expect repairs to be expensive. Mind you the car was only nine months out of its 8 year warranty and the warranty was for 150,000 miles and my Tesla only had 89,000 miles on it. Then of course I wanted to find out if there are other options for repair, Tesla, is pretty much the only game in town. If I would’ve got my car fixed there I probably would’ve been bankrupt. However, I did find a company in Texas that fixes them instead of replacing everything at about a third the cost. After 10 weeks I’m driving my Tesla again but it might be my last one. I love the performance, and how smooth and clean and simple they are. On the other hand their way over designed technologically versus engineering required. They just need to build a car that’s worth spending the money meaning you don’t mind making the investment because you know the car will last. Anyway, very good review and even on my used Tesla many of your experiences matched any of mine. Thank you for sharing! I want to add that if people Own their Teslas, love them I hate them, get rid of them before the warranty runs out because Tesla does not want to help find a viable solution. Only simple and easy cost in thousands of dollars!
Got my Plaid X a month ago. Have FSD but not activated yet. Autopilot is very flaky even on the highway. It doesn’t look down the road more than about 1000’ and does not anticipate upcoming events. There are lots of other issues too that I hope gets cleared up in the next months or so. Otherwise, the car is mind blowing.
I've been a car person for years, but knew little of Tesla specifics (or any electric car), thanks. When leasing, I always recommend asking what the "money factor" is; essentially the interest rate, but it's a long number but you can convert it and compare it easily. Also, the residual value at lease end has a significant impact on your payment....brands and models that plummet in value after they are considered "used" may prove costlier than you realize. Fantastic video Marina, спасибо большое 🙂.
I have a model Y and have tried the self driving and was not a fan; it was just too clunky and made too many mistakes that I was uncomfortable with so I did not renew it. I have had my car for a year now and I still love it!!! I love driving by the gas stations too. One of my co-workers actually told me he thought of me as he put $88 down to fill up his Lexus. I told him I charged my car at home last night. Chuckle. My Tesla purchase experience was very similar, included a rain shower and no tour, very limited help, so Elon you need to elevate the delivery experience!
One of my favorite features is that the car continuously gets automatic upgrades on the computer screen. I saw the street lights appear and change color. That wasn’t on my car when I first got it and that is so cool that Tesla does all these free upgrades that you wouldn’t otherwise see…Like I said I still love my car!
Since u have the Cadillac before u ever thinking switching back to Lyriq is soo must nicer w the interiors and design, i cant wait to get my Lyriq next yrs AWD , i am also huge fans of Cybertruck of Tesla.
Yes, but compare your monthly car payments. Just built one two weeks ago, and it was going to be $1,212 ($64,000) with insurance and $4,500 down. Wow. My son has a Model 3 and loves it, but he just cashed in shares of stock at work to get his.
Thanks to your excellent review I am certain I will not be interested in buying a Tesla anytime soon. Your husband's comments were spot on as well. He's a smart guy. Thanks again.
Everyone's experience is different. I and many others I know with Model Ss and Xs have enjoyed a basically problem free ownership. I have a 2018 Model X 75D with 222k miles! That's Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla territory. I still haven't changed my brake pads! What little problems I have only started maybe last year, but I think it's long overdue. 6 months ago my A/C wasn't getting cold...it was just out of freon...I mean it's been 5 years of constant use. At 190k the bushings on the front driver side suspension had to be replaced due to the squeaking noise it was making. Other than those things....nothing. I have the 22in wheels, the tires it came with which are Pirrelli Scorpions, lasted for 70k before it needed replacing. Even the Falcon doors have never had any issues. I would recommend Tesla to anyone in the market for an EV. It's the best value out there.
I'm not excited about getting a Tesla. Two years ago I bought a 2-year old Lexus hybrid for $29,500 (w/ 21,000 miles). I think it is the best car I've ever owned. I plan on getting another Lexus hybrid when the time comes.
