This breaks my heart…I used to love watching sawtooth all the time when younger, he inspired me with mlp theories to know this ill wrenching truth hurts..
Those theories were usually other people's ideas that they shared in RU-vid comments under reaction videos or MLP forums, gathered by this individual and put in a form of videos with his own commentary around it. And since YT comments are very volatile, it's usually hard to prove, and hard for other people to notice, because all they see is a dude making videos about it and hiding all the sources, so you might get impression that he came up with all of it himself. You would have to be in the fandom for years and know a lot of obscure places and people to be able to see how much of this stuff has been "inspired" by external sources.
I hope you're able to move past this and continue doing what you've always done because your videos are really fun to watch and since he was never really on your channel I don't understand completely why you felt the need to make this video but I understand that you don't want your channel dragged into the drama. I'd say that the "heartbreaking" part is that so much of the MLP community engaged in a truly reprehensible *cancel culture* campaign against ST over a *BIG NOTHING BURGER.* When we look objectively at the facts, all this entire hullabaloo is about is a 19 year old texting with a 15 year old. They didn't even meet in person or anything. When I was in high school, there were 19 year old high school seniors in my class - people who'd repeated a grade or started school a year late. If one of them were to have dated a high school sophomore, nobody would see this as anything remarkable. This whole thing is much ado about nothing, but sadly we've let this hysteria destroy ST's career as a content creator.
I.. honestly can't believe it..i grew up watching sawtooth they inspired me when I was younger.. they were the last person i thought would do something like this... honestly I'm just disappointed..and heartbroken.. I also knew Sawtooth back when they were under the name "The Brony Notion". Now, I recently found out about this incident because I was looking back at channels I used to watch and I went over to Sawtooth's thinking I'd find just a bunch of new theory's and whatnot. But when I went to their channel, and was greeted with all videos gone and a blacked profile picture, I was so confused as to what happened to them. And then I saw their community tab, and read both the victims side of the story, along with Sawtooth's side of the story. It honestly saddened me to know one of my favourite MLP theory channels had done this, and participated in roleplay with a minor like that. I, myself, as a minor am truly disgusted and upset to find out they had done this. But I will truly miss Sawtooth's videos that I grew up with... Especially their Flurry Heart "Buy. Our. Toys." remix they made.
So have been out of the mlp fandom for a couple of years now but I loved sawtooth waves and I watched his videos before the name change and I am so shocked. Thanks for the video about what happened
@@TheUndercoverBrony something like this, (not with a public figure or for as long) happend to me where I was in a highly toxic and unstable friendship with someone who was 18-19 with me being 14 at the time. Just like the victim (according to their socials) was a needy person. I was and still am desperate for friends due to past unhealthy friendships at my old school. And this hits so hard to see it happen but on a much harsher scale. No one deserves this treatment. I understand from tooths side that he is taking responsibility and from the texts shown by the victim (whos name I think is ash?) he didn’t think it was illegal at the time. However that doesn’t justify his actions regardless. I feel awful for the victim and seeing this happen with one of my favourite creators aswell is really disheartening (I think that’s the word 🤠🤌）

Man fakes a whole s*icicle and blamed it on me 😎🤌 So I do get to some extent what the victim has gon thru which is why this hit so hard. It takes 5 minutes max of playing in PonyTown and watching what people are talking about there to see how many such people appear there regularly and talk with obvious minors about implicit stuff on the "safe" server. My kids watched ST's content with me up until his channel was made private, and I consider his cancellation to be a great tragedy and a real injustice....Especially considering that the allegations against him amounted to a giant *NOTHING BURGER.*
Sawtooth made it pretty clear that no one else knew, so you would have been fine. Anyone who has actually read everything won't blame Sawtooth at all, but they don't want to be defended, so I'm not going to. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

i...i cant belive almost a year when i was still a big fan of mlp i used to watch mlp videos, theoris, music remix then i saw Sawtooth Waves coming from the video and i was like damn i love his videos, ever seens year goes by i didn't watch Sawttoth Waves bcs of school to do and then maybe febuary 2023 somehow and i was like 'you know what lets watch Sawtooth Waves its been years i never watch his video, sure why not react again maybe theres new updates or new videos upload on his channel' and everthing stop i went to his channel and everything is.. blank ...i was like 'nono it can't be it was a joke right...right..?' i reaserch every where until i relised the truth about it and i was heartbreak i mean he was inspared me seens young like i was back at the age of 5-7 yrs old now everthing shatering to pieces i used to watch mlp video and now i don't anymore bcs... he is not here...? it still breaks my heart to see happening this. I hope Sawtooth is alright...

I mean, he could have just did that to move on from everything that happened. Giving up on what was most important to him by dropping his channel as a way to learn from his mistakes and his terrible decisions? Maybe a therapist encouraged it? Honestly a better decision than other RU-vidrs who foam at the mouth when they're caught in scandal and scream that everyone else is wrong.
He admitted his wrongdoings and has left the Internet. A good decision, considering most people won't read the whole story and will just mark him as a pedo without understanding what was actually happening. (The worst thing that sawtooth did was rp kiss her. They never even met in person. No explicit pictures were sent. Nothing.)
While I wish he hadn't decided to bow to the cancel-mob and private all of his content (except his apologies in the "community" section), I honestly don't think anything that ST did was especially awful. He simply texted when a girl who was a few years younger than he. They were both teenagers with their little "online romance" started. On MLP FiM, Twilight became close friends with Starlight Glimmer, who'd literally enslaved an entire village....Yet somehow a 19 year old guy texting with a 15 year old fan is unforgivable?🤔🤔
The short version is that when he was 19 he started an online "romance" with one of his fans - a 15 year old girl who'd developed a crush on him. They never met in person, much less had sex, but they spent a lot of time messaging each other online. A lot of people decided to "cancel" him because of that, and decided that he's a terrible person. Personally, I see this as a *GIANT NOTHING-BURGER,* considering that when I was in high school there were some 19 year olds in my senior class - people who'd either had to repeat a grade or started school a year later than usual. And nobody would consider it extraordinary (much less "pedo" or "predatory") if one of these high school seniors were to date a high school sophomore. The younger woman also apparently blew off her school work and didn't get into the college she wanted, then tried to play the "victim" and blame Sawtooth for her own failures 🙄🙄

Anyone who is surprised by this honestly is not good at reading people. I knew he was the kind of person that would do this for a long time. I couldn't prove it, but I knew he was likely doing something of this nature behind closed doors, and if he wasn't, he would do it in a heartbeat, should the opportunity come. I could have stopped this, but the dude was worshipped. No one would listen to me.
Hindsight bias is tough to deal with, but we all experience it. It has nothing to do with reading people; just regular old icks and hindsight bias. But, it's still frustrating
Okay that is bullshit and you know it. An isolated incident doesn't not speak to an overarching mental disorder called pedophilia. This was at worse a case of an irresponsible teenager (Sawtooth) not realising the power he had over someone until it was too late.
