It's easy when your established seller. But for the newbie like me it's about getting ungatted. And that takes time and money on stuff your probably gonna throw out anyway. I'm chugging along here but what you do is a pipe dream for the new guy. Love your videos and the info on them. I use them as a reference so keep up the good work. Greatly appreciated

You gotta fix your mindset. Getting ungated is so easy nowadays. Almost anywhere you buy from works. Buy low cost items. Kohls, Costco, the manufacturer website etc. it used to be so hard to get ungated, you got it easy bro

Also we shouldn't compare our experiences, esp in the beginning to such well seasoned/experienced sellers, such as Rezzy. But we can aspire to reach that Ievel and even higher, sooner rather than later. It will take hard work, which I feel will work out in the end

Question: I was inspired by you, I went out and found 3 toys that with ~10$ profit each. However, once I pay the 7$ FBA fee and ship it, it totally eats up profit. How critical is FBA for small-time arbitragers?

You can do seller fulfilled (FBM) just fine and actually make a little more per unit sold, it's just more work. Your goal should be to find items w higher sales prices, but also, using the amazon seller app you can tell exactly how much your fees will be when scanning an item

I believe you can contact a wholesaler who sells the products and purchase 10 or more items, then acquire an invoice to ungate some products. I could be wrong but RU-vid some uncaring process videos 🤙🏾

How do you provide proof for these items being purchased at retail stores? Amazon is saying a receipt isn’t good enough and a invoice is needed which isn’t attainable when purchasing these types of items at Walmart, tj max, etc

If you're talking about ungating specifically then you can use target web, kohls web, or Costco web and all will work fine.

Don’t you feel bad that you’re profiting off children’s toys? Discount stores give less fortunate families a chance to afford toys. I understand this is a hustle, but damn this is kinda heart breaking

Absolutely not. These stores are not in business for charity but the bigger question is why would you be ok with target for example selling a toy they got for $10 for $20 or for the Company that had it made in China for $2 and sold it to Walmart for $10

@ReezyResells I am not saying businesses are charities, I am saying when a product is discounted (especially kids toys) wouldn't you feel bad about taking that opportunity away from a kid? No one buys directly from China manufacturers, so Target,Walmart, Amazon are their only ways of consumption. If I was going to use your argument, why wouldn't you buy from China for $2 and sell it for $10?

I used to sell toys, but Amazon got much stricter with both brand restrictions and child product safety proof, the latter of which is time and money consuming. It's frustrating to have to jump through these hoops, especially if you're an established reseller.

Ross is not retail, and in fact retail arbitrage (at least when you purchase clearance)is almost always cheaper prices than wholesale

It's not something I would automatically not sell, but I would be very cautious of buying a large qty of anything that amazon is consistently in stock on. If it's one or two, not a big deal isually

if you are selling against amazon it is fine but you must get an item that is a lot lower in price and you can still make a profit because if you are matching the price of amazon they will win the buybox so you must be lower by 50 cents or something and you also have to be sure you are making money at that price point

Why don’t you need to deduct Amazon’s delivery fees when calculating profits? After deducting the delivery fee, there is basically no profit.

Every store has a different way of doing it. The for sure way to figure it out is to ask for the manager. Most stores do it at the register and you'll get a form to fill out. Sometimes you have to bring the form yourself, which is recommended as it's faster. Generally just notify the cashier before they start ringing you up. Walmart has to be setup at customer service and they give you a card you show the cashier before you checkout. Only some targets allow it, talk to CS. Home Depot is done on their website. It's different for every store but usually a quick google or talk to the manager will get it sorted. Not really worthy of a video

How do you get ungated ? Most of the products need approval. How do you get rid of that barrier when you buy from Marshals or TJ maxx or Ross ?

Buy from target and kohls website that invoice will work for almost any brand. Most importantly, make sure that your ship to name and address matches your Amazon account and that you order 10 units of the brand in question. If Amazon rejects your invoice, make sure to click "need more help" and resubmit. Rinse and repeat until you get accepted

You get ungated automatically more as you go along but if you need a supplier to get ungated, you can use target and kohls and Costco (all online only) to ungate most brands. Just make sure to order ten units and to order it in the name and address that's listed on your seller account. After that just don't take no for an answer. If amazon declines, choose "need more help" and start a fresh new case w a new agent and submit it again

I've seen some people talk of buying something at a regular retail price and getting a good deal more for it on eBay or Amazon. When the demand to buy a product on the site exceeds the supply, the price goes up. The reverse is also true; if the supply exceeds the demand, sellers will compete more and lower price to get the fewer sales

I resold Walmart items on the Amazon platform, which triggered an audit and shut down my Amazon account. I was asked to provide invoices or receipts, but it was impossible to issue Walmart receipts and invoices. This was a very bad trap.

I am also in Canada too. I do think Canada stores are less about having crazy discounts but they do have them however, you can always export items from Canada to the USA. it gives you sale tax advantages. If you do not know how sale tax works here is the homework for you to ask an accountant as I am not an accountant I am not advising you on how tax goes.

@@on9francisyu Thanks for the idea, but I'm not sure yet if it makes sense to export goods from Canada to the US, because the prices in Canada are so high in Canadian dollars that after converting to US dollars they can be even higher than in the US. @@ondboost764 think about it from Amazons perspective. If you owe Amazon money and you don’t have any money in your bank account, there would be no way for them to get paid. If you have a credit card on file, they can get paid by the credit card company, regardless of if you actually have money.

No amazon charges and remits the payment for you. You still have to file a return but for amazon sales your sales tax return will be $0

I'm sure he does but you don't label with UPCs you use FNSKUs if you're doing FBA. Which is just a unique label for your items and your items only.

Depends, both have their benefits. I think you're gonna find better deals in store w clearance and stuff you won't see online but online saves you from driving around and you can use a prep center w OA

Im a new seller, does a Costco receipt really get you ungated? I havent tried yet but i’ve heard of people getting rejected using Costco. And will I be ungated in that category forever afterwards? It seems like there are a lot of hurdles to jump through at the very beginning, whats the easiest way to get ungated and get started? Thanks!

Yes Costco invoices, from online orders are best. Receipts might work, you would want to paste it into an 8.5 x 11" document and add relevant info. Do not alter the original receipt at all, but point out things, add the ASIN, the url etc. It's never been easier to get ungated in the history of selling on Amazon as it is nowadays. Most of the times ordering form the manufacturers website will get the job done. If you submit and it doesn't get accepted, open a new request for approval and resubmit. Goonies never say die 🏴‍☠️☠️