One more comment to add to my previous one. I have had my tesla S since 2013, so I am on the very, very early side of their production. If what I'm experiencing is about to happen to many more tesla owners as we get into the heart of their growth, there will be hell to pay. Minimally anger from customers and potentially class action suits to follow.
Finally an honest review about Teslas. Yes they go fast, yes they have cool tech, but the quality is not that great. Three failures in two months for a $120000 car. Not acceptable. My new car is three years old and has not failed at all during that time and it cost $45000. It drives itself as well and the air conditioning works. Thanks again for an honest review!!!
what's your car ? i'm really interested in electric cars, ofc in teslas aswell because they were the first to make it right, but it seems like a lot of companies are doing it better now
I want to own a Tesla. This is the first time I'm watching a Tesla review. Your positivity amidst what I would consider a disaster is amazing! There's a lot of great information about Teslas and car rentals and ownership in general. I'm subscribing to your for sure!
Try the model Y. Less problems and almost similar space. When the system freaks out, just press and hold both buttons on the steering wheel for a while, then release and the system will reboot and refresh.
.... My God, I've noticed many times that the outside of Tesla's have the most horrible fit and finish where doors and trunk linings don't line up properly but I didn't realize that that was extended into the inside of the car... Maybe it's what happens when you put innovation ahead of quality.
This review was so helpful. I have been car searching for a while, and Tesla was on my list. I thought getting a tesla was a good idea, especially with how high gas prices are. But I think I might have a change of heart about getting a tesla.
Hi the "Nurse Next Door": Gasoline Prices and Electric Powers/ Electricity going up and down on the same scale. When Crude Oil/ Natural Gas going up so is Electricity Price. (If you live in California, the State relies 71% on Fossils Fuels to generate Electricity. Solar powers in sunshine state can be down like this Winter. There are not enough sunny days and Snow covered Solar Panels/Faces Electricity generated by Solar or Wind might not be the same ─ while as Natural Gas will produce a steady Input/Output of Electricity. Currently, there are only 2% BEV like Teslas etc. on the Roads and Manufactured versus Gasolines and Hybrid, in 2016, there had been 70 Million or more of Vehicles (ICE - Internal Combustion Engines) using Gasoline/Diesel or Hybrid Manufactured. The Mines that currently produce Lithium, Cobalt, Magnesium and Palladium ─ for BEV's ─ with percentage of 3% of all Vehicles (these mines, mostly controlled by Chinese) are at their best of 90% capacity Productions; assumed an increase of BEV productions to just 20-25% of current Vehicles (there have been only about 1.5 to 2 million BEV Manufactured last year 2022, or about 3% of all Vehicles Made in 2022 ) ─ what would be the costs for Batteries (As we would need 10-time the supplies of Lithium Mining and Cobalt) … etc.? Demands vs Supplies ─ remember, when China and India were still in under-developed Nations; 1990's Crude Oils were under $15 Greenback a Barrel. (What is Crude Oil now? $70-85 per barrel range). Look at the Prices of Crude Oils now vs then 1990's. So, we do not know how the Mathematical Equations of Pricing's and Supplies would be Extrapolated? The Assumptions that Technology will advance and the cost will go down; it has not been true, Data/Statistics shown, Gasolines and Crude Oils had not come down, Explorations and Midstream, Downstream have advanced but prices have been more than 4x. We should rely on how much we can reduce CO2 emissions. by driving less and drive a smaller vehicle if the need for a larger vehicle is not a "must"; BEV are not the Solutions; a CyberTruck would pollute more than a Honda ICE Civic and cost a lot more. We should be honest to ourselves ─ and know to identify between "What we really need vs What we want" ... If you want to buy a Tesla, and can afford then buy one; but if you needed a economical vehicle then buy a top of the line Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. Cheers. Addendum: { Factored in China and India Demands ─ which is only approximately double the units of Cars/Trucks supplied to USA and Canada (numbers of Vehicles (Cars/Trucks/SUV's with 4 or more wheels; not counting Motorbikes or Scooters alike) ─ sold to China and India about the same as USA and Canada respectively [during decade 2010-2020] * (note: China is 4x the US Populations; and India is 40x Canada Population.) }
Hi, very comprehensive review! More like days in the life of a Tesla owner vs day in the life. The video review started off with enough praise to which I would consider buying a Tesla then brought me down to the issues with ownership and for me, it was a wash. My current petrol based van runs without issues, is paid for, and rarely go for long distances requiring few trips to the pump. Oh yeah the gasoline station is less than a quarter mile away and there are many others that are less than a few miles away. Wait in line for the pump? Only had to wait once for one car and that was less than 5 minutes -not a hour like most charging stations. So in conclusion I am happy with my 2013 Mazda and don't have any inclinations to change! Although nice to get your husband's views, It was difficult to understand your husband though so I fast forwarded through his talk. Other than that your video was very inciteful. Thanks for sharing.
