I'm no economist, but I can understand basic poverty statistics, and I wonder if the millions in South East Asia pulled out of extreme poverty by free market economics would agree with comments here denouncing the 'oppression of the capitalist system'.

Many of the real communists (those who buy into marxist-communist ideology at that time) when they really looked into how sincere King Rama IX was to many of his development projects, now aligned themselves with the king and the country against real threats of the community that is the imperialism of the global western capitalist. Those are now known as “กองทัพปลดแอกประชาชนแห่งประเทศไทย - ผู้ร่วมพัฒนาชาติไทย”, translated into “People’s Liberation Army of Thailand - Supporter of National Development”. (The first is the original name of the communist armed insurgent, while the latter is the new name after the de-escalation policy during Gen. Prem at the end of the Cold War) They are now working along the same philosophy of the late king to help rural communities to develop and sustain themselves. Because they knew that the ideology of the King is complimentary with the real goal of communism, that is the focus on “commune” or “community”, making them sustainable and protecting them from the oppression of the capitalist system. The new wave of so-called “communist” is actually a sham, a theatrics, a show. They’re hollow on the inside. Because their main supporters and sponsors are foreign capitalist/imperialist powers like the US and EU and the corrupt local tycoons like Thaksin and Thanathorn, both having an interests that are antithetical to core communist ideology. (Like Thanathorn who even suppressed his employees when they wanted to form a company worker union) That is why they are destined to fail. They have no real goal except to serve their masters like a loyal dog. What a disgrace.

I live in Surat Thani, and there's the worst thing what makes me hate Commies gang till this day is they attacked the helicopter which Princess Vibhavadi Rangsit, a member of the royal Thai family was in while she was on the way to visit injured soldier in 1977. This proves that Commies gang in Thailand never respect nor willing to work with Thai government and monarch and intentionally destroy them. Well, some of those idiots in '70 and '80 has legally returned to the public society due to General Prem Tinnasulanonda's order 66, yet they never realised anything and keep teaching their pupils in Commies way they want, and we get young commies idiots who mixed up with other things till the recent demonstration against the current government and monarch looks so f*cked up.