The issue with the quality though is very dependant on which factory the car came from, the issues are almost exclusively from the fremont factory that was inherited from gm, not purpose built. The quality has improved vastly in a very short time period
Very honest review by both. Special thanks to your husband in explaining it. Seriously now I need to rethink whether I need to get a tesla. Sounds like lot of things need to improve in car to get into different level of maturity..
I have the same opinion. All my friends have one and are twisting my arm lol. I’m a Benz girl and love my GLE. Think I’ll check out the EQS. This doesn’t seem worth it
So sorry to hear such a poor experience with your brand new car! Very good choice, however as the room for the kids and the safety are very important. The order to delivery problems are common. At my order, I was given a date at the end of March 2022 and after 12 different date changes, delivery occurred at the end of March 2022! The model Y had no fit and finish problems except for an interior trim piece not fully in place. I placed a service appointment but that target date changed 6 times and I had to leave the state so I cancelled. That is apparently just the Tesla way as Zemka (sp?) said the focus is on tech not sales and service and not initial quality. Sell it now and fix it later seems to be the rule. I may place an order next year for a new model and then sell or trade my Model Y at delivery. It will probably pay for the new one given the used Tesla market. Cheers and drive safely.
This was an awesome review really enjoyed the honest feedback. Leasing is a great option I believe with Tesla when your lease ends you have to give the car back to them, with most other manufacturers you can purchase the car at the end of the lease, sell the car or just turn it back in. For 108k you should get a lot more than you have. I appreciate Tesla because without them we would not have all the amazing Electric vehicles on the road today not to mention all the new models on the way. Keep up the great work you guys have something special it’s call realism👏🏾
Electric Vehicles don't actually help the environment, EV's are not reliable & the battery loses power in cold weather. I'm Glad Honda decided against pursing any more EV cars. They are right.
Excellent Review. You handled those two catastrophic events with your car with far more composure than I could have. I think after watching this review, Tesla is a firm NO for me. I need a car to just work day in and day out. Lexus (and Toyota) is the way to go for me for the forseeable future.
@@youwebz What is so funny? There is *no* *doubt* that Japanese cars have far better quality than Tesla. Customers filed a class-action lawsuit against Tesla, because of very poor paint. On a $60,000 USD car! Unacceptable.
I took off my last post because sold my buick lacrosse hybrid which had a range of 400 mikes. After looking at the EV and seeing that they have not been improved, i brought the Jaguar XJl which i fully fuel up (once a month) and takes me 3 to 5 minutes not 20 minutes or 20 hours. My range is now 570 miles which supersedes any EV built by Tesla and at 41 thousand dollars, it's paid off.
When the falcon door doesn’t open completely, just press and hold the open button on the pillar nest to the door. Also, I’m sure you are a high earner, but paying 35-40% taxes sounds like a lot. You should consider a new accountant who can get you more deductions especially if you own a business.
A very honest review. I have a refresh S and just got a Model Y performance as well. I’d say that the quality of the Y is better than my S. I think Tesla has really focused on making the Model Y the best car and one that will scale to a huge volume production.

Driving my second low mileage Mercedes S550. Less than half price from new. Everything works perfectly and it drives like a dream. Every time I get in it it makes my day special. And my 20 year old son drives and adores my first Mercedes S class, which is 35 years old and everything on it still works like when I bought it over 30 years ago . These folks know how to make quality comfortable cars that last and last. And my son tells me how often he gets stopped by people admiring his ride.
Very informative, thank you….please keep posting updates about this car, we are considering one but concerned with how long batteries last and how much to replace. Your husband’s perspective was very eye opening. Please let him know I very much appreciate his comments
@@mielda182 Since the goal of Tesla is to be making 20 million cars in 2030, we will all be driving Teslas in the future. The price will even come down to that of Toyota and VW over time.
U r cool. Your / your husband’s comments were so genuine and good that I decided to subscribe to your channel…which is a big thing for me. Keep up the good work and ur honest comments!
I had my first ride in an X as a taxi in Jakarta last week. It was very nice ride. While in line for airlines I was talking to German man. I asked him what he though about all those German Tesla being made in Berlin. LOL said he “wasn’t aware” that they were making cars yet. He also added that he was sure that Tesla and other electric was not going to be the only solution to global warming or a zero carbon footprint. I just replied that it doesn’t matter what I believe because I had test driven a 3 and a Y and now I have to have one. To me driving a Tesla is so different from a gas car as it is driving a boat. The thousands of moving and wearing parts in a ice car and it’s transmission now makes no sense to me and a complete waste. Everytime my 10 speed transmission shifts I can just feel the life shortening of the car. Even though after my test I bought 30k of stock, and it’s now worth almost 10k, I still can’t wait to own one.
Thank you for your honest review. Your husband mentioned Telsa has good service, but waiting 18 days (before your car fully broke), is not good service. The reason you can get a Mercedes, Lexus, Cadillac, or ? repaired quickly is that there are many independent repair facilities, which reduces the load from the dealership for service. Until Tesla opens the ability for independent repair, timely service will only get worse as more cars are sold. Aside from this, since this is all internal, no-one will ever know the extent of problems that occur, since it is not available to the public, like you would see in mechanics Alldata, or OBDII diagnostics databases. Sub standard quality (for the price), reliability and no independent service are the biggest reasons I can't justify a Tesla. Maybe an EQS Mercedes would be a better choice?
I was just perusing RU-vid with no purpose and came across this review. What an excellent video. Your "regular" person review spoke very clearly to me, about the pros and cons of owning the Model X. It was pleasant to watch all the way through. Your husband, though it was difficult to understand everything he said, added that extra "pro" review that really gave insight into the differences between the X and other brands. Not to mention your son's input. This was a really informative piece and I loved it!! Thank you.
I bought my Tesla X in Dec 2019 and did not think it would be "called 2019" as in 12 days the same car is a 2020, There is no car like it and I have driven plenty of great cars, nothing compares. The car only needed the 12 volt battery changed after 2 years and they did that at no charge at my house, nothing else. My son has the same car in Puerto Rico and they are getting popular there also My fit and finish is better than a Mercedes I beat everyone at lights. I own the stock and lots of NIO stock
Just close the frunk slowly and then push on it if it's at the bottom. There is also an instruction video in the digital manual at your tesla! Otherwise you will damage it easily! :) You can select NDR and P on physical buttons under your phone charger. They light up and you can actually push it them if you wanna change gear.
Fair and balanced review. I wonder if you were one of the "unlucky" person to get a MX with so many problems with a new car. I am on my second MS and honestly I had not taken my car to the service station for any problem. I drove my 2015 S 85 for 6 years and 20K miles and had no issues. I got the refreshed MS (LR) for about a year and no problems (touch wood) so far. I did get the recall notice of airbag but I am assuming that it is in the interest abundant caution. One thing that you did not mention is the OTA updates that adds functionality to the car that no other OEM is doing.
Thanks for the funny review… my Model X was 12 times in service, 3 times drive shaft replaced, 2 times black screens, etc … since 2019 / 30k miles 😂😂😂… So quality is really not to be proud of… I like your husband‘s summary. Its true that it is a technology oriented object and if you like these gadgets, Tesla is your car… You may want to highlight next time other super practical gadgets like automatic garage door opening, door lifting height adjustment and air suspension regulation based on GPS, endless driver profiles, spotify and karaoke which my kids (around 9-10) love when taking their friends with us, dash cam, …. You are the first i see mentioning the „Close All“ button 😂😂😂 I love it too✌️ My main concern is the drive shaft design issue… out of the 30 kmiles, the car was vibrating during 25k miles… and there is no final solution in sight according to Tesla service centre…. For me this is a clear NO GO. I will not buy a Tesla again if I have to replace the drive shaft once a year…
Totally agree with your sentiments about the car. Found similar issues with leasing or dealer financing as you did, with an additional potential problem of a reduction in the value of the vehicle at the end of the lease due to any damage to the car. I read somewhere that people are preferring to purchase Mercedes EQS to the Model S. Wow, what a combo you guys are together -beauty and smart.
Test drove an EQS last week. The quality is soooooo bad compare to ICE Mercedes cars. I also have to add that we have owned all the S classes sincs w140. The current S class is the worst car we ever had. Okay it's comfortable, it looks good etc. We have the car for 1.5 years, it spent 4 months at the service center due to different electronical issues. Merc is not the same anymore :(
Actually you can remotely give access to someone so that they drive the car. Sad that new S and X here are still delayed :( would love to check one in person. Good review overall :)
10:13 I walked in at 23 picked up my key card and i left within 5 minutes. If they celebrated or did anything more I would have been uncomfortable. The amount of small talk conversation i get for being a "sucessful" young man is exhausting and outs me as an outcast. I really appreciated the no questions asked approach.
Tesla dont really care about the quality, they just going to let the customers to do the quality check and if there is a problem, go to the service center, which really sucks
Since my recent retirement, I have been considering getting an electric vehicle and your review is exactly what I needed to hear. If it weren't for innovators like Elon Musk, many of the conveniences that we take for granted today would have never happened. Frankly, I believe he is on the right track. That said, I own a conventional internal combustion sports car that is a couple of decades old. Like the Tesla, it has just about every bell & whistle that was was technologically available at the time. It has 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steering, pushbutton suspension stiffening, turbo charging, and a multitude of other innovations that were a novelty at the time of its construction. Along with the state-of-the-art technology came state-of-the-art headaches. In hindsight, I should have opted for reliability over gadgets. While I feel that reliability will come to the innovations found at Tesla, as well as other, electric automobiles it may take longer than I'm willing to wait. Now that I'm retired I'm looking for reliability. I'm not willing to chance the possibility of going without A/C on 80 degree days, nor being stranded roadside in my innovative and expensive test platform. In closing, I greatly appreciate your review.
What are you on about, Electric vehicles are a thing from 2005, only difference is that Musk did a plastic trash can that has billions of marketing behind it paying to people like her to advertise stuff without disclosing it highlighting only the positive stuff.
Safety is number 1 Priority; viz NO LIFE No Fun Game to enjoy; you just cant play Game of Death with your Life; DO NOT BUY ELECTRIC CARS specially TESLA as there is no quality. ROLEX4HIGHPROFIT400%&ZEROLOSS BJ AUST
Her A/C issue was a fluke that doesn't happen as often as in gas-engine cars. My 2014 $60K Mercedes had A/C issue the 1st year I bought it brand new and they didn't even give me a loaner for the 2 weeks that took to fix. Also gas engine cars have multiple issues that can happen that doesn't exist in electric cars, examples are: transmission, fuel lines, spark plugs, radiator, muffler, catalytic converter, gaskets, leakage, etc. etc.
Lease to own is the way to go because you don't have to finance 40% of the capital costs up front. However, Tesla closed that loophole so owning is the way to go. Tesla's now hold their value very well in the secondary market.
